“Our innovation has plateaued for close to a decade and our only option, a facelift, has leaked. Put something out there to keep them excited.”

Edit: it’s official, I’m apple cynical. I’ve become such a hater :( the good news is I’m still not switching to Android as of yet.

This is what, the 20th different article on Macrumors in half as many days about a rumored redesign?

Feels like the Apple punditry is going to make 2/3 of their yearly revenue on this single topic.

Maybe I’m cynical but I wouldn’t doubt that Apple itself is seeding these rumours in order to shift talk away from the iOS 18 debacle to an iOS 19 redesign.

All these rumors and speculations are just a waste of time. At least for me.
It's better to wait for WWDC to find out the real design.
Why get worried or angry for something we don't know for sure is going to happen?
The pointless rumors are the entertainment. Now we get some drama too! When will tickets be available for Prosser v Gurman? Maybe I can catch the pay per view

Once again, Prosser has been proven to be incorrect.

Don’t know why he keeps getting away with it…

At this point, everyone should know that Prosser’s revelations should be take with a HUUUUUUUUGGGGGGGE GRAIN OF SALT!!!!
Nothing has been proven yet and Prosser has been 70% accurate, so he does get most stuff right.

If anything Gurman has the weirdest take. Prosser came out with the iOS 19 Vision OS inspired leak first, then Gurman shortly after confirmed it, by saying the same thing. Now today Gurman is being petty and nit picking Prosser's leak saying the real iOS looks a little different than what Prosser showed today... even though Prosser said in the video that what he showed altered to protect sources.. so yeah it was intentionally made to look different. Then Gurman goes on to say Prosser made it all up... So basically calling Prosser a liar.. yet Gurman reported the same thing right after Prosser.. but Gurman didn't make it up, he was legit... such a bizarre take from Gurman. He has this weird thing where he thinks he is the most professional leaker, and everyone else is beneath him, yet at the same time he has a shell of glass and gets emotionally shattered by anything and everyone. He needs to work on self confidence and stop trying to compensate by attacking others in the same industry as him. There is no doubt Gurman is one of the top leakers and he is more accurate than Prosser, but he comes off so insecure. It is really sad because if you listen to other leakers including Prosser, though they may joke around with Gurman, they also make it very clear that Gurman is one of the best leakers in the business. Gurman can't seem to give it back, he is smug with everyone else and is always happy to jump on top of other sources and say they are wrong.. however he himself is wrong 13% of the time, but never acknowledges it and pretends like his errors never happened.

Not sure which one will be correct. Anyway expecting to see lot of changes. Waiting to hear more about it in the coming months.

The iOS 19 mockup images that leaker Jon Prosser shared today are not representative of the actual iOS 19 design, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman said on social media.

Generic-iOS-19-Feature-Mock.jpg

According to Gurman, the images that are "floating around" are based on "very old builds" or "vague descriptions," and are lacking key features. Gurman says that we can "expect more from Apple in June."

Gurman made the same comment about Prosser's mockups in his Power On discord channel. "He either has very old screenshots or hasn't seen the real thing," wrote Gurman.

Prosser shared mockups that are supposedly based on the "real deal version" of iOS 19 that he has seen, but the images feature a limited number of design changes. The Messages app mockup, for example, shows slight changes to the navigation buttons and a more rounded keyboard, while the Lock Screen has few changes beyond updates to translucency.

Prosser said that apps, menus, settings, and more will have a more rounded aesthetic with glass-like styling modeled after visionOS, which we've also heard from Gurman and other sources.

In his video, Prosser downplayed the changes and said that there are no signs of significant new additions beyond the minor design tweaks he demoed, but Gurman previously said that Apple's update will "fundamentally change" the look of the operating system, marking the biggest design refresh to iOS since iOS 7.

Gurman has not provided specific details on the changes that Apple is planning to make, but he has said that Apple will update the style of icons, menus, apps, windows, and system buttons, with a look that is "loosely based" on the Vision Pro interface.

This MUST be the biggest joke of this year already in march :-D
The man that cant even predict his own birthday starts to command other "predictors"
Further then "the comming months" he didnt come (which in fact was a year and 3 months)
But atleast he got his name mentioned again on macrumors.

I would say it makes sense to bring the OS together visually and as AVP is the newest UI it’s logical to assume the others will follow the flat glass semi translucent design. Bit strange that a niche product sets the tone but that is what race cars are for - testing ground for the mainstream. Bringing it together is just OS economy.
If it looks like Prosser’s mockups it will be quite kitschy, really not a step forward. If it looks more like the Vision OS it will be pretty good.
But the main thing is: A re-themed system without changes and improvements to the UX itself but rather just a new skin on an otherwise old structure would be very un-Apple and feel massively like what Windows has been doing for years…pure, desperate cosmetics. It would be a new low point after the poor integration of AI to an otherwise stale OS economy in 18, seems like the wheels are falling off.

It is more than that in my opinion, the all UX is about to get a major overhaul with no tab bars and no navigation bars, something like the new photos app UX.

I understand people trashing German for how vague some of his reporting can be, but his leaks are still far more accurate than anything from the likes of Kuo and especially this clown.

Agreed.

Gurman breaks more stories than anyone in the industry and it's not close. He has unprecedented sources at Apple.

Having said that, it's also true that he is often vague (as you say) and gets several rumors wrong without ever acknowledging or correcting his reporting when he is proven wrong.

If he acknowledged his mistakes, he'd be a lot easier to stomach, but even as it is, there's no way to ignore Gurman when it comes to Apple rumors.

I really don't care about a complete iOS redesign. I just want Apple to revert the photos app changes and fix that mess.

Prosser does not have a good track record indeed. However, what is Gurman basing his opinion on? If he had actually seen anything, he could probably present his own, more accurate, mockups. If not, his opinion is as useful as ours.

At least we can now interpret the new colourful and translucent WWDC image (Apple’s own creation) any way we like. 😉

Why get worried or angry for something we don't know for sure is going to happen?
Because the site is called macrumors and not macestablishedfacts

Prosser's designs reminded me of that Palm phone from 2009. It would be great if Apple actually did something bold, ie iOS7-kind of bold, obviously with a different take. Although I hope it won't be just a glossed over copy of Android.

Why is anyone listening to that dude?
I can just start spewing random stuff I think might come out in the future and people can call me Prosser.
Does he make money out of this?

His redesigns are basically a rounded button on messages app.

It can be an unpopular opinion, but I will admit good UI refresh is one of the things that can make your device feel the freshest.
I hope it'll be a good redesign.

Whilst the Glassmorphic redesign is most probably true, I cannot think of one instance when we have ever had a leak ahead of the reveal of a new iOS version. I’m probably wrong on that one and happy to be proven so, but it does seem a bit suss that these aren’t just mockups.
