Hmmm dunno. On my phone it's under the "Watch Now" and then scroll down to Apple Event, and then the "Time Flies" shows. Do you see that? If not, you might try closing the app and rebooting your phone?
Yeah I did try rebooting my phone. Its not listed under "Watch Now". If I search for it, i get all previous events but not todays event

What in the world is going on with Apple TV hardware that would necessitate delays? Really strange. (I know this isn’t one most people are really pining for, I’m just curious. I skipped the 4K so I’m mildly interested).

What is it that everyone is waiting for in AppleTV? Or in other words, why does everyone want or need an update? I have an old ATV 2nd or 3rd gen (not being used); I used to have an ATV HD, gave that away to a family member bc they needed one and I was able to pick an ATV 4K for about $100; although I have 4k TVs, it's actually not even hooked up to that TV, but rather to my main older Plasma TV which is one of my main TVs. Anyways, question is, what do you need in a newer ATV? The ATV4K that I have works perfectly fine.

Also would be pretty wild if the Apple Watch SE is basically an Series 5– unless they price it higher.

No, as pointed out above, it will at best be an AW4, with maybe even another feature or two removed.

If I'm not mistaken, AW S4 and S5 are practically the same. The S5 only brought always-on display. Even the chip was not significantly different.

Removing features so they can sell for less is a great idea. Many of AW's features are US centric. Many countries don't even get fall detection, eSIM support, ECG, etc. So imo it's a good idea to cut on some features and refresh the S3 with the updated look.

Well that's bizarre. Dunno what else to try. Other than maybe waiting a while and see if it shows up. Anyone else got any ideas?

For my part, it’s just what I said— curiosity. I’m not really in the market for a new AppleTV per se. I might like to see them do something interesting with it, though I don’t really expect much.

Series 5 also doubled the internal storage to 32 gb.

I'm very happy with my Series 1, all I kinda want is the bigger screen and the watch faces with more complications.

A) AppleTV is low on the product upgrade priorities list
B) Hardware is sufficient for current needs of most users
C) Building more powerful AppleTV with A14 chip is overkill
D) Due to covid, production delays meant no new content on AppleTV+ to justify a new release.
E) All of the above

""- iPad Air 4th Gen: A14 and USB-C""

No way the ipad air will be the first A14 device....100% its non-sense
The first device based on 5nm A14 will be the iphone, and ipad pros will get maybe the A14X and the macbook
While you could be right, I dearly hope you are wrong.

Why? Well I think it's fairly obvious to assume that Pre-COVID the plan was to release both the iPad Air and iPhone together at the same Sept event. In that scenario it's perfectly reasonable that both would get the new A14 chip. But due to COVID the iPhone is delayed a few weeks but the iPad is ready to go. Options A) delay the iPad B) degrade the iPad to A13 C) iPad introduces A14.

I agree with you typically the iPhone will get all the new goodies, but if Apple truly make the iPad Air worse for everybody who buys one over the next several years simply because it came out a few weeks before the iPhone, that would just seem immature and hostile to customers.

I'm holding out hope for a killer feature for Series 6 that hasn't leaked. The Apple Watch is clearly the centre-piece of this event, unless we're missing something. Merely bumping up the chip and adding a niche feature like blood oxygen tracking will not be enough to justify the hype; Apple doesn't want a bunch of underwhelmed headlines today. If Series 6 were part of an iPhone launch, then that'd be different, you could smuggle in a minor watch upgrade.

I can't really say I'm excited about this event -- though I'll still watch. I'm not planning on upgrading my S5 and I just replaced my Air 3 via AC+.

Hoping Apple at least announces when iOS 14 will be released.

Well if the watch is coming out soon then iOS 14 will have to come out first. I'd expect the gold master today as none of the watches will work on any iOS besides 14.

A few thoughts and comments on AW from someone who's read all the comments.

1. I don't understand how people say that AW4 and AW5 are the same thing! I guess these people never wore real watches prior to getting an AW, like I have 24/7/365 for 30-35 years or so. Always On screen is what finally, in my mind, allows one to call the AW a "watch".

2. All rumors seem to point to AW SE being in the "new" AW4/5 case/design. So it's relatively simple, it will be that case/design, it will be cheaper by having the older screen that does not allow for Always On; it will have a processor that's likely at least one (or possibly two) generation(s) behind AW6; it will surely be lacking some features like EKG and definitely the new oxygen sensor, but not sure how many other "fitness" related features will be taken out as Apple correctly now calls this a health/fitness device (especially if they're also rolling out a new fitness app w/ subscription), but they will likely take out a few other features out of it (for ex: does Apple still sell AW3 in LTE or is it just Wifi now?); it will surely be made either out of aluminum (cheapest material previously offered) or possibly but unlikely even some sort of plastic/polycarbonate.
Exactly this. Not sure why the rumor mill is treating this like it’s some new product. And everyone saying $199...that’s the current price of the series 3. So this is just a series 3 replacement that maybe gets a new marketing name.

Yeah it is weird. I am in the UK and interestingly, on the Apple UK website, it directs me to the US site for the live stream so I am wondering if the broadcast will be for the regional US App only

I am most interested in how iPad Air 4 and iPad Pro 2020 will be differentiated. I expect A14 to be significant jump in processing power (since macs will get that too), so could put A12X/Z (and iPP 2020) in the shadow.

Oh...that must be it! Good Luck!

I guess I'm not too surprised. Keeping the 3 around and slotting the SE in between the 3 and 6 price-wise.
