Eh in times where sunflower oil increased from 0,79 cent to 4,99 Euro, I fully expect a price hike across the Apple board in the fall
To be fair, that sunflower oil comes from a war zone for your market. I suspect that all sunflower exports from Ukraine are blocked at this time.

Focus on the mass market, not the minority space. Oh, what's that? Not enough profit?
They already have Apple Watch products aimed at the mass market. This would be in addition to those, and aimed at people who spend similar amounts on Garmin Fenix/Epix, Coros Vertix, etc.

Its kinda sad everyone is missing the point of an extreme sports watch :D this isn't for the average person that runs 2-5 miles a day. This is for ironman training. No professional trains using an apple watch

The Euro is also down a lot, almost on par with the dollar. Apple could literally increase the price by about 20% (in Euro) to keep making the same money with exchange rates in mind. They did something similar in Japan recently

Apple did not become the most valuable company in the world (or close) by developing for the Mass Market.

The iPhone and iPad say otherwise. Sure they have a few extra trinkets that sell in far fewer numbers but they are at this point making their money from the mass market in the main.

And there are many part time second jobs out there for the ambitious.

And there we have it. Just because someone says something a sheeple does not like they are all of a sudden poor and can't afford an Apple product. Sad that people like you still exist with that attitude.

Franky, I think Apple needs to decide whether this rumoured rugged model is simply a more robust AW or a true sport watch.

For it to resonate with athletes and succeed beyond Apple fanboys, it will need to improve on metrics (even more than watchOS9) such as recovery time, on-device training, race course predictions, etc. Additionally, athletes prefer buttons over touch displays. And buttons are things Apple looks to remove.

Of course given Apple's marketing prowess and reach, even limited success is relative. So even if it's the same design with a larger titanium casing, it will be sell in the millions.

..or Apple could simply omit any substantial upgrades to the $399 S8 and put them all in the $499-$999 Watch Pro (S8) along with a slightly bigger battery and all the materials and color options that you'd actually want while the $399 still only gets the cheap-ish dark aluminium colors, sans a good black, of course.

I'm afraid those are Apple's plans for the 22' Watch line-up.

Apple doesn't have to impress as much anymore. It can just omit and segment everything to the Pro models like what we're going to see for iPhone 14.

Well there’s always hope for a slightly improved AW SE that still comes in space grey.

Seeing what they able to achieve with the current Apple Watch (which is not much). I hope this product fails so much because of the price, this is crazy.

Pro only by name. An Apple Watch made for professional-level athletes would require a complete redesign/rethink.
  • Bigger battery
  • Lower screen resolution
  • Separate chip that prioritizes power efficiency over performance
  • At least 3 buttons
  • Screen with a lip all around to reduce chances of screen cracking
  • More metrics
  • Improved data analytics - fitness/stress levels, recovery rate etc.

If you’re only wearing the Garmin when doing physical fitness activities why does the 7+ days of battery life matter? I would assume when you’re not wearing it it would be on a charger?

Because I go hiking or biking, or ski touring for many days at a time. Daily charging isn’t practical- especially as I need to wear the watch 24/7 for some of these events.

Wow, are you on Apples’s design team?

I guess if you want it, and have money to burn, go for it. Aluminum (space gray) does me just fine. 🤷
And the beauty of going for that model is you could upgrade yearly if you wanted to and it wouldn't ding the wallet as much. Trading in the previous base model gives almost as much as trading in a higher end.

And sadly there will be people who buy it because there is an Apple logo on it… not that it is superior quality or workmanship. If you want one of these watches now, just get the cheapest series 7 and dress it up in one of the many rugged cases/straps that are available to you… which by the way covers almost all of the watches exterior… no one seems to be interested in value for $ anymore - or maybe its just not being taught in our education system… basic economics…
