I have to wonder at what point does the legal team start looking Grumman’s direction for leaks? Remember this from last year?

It's easy to pick off guys posting on Twitter, but much harder to do so when Bloomberg offers their full legal team to support Gurman.

Well this is disappointing. I keep waiting for them to finish updating Notification Center because it's a huge step backwards in the current betas.
  • Swiping down just shows the empty lock screen (wallpaper + time + widgets) with no notifications displayed (other than time-sensitive notifications; regular notifications are hidden). You have to swipe up on the wallpaper to see any notifications. This is stupid - it adds an extra unnecessary step to see notifications, which are much more important than wallpaper. If I want to admire my wallpaper, I can just swipe down to temporarily hide notifications.
  • If I unhide notifications, they stay that way until the next time the phone is locked. Then they're hidden again. Very annoying.
  • The display options in Settings (Count/Stack/List) don't work for me at all. I get the same view no matter what.
Since Notification Center and Lock Screen share so much functionality, I wonder if some of the issue is that I have very few notifications set to show on the Lock Screen. Maybe everything is working as intended when all are set to show on Lock Screen, but Apple didn't bother to fix the case when that's not true? Either way, huge step backwards for my use case. Notification Center should always show all notifications regardless of Lock Screen settings!

Aside from this, the latest public beta has been flawless.

Not when the sources are using Telegram. :)
Hah, should we venture into Telegram trackers now? :D
A Apple company provided iPhone doesn't mean it allows employees to do whatever they want. They could harden it easily enough before the end user gets it. ;)

Apple had its bricks iOS versions...so better see if everything is ok and we not encounter another update that break your device under installation

"Finished" can mean different things - based on the article it isn't finished, as they're still fixing bugs. The state is often called "feature complete".

Apple engineers wrapped up development of the initial version of iOS 16 last week, according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman. This likely means that Apple has few to no major new features or changes planned for the remaining iOS 16 betas and will instead focus on bug fixes in the final weeks before the software update is publicly released.

In the latest edition of his "Power On" newsletter, Gurman reiterated that iOS 16 and watchOS 9 are planned for release in September alongside new iPhone 14 and Apple Watch Series 8 models, while he expects iPadOS 16 and macOS Ventura to be released in October.

Here's the exact quote from Gurman's newsletter:iOS 16's major new features include a customizable Lock Screen with widgets, the ability to temporarily edit or unsend an iMessage, iCloud Shared Photo Library for sharing photos with family and friends, a revamped Home app, and more. Apple also reintroduced a battery percentage icon in the status bar on most iPhones with a notch.

Gurman recently reported that Apple is planning to hold an event on Wednesday, September 7 to unveil new iPhone 14 and Apple Watch Series 8 models. Apple would likely also announce release dates for iOS 16 and watchOS 9 at the event, which Apple has yet to officially confirm. Gurman believes Apple is likely to hold another event in October focused on new Macs and iPads, including updated iPad Pro models with the M2 chip.

Being a 16 beta user, I am still amazed at how multi-tasking fails when an alarm starts and streaming stops. Or, streaming gets blown away altogether.

They finished development…so now qa will start and they’ll see what they’ll delay to 16.0.1 and beyond.

Hopefully they will continue to provide security updates for iOS 15 just as they did for iOS 14. I don’t want to be forced to install beta software for half a year just to patch zero day holes.

If Gurman is right, then the next "beta drops" will be the Release Candidate versions. Mind you, I am NOT going to install iOS 16.0 on my iPhone 12 until they release the first bug fix release.
What is the first bug fix release?
16.0.1 if there is one 16.1 or better wait for 16.2??

I hope something will happen in the direction of the HomePod. Ok, I only use the PublicBeta but that is bugged like hell. constantly Disconnets, Siri understands me very rarely and even listening to music via TuneIn does not work.

I'm not complaining, but can only hope that there is still a reasonable update of the beta. If this is released so, I can no longer use the HomePod for my purposes.
