Usual blurb from TC. “Our customer tell us how much they love using our products.” “This is the fastest iPhone ever”.
Phones do everything that most of the people want to do, they have reached a stage where we can't expect major changes. Processors are more powerful than what most people need, UI is set, can't change much, Display resolution is set, don't need more than what we have now, to be frank i can't notice any difference between 60 & 120 Hz unless i keep both phones side by side and focus to find the difference, and 120 Hz might be useful in some special cases, 99% of the people won't even notice the difference.
it is like laptops, no major changes, except ARM processors now.

These prerecorded presentations are terrible! The talking is sing-song, forced, and too fast. Their breathing and intonations are off base and sound artificial.

It's as if they all took a mini-course in video presenting and failed it! 😎

Worse, there's often irritating New Age background Muzak going on, competing with the speakers, making it hard to hear what they’re saying.

Years ago, I'd watch the live keynotes religiously; there was good delivery for the most part, some excitement, some drama, and a feeling of participation.

Then, I realized I was wasting hours on them and could get just as much out of MacSurfer's highlight stories and, later, MacRumors, in far less time. You can quickly separate the wheat from the chaff.

I still tried watching the events as they were occurring from time to time to see if the magic had returned, but was usually quite disappointed.

SixOFour put it well back in June:

“I can't help feeling like I'm watching a cult recruitment video.”
Is it really that big a rumor or news story that Apple starts preparing and recording these keynote videos a month early? We wouldn't expect anything else…
No one can beat Jobs in explaining/presenting.

I hope at some point Apple realizes that maintaining a somewhat personal connection with customers is important, especially as they grow their business horizontally. Even they are subject to the relentless march toward commoditization.

On stage events with all the small snags that come with them are special in a world that is becoming more impersonal by the year.
One of the reasons Apple Stores have been successful is the personal connection between customers and store employees. The more customers are walled off (and, yes, m*sks are walls) from Apple employees, the weaker the connection between the two.

Apple has "started to record" its virtual September event, where it's expected to announce the upcoming iPhone 14 lineup, the Apple Watch Series 8, and a new "rugged" Apple Watch model, according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman.

Writing in his latest Power On newsletter, Gurman says the event, which is expected to take place in the early part of September, is already under production, implying that Apple is planning another virtual, pre-recorded event.

Some may have hoped that Apple would resume full in-person events for its headlining iPhone launch this year, but that doesn't seem to be the case. Apple held a mostly digital WWDC event in June but had a limited in-person crowd at Apple Park to watch the pre-recorded keynote and have hands-on time with new products.

Gurman says that Apple may plan to hold two events this fall, similar to the last several years. The September event will focus on the new iPhone and Apple Watch, while the second event in October will be Mac and iPad-focused.

Apple has a long list of products it's aiming to launch this fall, so it's not surprising we could see two events in the coming months. Alongside the new iPhones and Apple Watch, Apple is also planning to announce a new iPad Pro, the second-generation AirPods Pro, and more.

I get so tired of these slick 1 hour commercials, so much liked the live format better.
