I’ve had the Gen 2 AirPods and love the convenience but have always regretted never getting the pros for ear tips, noise cancellation and perhaps the spatial audio for my Apple TV at night? Been waiting for months hoping for the AirPods Pro 2 now I’m conflicted.

Worth upgrading now to the AirPods Pro Gen 1’s now that were looking at 2022 or am I being stubborn/impatient?

do you care about anything fitness related on airpods? i dont, and cant fathom why i would need it.

the current airpods pro are a tremendous product at what i think is a good price (190$ USD easily on sale). i was a huge skeptic but came away ridiculously impressed.

bought them on a whim and im flabbergasted at simply how good a thing it is: top notch comfort, the connection stability/reliability and apple integration is nuts, the noise cancellation AND pass-thru is more natural than anything ive used, case is well engineered, first headphone/earphone device where callers havent complained about microphone quality, and the spatial audio again was a big surprise.

The point of fitness tracking with the AirPods is …what, exactly? The Watch surely does it better and the phone can do it if you don’t want a Watch. And if it uses up any of that precious battery life, I don’t want it. Unless it’s some sort of precursor to a head tracking AR feature, I don’t see the point.

If the Pros being delayed means they can have lossless though, then take all the time you need, Apple.
Look up the bragi dash. They were cursed with being one of the first true wireless buds but the feature set was bonkers.
many people wear the watch improperly for accurate heart rate tracking during activities, if the AirPods use the proximity sensor for knowing when they‘re in your ear to measure heart rate, the accuracy could be far superior.
all that said, I can’t think of a fitness tracking addition I’d want in AirPods and for lossless audio I assume they‘d need a dual mode option for fidelity where you can chose Bluetooth to maximize battery or wifi to airplay the higher rez files with an hour or two of playback time

I like this guys ambition:
Don't throw out that electric scooter. If you've got an extra $100K and four years of free time, you can turn that scooter into an electric Supercar! This video made me laugh. It's just the kind of DIY that's WAY over my head. To me, it just seemed like a LOT of effort combined with dozens of opportunities to screw it up, but hey, if this is something you could do, more power to you.

Well this sucks. Been waiting for the new airpod pro 2 for a long time now. I guess that means I will be getting the new sony wf-1000xm4s.

Well, my stupid APP stopped connecting to my iPhone, iPad and Mac a few months ago. I've been holding off on replacing them because I thought/hoped the new model would be released relatively soon. I'm not typically a fan of Beats products, but these new Beats buds might be my move since I would otherwise have to wait until next year. I'm guessing these will be $299, which I don't want to pay, but that's Apple.

There's a reason why the AirPods Pro and AirPods 3 have been delayed: they are going to switch to the H2 Bluetooth chip, which may have more functionality than the H1 chip.

What do you do with your "old" airpods? I have one pair which do not hold any charge. I am feeling guilty in just binning them.

Now make them sound good. The AirPod Max are top of the line for wireless headphones - the AirPod Pros are far from it.

For me all the features in the world is useless if they don’t sound good. I don’t buy earbuds for fitness tracking.

Totally agree, I have some £30 bluetooth cheapies from Amazon that I used before getting the Pro's, they sound so much better to me. Better bass, clearer and deeper sound overall, and that is even with my ears which are not the finest in the world due to abuse in my even more stupider, younger years. My QC20i's have way better noise cancelling as well. Convenience is the only reason I kept my Pro's but I definitely wouldn't buy another set.

I'll keep waiting for 3rd gen AirPods, i just hope they will not be the in-ear type with the rubber inserts. I hate those.

My first gen airpods are also on their last legs battery wise. I just hope they would announce something, cuz if i dont like the 3rd gen, i'll just get the 2nd gen older style, which fits me well.

Apple has apparently tested a smaller design that eliminates the stems on AirPods Pro. This stemless design is expected to debut on new Beats Studio Buds that are rumored to launch next month.

Apple purportedly originally planned to release the second-generation AirPods Pro in 2021, but for reasons that are unclear, the launch has been pushed back to 2022.
For reasons unclear? The reason is in the preceding paragraph.

The next gen airPods need much more battery life, if Tesla can make the cyber truck go 500 miles on a charge why can’t we get 8 hours on AirPods? 8 real hours not having to put them back in the case at the most inopportune time! Tracking or being able to find the AirPods should be a give in.

"Apple is readying third-generation ‌AirPods‌ for launch later this year."
So, next year.

My Airpods 1 are on the blink, and don't stay in when running/working out... so I was hoping the Airpods Pro 2 would be coming sooner. 😞
I can't get more than 3 minutes out of mine, so I'm holding off until either gen 3 or new pros come out. It sucks because I LOVE my AirPods, but the battery life just makes the completely unusable now.
