Yes, do please buy me an Apple Watch Pro. That would be really awesome. 🤣

Your big heart and kindness will be memorialized on a plaque in a McDonalds of your choice in the state of New Jersey.
I admire your candid response and acknowledging that you are not affluent. We who have $$$ are not always compassionate. We got here because we went to college, to graduate school and excelled professionally. My father was an alcoholic but I knew I would achieve more than he did! Never assume that having $$$ is not stressful. My wife and I are are buying Hermès watches for our housekeeping team. We want to make sure they catch the bus on time to arrive at our Jony Ive worthy designed home in an elite neighborhood. Our cleaning ladies live in a rough, high crime community. With Apple releasing the new “Rugged” edition Apple Watch— My wife thinks the ladies need the tougher watch since they are always slinging mops and standing in the cold or rain at the bus stop surrounded by less desireables.. Anyway— I don’t want to bore you with decisions you’ll never have to deal with. By “asking” for an Apple Watch— you have been disqualified from the fund raising campaign. Learn humility as I have. Then we can talk.

there are so many pretend marketing experts, hardware design Savants one must offer their view succinctly with as few words as possible. I burst out laughing yesterday when I read that Magic Leap is releasing it’s AR headset in September at a price point of $3299!! Many MacRumors posters have told us time and again that $3000 price points for Mixed reality headsets are “insane” and will “Never happen”. These are not sophisticated observers mind you. I’ll be issuing additional “Tough Guy” responses to the inevitable outrage that will soon drench this site. The good news is, Apple/Magic Leap are NOT developing these products for the mass market. — I urge those who can’t afford Magic Leap and Apple’s coming products to get 2nd jobs or move to low end devices.. What matters is participating in the new space!
Are you ok man?

Yes— that is true. These forum discussions often become cluttered by those who declare Apple is Greedy and rants over price bore me. I have suggested elsewhere that MacRumors create a closed forum restricted to high-net worth consumers as a sanctuary from the indignation of the price resentful crowd. — A recent poll in the USA said that most Americans consider individuals with a Net Worth minimum of 2.5- 3 Million dollars is considered “wealthy”. I would add in a Credit score rating 750+ as well for good measure. (Credit scores are reliable indicators of behavior). What say you UK-Addict? That proposal work for you? Cheers!

I find most high net worth individuals (those with a lot more than £2-£3m) are the stingiest people, they are tightwads.

Also they like to haggle on price all the time.

So actually the truly affluent care about price the most out of anyone. So you may find your forum full of even more whining about price than here.

You will often find they buy the cheapest model iPhone, Macs etc.

Obviously you get those with a few million thinking they are Elon Musk wanting to show off and buying the most expensive of everything.

Good Comeback UK MacAddict!! There is some truth in your post. Affluence does not mean there will be no whining.— I’m thinking— we’ll add a “No Price Whining” filter to the High net-worth Forum. It may need some tweaking— to get it right— but we’ll eventually achieve freedom from the Marxist Tyranny that is pervasive among some Apple users.

Apple should introduce a low res Mono-chrome, heavy X-86 laptopo running an early Mac OS and No apps. Just a Google Work subscription for the many here who declare Apple to be Greedy. The marketing campaign will be a celebration of the Marx/Engels Proletariat Memorial edition. Price based only on Human labor! A special British version is warranted. Marx wrote much of Das Kapital in London! (I actually tried to read DK after the Communist Manifesto—but it was too heavy a slog)

Cheers from the USA where Apple Computer is reviled for being modern by many.

Cost of labour is too much. Apple should really be providing all their products for free and then only charge for the services like Apple TV etc since they are more of a service company now which is why John Ive left.

Yes I bought into the Jony Ive myth as well. It was silly looking back. Apple was correct in jettisoning their expensive relationship as I read the trades. Actually the cost of labor isn’t too much. It will be capitalized as more and more production methods become automated. People wail about bringing Apple manufacturing back to the USA. Tim Cook is a very smart man. He will dither and delay until Automation reaches an economic “take off” point— and THEN bring it back to domestic production. Manufacturing with No to Few employees (compared to the present) is now within sight!

In the UK many High Tech jobs went to immigrants from Poland! That was smart. But, the Brexit move of course ended that. How are prices over there UK MacAddict?

Laughs I don’t think Boris Johnson or Rishi Sunak are disposed to making a company give away their products.

Prices in the UK are ok - like most of the world, there's a general increase in living expenses.

Did anyone not teach you to contains some humility and not brag?

I have had 3 different Apple Watches, and I really like them, however what got me to buy a 2500$ Garmin Toolwatch was the 5 days battery time - and a much much better dashboard both on phone and online.
(and also that it auto records my bike-ride)

TBH I would gladly pay 2500$ for a new apple smartwatch if it had
1) A Real Watch design - jewelry for men.
2) Better battery life, like a week (seriously what good is sleep tracking when you have to charge every night)
3) Auto recognition of activities - and subsequent integration of all data into a universe as good as Garmin holds (Seriously the Health app SUCKS)
Please Rygaard— I respectfully ask that you NOT share that you “would gladly pay $2500 for a new Apple smartwatch”..

there are many Apple posters here and on 9 to 5 Mac who are extremely sensitive to price. Even mentioning an incremental price rise on Any Apple product sends some here into an emotional frenzy. This week I have read Posts here that said, “Apple is Greedy”. Apple is “Racist” Apple is a reflection of the WORST of Capitalism. And the attendant slobbering adulation over people of limited means. Acknowledging Education is considered “bragging” and the Class divide is also a common discomfort for some posters here.. One emotionally distraught poster declared that if anyone is supporting Apple at this point, they are NOT part of HIS Apple.

I’m going to meditate now and Re-read passages from Walter Isaacson’s Steve Jobs bio.

Cheers
