Can you jailbreak the latest version? I didn’t think so.

Correct. A11 devices and under can be jailbroken using checkra1n up to 14.8.1. A12-13 can be jailbroken using uncover up to 14.8.

There is a jailbreak in the works that will include all devices from 15-15.1.1. ETA soon.

They should just remove LiDAR it’s a waste of space in an iPhone
Does your iPhone have LIDAR? It is hardly a waste of space.

I have 13 Pro Max. Currently the only way to use LiDAR is in the Clips app with "AR Spaces". The room is scanned, then effects applied. LIDAR could be used in macro shots for texture and depth and 3D main object scanning. It could be used to scan objects…or one’s foot or face

What about fixing existing bugs in safari, iCloud sync or adding more counties supported to Fitness + or swipe for other language keyboards… nah, we will create new apps and new bugs related to them… FFS Apple why you became Xiaomi

I think they have effectively boxed themselves in. They have to come up with *something* new for the release. Maybe some 'features' are grasping at straws, and others are just 'feature bait', but with the unrelenting schedule the industry seems to be hell bent to adhere to, almost anything could be labeled 'NEW!!!' and provide *someone* with an excuse to upgrade. Fixing past mistakes sometimes (often?) seems to take a back seat. Haven't they actually upgraded apps and reintroduced a few older bugs a few times? Nothing is entirely bug-free, but...

I hope they move away from the Weather Channel for sourcing weather info in the app. It is consistently incorrect to the point where it is laughable, in my area anyways. The app could tell me it's "raining for the next 45 mins", when in actuality it's partly sunny and dry.

I would like to see some serious improvements to Apple Mail which is probably one of the most used apps in one of the least supported.

PREACH!!!

I was just going into what seems to be my hourly rant about what a complete POS the Mail app is, and yet feel like I can't dump it. I remember my mom was so frustrated with Mail, she dumped her iCloud address, and was using her local ISP's. (Until it was hacked, which was kind of funny 'But I'm not sending porn! Honest!!'. She switched back, but the complaining continued)

Only a few things I’d like…
Focus on bug fixes and performance
RCS support for messages. I have a lot of friends on Android and this would make both of our experiences texting more secure and overall just better in general

No kidding. One day last year: 'Rain in the evening, starting around 8PM, otherwise partly to mostly sunny. Highs in the mid-70's.'

It was low 60's, IF THAT, and rained at 3:30. For the rest of the day too!!! Prior to that, it was overcast and fugly. Thanks Weather Channel. I crashed on the slick asphalt, because I foolishly thought that those clouds wouldn't rain on me (The WC said it wouldn't), and I was trying to get back to the car. 'Lovely day' that turned into a pavement party. (My bike was fine) (10 years ago the local meteorologist announced 'a sunny and warm day! Go out and enjoy the warmth!'. It clouded up before the news cast ended, and started raining by 9:30. It rained all day. She apologized the next morning. Oops. Missed it by that much...:p:D:cool:)

Honestly, I’m out of ideas for something new or different in iOS that would be a significant improvement for me personally.

Seems like we’ve solved the big problems and now we’re just innovating on the small margins.

1000% this. The Apple Watch tells even completely different forecasts for the same location. It is ridiculous.

It would be nice to have multiuser capability on iOS and iPadOS.
For now I have to use several browsers to maintain several accounts from the same websites.
Would be nice just to use a gesture and switch to another user account. It’s certainly not a storage or memory problem or performance.
Between dropping support for older iPhones (series 6/7) that utilize old bluetooth 4.2 and 2GB RAM, I think we are looking at finally stepping away from the old fashion static icon array we been stuck with for awhile. I hope this prediction is right, because of all the disappointment surrounding M1 iPad Pros and eh same GUI in iOS 15.5.

It would be nice if iOS 16 adds a "force sync" for Apple Notes to update them between devices and iCloud. When entering a password, at times, I must switch between 3 keyboard layouts for certain symbols. What about adding an option to switch to a blank row (where the icons of "Photo", "App store", etc. sit now) to add frequently used symbols on the main keyboard screen?

How about a music app that plays FLAC files

This is a strange situation. On one hand I understand, Apple has ALAC (flac equivalent), their own lossless format which have been open source since 2011, and it makes sense that they use it on their own streaming service and devices.

But on the other hand, Mac OS and IOS already support FLAC natively, just not in the music app. So it would make sense to add complete support for it and avoid the extra step of having to convert FLAC to ALAC (a matter of seconds per file, but still).

Agree with most of your post, but the App Store calculator apps all suck for one reason.
Calculators don't usually randomly have ads pop up and bother you.
Also, Apple bought DarkSky, they should absolutely bring a weather app to the iPad.
Outside of that, I agree.
You could always pay for one without ads. Data services cost money to access.

I just want split-screen in portrait mode. This feature is so convenient on my S22 Ultra and all my previous Android phones.
I don’t think that particularly useful, but can also say why not? At this point I would prefer floating windows that can be snapped to a ‘spaces’ like set up or put back to floating, regardless of orientation. With drag and drop.

That and a decent file system that interacts properly with MS Server.
