5.8" & 6.3" iPhone and 6.3" and 6.9" iPhone Pro seems like a nicely balanced lineup.I also believe a 5.8” iPhone display screen is an ideal size for a lot of people.
Yep, that's what Apple do. Keep increasing the size incrementaly so that you get used to it and don't complain. This way they can claim larger battery, bigger screen. Hiw much larger do they want the phone, it's getting rediculous. There's a poont where it stops being portable and won't even fit comfortably in your pocket.I love it! You get used to the smartphone screen size after a while
We’ve already long since passed that point…three years ago.Yep, that's what Apple do. Keep increasing the size incrementaly so that you get used to it and don't complain. Going by the leaked CAD drawings, the aspect ratio will be 20:9 instead of the current 19.5:9. This will recover the vertical space that was lost in the notch-to-pill transition (see picture below) and re-enable 18:9 videos to play unobstructed by the pill, as was possible pre-pill with the notch models.Still not a single word on Aspect Ratio.
I still mourn the loss of light-weight iPhones every time I pick up my old 113 g 1st-gen SE.Back when Apple didn't follow the herd.
Fact of the matter Is far more people prefer larger phones, it doesn't mean there's anything wrong with preferring a more compact phone, but at this point we've seen pretty definitively through the relative popularity of the 12 and 13 mimi as opposed to the larger phones that the vast majority of the market prefers big phones.I can see Tim Cook now, on stage, saying, "The new iPhone 16 – now larger than ever".
And to me, it sounds a bit like a desperate move. Where can they go with the iPhone bearing in mind there's a dearth of actually innovative new features for the past five years? Why, just make it bigger.
I think what's happening, too, is that moves like this push people into polarising. Some people like big screens. So, that's cool. Some people, though, like mini phones. Quite a sizeable number of people, in fact.
All of this is wringing the last few drops out of the iPhone as a category, pending a new technology like AR/VR... In some fashion.
Actually, I do carry around an iPad mini 6 quite often, thank you.Just carry a @$%^$%ing iPad at this point.
Back when they were getting left in the dust for screen size. If big phones weren't popular they wouldn't sell but they are still selling extremely well so the market has clearly spoken, the majority don't want miniature phones that could fit in a Christmas cracker. People want to take photos, view photos/videos and browse the web, this is not enjoyable on a tiny screen.
I do all of those things just fine on my 13 mini. And it’s small and light enough to fit in my pocket and actually be a mobile phone.Back when they were getting left in the dust for screen size. Yeah, that seems to be overdue. Unless they feel the UI doesn’t need a major overhaul.I hope they have some new UI changes to go wth those big screen sizes coz the current decade+ old icon layout needs a revamp.
because people won't buy it, at least in numbers large enough to make it a worthwhile business decision, the price difference would be negligible at most if there isn't one at all and people perceive it as getting less for their money. Why does Apple limit the Pro models to the increased size? The iPhone Pro is already too large for many people to reach one-handed. A 5.7" display would be perfect.
that's fine, that's your personal preference, but many more people prefer a larger phone.I do all of those things just fine on my 13 mini. And it’s small and light enough to fit in my pocket and actually be a mobile phone.
If and when I need a bigger screen, I’ll use an iPad, Mac, or TV — a device appropriately sized for its purpose.
So how do you carry around these big phones? Do the fit in your pocket? What about when you sit down and the phone is in your pocket. Or does everyone just keep in the their hand all day?Fact of the matter Is far more people prefer larger phones, it doesn't mean there's anything wrong with preferring a more compact phone, but at this point we've seen pretty definitively through the relative popularity of the 12 and 13 mimi as opposed to the larger phones that the vast majority of the market prefers big phones.
Giving customers what they want isn't a bad thing
Jobs is gone, Ive is fired. Who should be designing these products, the ones who approved Mac Studio?!
i’ve had a blackberry pearl, iPhone 4, iPhone 6, iPhone X, iPhone XS Max, and now iPhone 13 Pro Max and i haven’t changed anything how I use my phone. So how do you carry around these big phones? The minis weren't popular, and were discontinued for that reason, idk why we are talking about this. You like a smaller phone that's fine. Larger phones are more popular and Apple is a businessI imagine Apple sells more standard size than larger size. Both in Pro and standard iPhones.
Big isn’t necessarily better.
