Iphone PRO MAX PRO

EDIT: on a more serious note, Their SKUs are way too chaotic. Basically like the old windows vista basic/home premium/ultimate/enterprise that they made fun of back in the days.
An iPhone PiMP (Pro Max Plus) would be a truly pimped out iPhone.

Android also had one home button, but they had two other buttons with additional functionality.
Did I say anything else? iPhone had the same functionality, integrated in one button. Apple invested lots of efforts in usability and simplicity. It cared about details. Babys were able to use it without any further explanation.

Life long fan, but how about we stop going around in circles with these products and BS "upgrades". Make something that is truly special, innovative and semi-affordable once again. There is no innovation with Apple....that died with Jobs and left with Ive. #truth
re:Ives thank everything he left, the obession with thinness was absolutely wrecking Apple's laptops - especially give how hot the Intel chips ran. Apple Silicon itself in Macs is a pretty solid piece of work too, the Apple Watch post-dates Jobs by 4 years, if he was involved it was only early on, and it looks like the big new category being introduced this year is AR/VR. Also the iPhone itself, to bring this comment on topic, has evolved pretty considerably from the 5, which would have been the last one Jobs was directly involved in prepping production engineering and design for.

As far as phones in particular go at a certain point a product category is going to stabilize and get relatively incremental updates, that's the way of things. The tech and sector mature and for another people get used to their workflows and devices - especially for something as critical as a phone is these days - and *expect* incremental changes, not radical ones that upend their daily routines.

Also worth pointing out that the past few years have seen some seriously unstable global supply chains, COV19 obviously but also Tsunamis, wars and conflicts, political upheaval, etc. That's slowed down evolution or broken the function of, well, everything hardware related and more (agriculture comes to mind, which then in turn effects everything else down the line, people have to eat), not just phones and computers.

I really want to agree with you as these phones are unwieldy.

But having the 13 mini, it’s thermal regulation was baaaad. Constantly getting hot.

And Apple’s “MOR CAMERA!!” Bumps just aren’t reasonable on the mini size.

:(
I dunno, I find my 13 Mini runs cooler than my 8 did - what I upgraded from. I used to get overheat warnings on my 8 using it a lot on hot days, havent ever had that on the mini.

The bump I'll grant you, it would be so much nicer flush, the bump is annoying.

Affordable like the iPhone 1?

Does the world really need a phone that is MORE EXPENSIVE than an already existing $1100 phone? The US needs a law prohibiting the sale of any phone for more than $500 (inflation adjusted). If your proposed design can't be made for that price, it probably involves features that don't deserve to exist.

No the world does not, but I'd argue "the world" needs a solid sub-$400 iPhone the size of the iPhone 13 mini or SE.

Some of us aren't filming movies with our iPhone.

Some of us don't care what others think about which model iPhone we have.

Apple followed its strategy to "lock competition out, lock customers in". This works for a certain period of time. But competition is what drives evolution and by locking others out, Apple locked itself in. Maybe Apple will crash and burn, or it will slowly vanish.

My money is on Apple continuing to grow and prosper. You aren’t the first naysayer to sing the death knells for Apple, you won’t be the last, and you all bet against Apple to your own detriment.

It’s crazy because those AW editions were selling for 10-17k when they came out and Apple stopped supporting them after 2018, no wonder they stopped selling them a year later and we got stuck with the ceramic versions which they even got rid of those.

I saw one come up on the second hand market for like 6k but it wasn’t working and needed work, I figure only 1% of apple die hard fans would get it out of nostalgia but wouldn’t surprise how many topics we would of people here returning their iphone 16’s like they did with with the 14 pros
The issues is that foldable smart phones have many downsides compared to a candy bar for factor will little to no moving parts. Rollable smart phones look more interesting compared to foldable ones but again its durability is questionable. Even the present iPhone when dropped or dropped many times will chip, crack shatter, scratch the screen and body now add in a two motors to roll that display and the frame and it’s AppleCare+ 💰💰💰 and a nightmare to repair.

Another issue is does it roll vertically or horizontally and if someone is holding it and forgets that’s it’s expanding it would ruin the rolling mechanism, then there is the issue of a case and screen protector, etc etc. This adds up to total cost of ownership it may look good in promotion videos but in reality it’s problematic.

The iPhone 15 and 15 pro will still be around for users desiring a more affordable option.

No law, keep laws out of letting people choose what they want to buy

Agree, I just need a phone for communication calling, quick lookup, car gps, and basic camera for documenting (accident, receipt, documents).

I don't care about phone photography or film... I got a dedicated camera for that.

It does happen. The best and worst thing about decades ago was you could walk in a store and have six choices for something. Then I'd be there balancing feature vs price forever. Or at one time with DVDs and now with streaming, I sit there looking at all the movies but then watch nothing.
I get it. It's hard. But are you seeing what I'm seeing? 19 forum pages with 90% people wanting less choice for themselves?

I'm just making an observation here. Yes, "no choice" is still a choice. But then whenever we give up our choice, then we're really just "lazing out" and letting somebody ELSE make that choice for us. Henry Ford is said to have claimed that a customer may have their car in any color. As long as it's black.

Whenever I fly to Detroit, Philly, New York, or Chicago, everybody was wearing grey. And driving silver cars. Maybe grey and silver are the new non-choice choice? But then again, maybe schooling fish and flocking birds have survival down and we're right to emulate it. If you look and act like all the other smelt or pigeons, then you can't be picked out as easily by predators.

Me, I still like choice. When it's mine to make.

In addition, it would be nice if Apple brings the iPhone Mini back. This should be the 2024 iPhone lineup.

  • iPhone Mini
  • iPhone Pro
  • iPhone Pro Max
  • iPhone Ultra
Move the regular iPhone line up towards the Spring and get rid of iPhone Plus.

Can we also get iPhone Ultra in Product Red, please? I miss the Product Red iPhone.

Isn't every red iPhone still Product Red? I just checked their site and it states Product Red near the red iPhone.
