Better to apply marginal and relevant improvements as opposed to change for the sake of change.
The last couple of years’ releases have felt not-fully-baked.

They haven’t had a big design change in years…
Does Apple really need to have a major design change? They’ve never been dramatic with changes, it’s typically very conservative. Familiarity seems to be more the slow & steady course -v.s.- we need to overhaul the entire OS, which is not how Apple operates.

Could you imagine how nice it would have been if Apple announced they weren't going to do the annual iOS change this year?

There’s not really much I would change about notifications. Sync read status across devices, allow me to set global defaults (e.g. don’t enable sound/vibration unless I explicitly want it for a given app); other than that they do what I need already.

i still desperately want the ability to disable audio from every app except the app of my choice. Too often, I’ll be listening to music and some crappy web site or app will interrupt me. I would prioritise that over basically any other bug fix or update.

Don’t expect too much and you won’t be disappointed
Mark Gurman has a good source
But as soon I see that word ‘significant’ I know it’s not so
Time will tell

Call me crazy, but... what else can really be done to notifications? Tweaks, sure, but there's nothing they can do that would be significant for me. Plus, how many times can you "significantly" overhaul the same thing that at its core will work the same no matter how you go about it...?

Feels like another year of cop-out "features" is on its way.
Android notifications are quite different and better in some ways

hope it’s a overhaul for notifications , and for the love of God please add restrictions to people for Apple Homekit seriously it’s nice having family control devices in the home but I want restrictions for certain rooms like my own

Apple can copy what’s on Android.

In iOS, notification of each app is either on or off. Either you enable all notifications, or you disable them completely. On Android, each app can have categories of notifications, so I can fine tune which specific notification I want off, while allowing the rest. For example, I would want shipping notifications from an e-commerce, but I wouldn’t want marketing notifications. This can be fine tuned on Android. It’s handy to be able to control this on the OS level.

How about iOS and iPadOS parity already? When is a native weather and calculator app going to arrive on iPadOS for starters. Files app needs a major overhaul. A child’s account or guest account or mode. Why does Apple take forever with these basic features does Tim Cook expect a parent to purchase a separate iPad for a toddlers and guests. Does this not go counter to the green message?
Well duh. Apple wants you to have a separate iDevice for each person. This is completely green for Apple, as green as the dollars can be. ;)

I hope no redesign means finally a stable release free of bugs… HomeKit is a mess. Siri is a mess. Hoping they are focusing on fixing those things. Having to jump through hoops or figure out what command Siri likes this week is getting really old.
HomeKit, especially on the watch, needs a lot of work. The problem is, I’m not even sure what to suggest as far as improvements go…

At this point is settle for the music app not mixing up all the album art.

Since most of all major iOS/iPadOS apps aren't really ported or supported macOS, it would be nice if Apple can somehow manage this issue. Such as unifying and auto adjustable UI and control base on the OS and allow one app to use on different platforms. But so far, it's just a dream.

Currently, mobile app developers aren't even considering to support macOS because of low market share and users. For example, Alien Isolation released for Intel Mac was ported to iOS/iPadOS but it never ported to Apple Silicon Mac. Same thing for Genshin Impact. Among Us works in macOS but the UI and control is totally terrible since it's not even optimized and ported well for Mac.

Using mobile apps on Mac isn't really great and Apple should really need to improve it. Naver Whale already supports mobile app on desktop so technically, it's not possible. It's just about the market share and profitability which Mac sucks for.

But If Apple can manage this issue, then they can increase more benefits from it especially since Windows 11 also trying to bring mobile apps to PC as well in full version.

One thing that would be nice, if they announce a new feature, try and release it with the final version rather than holding things back for 6 months, aka Universal Control

Agreed! Look at what happen when Apple tried to make a drastic change in Safari back in the 1st beta… there was so much push back. I for one… was happy with the change, but more than half wanted Safari reverted back. Especially for Safari on the Mac and iPadOS.

That's just how iOS development is these days. They announce a set of features they have planned for the next major release and release them when they are ready. This is much better than having to crunch and get everything ready at the same date, with all the bugs that brings with it.

Major? No. Complete functions? Yes.
Apple is conservative usually with functions then rolls out a bit more here and there leaving us wondering if we will ever get the full function. Usually we never get more than a taste.

Give us decent synced notifications across all devices if we want them.
As for health … not sure what more they want to add at this point without updated hardware.

It’s just gonna give them a chance to throw a lot of devices under the bus.
Goodbye iPhone 6S, 7, 8, X, SE.

Health tracking features? Like trying to force people to upgrade to fitness+? For the longest time, when I asked Siri to start a workout with my airpods on, it used to launch that workout on my apple watch. Very logical. Nowadays, it tells me to unlock my iPhone and when I do, it launches fitness+.

Apple has officially been taken over by bean counters. I can’t wait until Apple stock drops 30% and Tim Cook is forced out.

I've been really mad at how hard they've made joining and ending FaceTime calls lately. It should not be a tiny tap target in the upper right corner. The banner is fine for switching modes, but join and end should be a bigger button in the lower portion of the screen.
