Make it thick enough to have a head phone jack on the back. Mr. Aesthetics Ive really messed that one up.
My God! I think everybody on this forum can make the same kind of speculations that there will be a larger screen iMac with a processor that's not the M1. What a hack and Bloomberg pay money for this?!!“I…believe”

What a ridiculous non-story, backed by literally nothing.
"Intel will replace 27" Intel iMac with...something."
Unlikely - even though it will be more power-hungry than the M1, the M1X/M2/M2X/whatever will probably be significantly more efficient than an Intel desktop-class processor, and any new iMac design is likely to take full advantage of that in its cooling design. If Apple offered the new 27 inch iMac in two configurations:
Well they need to hurry up and drop a REAL and affordable desktop... Years of waiting... enough already. Release a desktop that isn't a toy before I jump ship.
A larger redesigned, Apple silicon-powered iMac to replace the current 27-inch Intel model is still "en route," according to Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman.

Writing in the latest instalment of his Power On newsletter, Gurman says the fact that Apple recently increased the screen size for the smaller iMac from 21.5 to 24 inches suggests to him that the 27-inch model could see an equivalent size increase.
Apple has been working on a larger iMac with in-house processors for some time, but development of that version was reportedly paused to let Apple focus on releasing the redesigned 24-inch model, which was announced in April.
The 27-inch Intel models that remain in Apple's lineup launched in August 2020, suggesting they are reaching the end of their production cycle.
A new larger iMac would likely ape several changes that debuted in the latest 24-inch model, such as a thinner overall design, studio-quality microphones, and of course more powerful Apple silicon processors replacing Intel.
In a separate newsletter tidbit, Gurman also played down the idea that Apple could bring Touch ID to the Apple Watch one day. Gurman conceded that he could see the utility of Touch ID in the Apple Watch to approve app and media download payments, but said he didn't see that happening "any time soon, if ever."

I just appreciate that it even got a mention. It's been awful quiet lately on the bigger imac's front. What a ridiculous non-story, backed by literally nothing.
Yes, this is very obvious.Mark Gurman makes safe and obvious prediction.

While it may be French in origin, I've seen this term used widely as "normal" and not "exotic" in American English. English, as a language, is highly adaptable. As a French dude, "en route" term make me smile. Why using this when you have plenty of terms to say the exact same thing ?
I guess jounalists like sometimes take the exotic "route" just to appear a bit more original 🤓
yeah, but everyone made this same argument when the iPad was released—"feature X will never happen, would never usurp their Laptop feature" Or "iPhone feature Y will never happen cause of the iPad". And most argued, OS unification will never happen and here we are on the cusp with iOS app running on MacOS.Apple Pencil will remain exclusive to iPads for all time, just as the iPad will never in a million years get macOS or anything close to that.
The only way Apple will ever let you do any kind of touch or Pencil on your Mac is through features like SideCar or the up-coming Universal Control in macOS Monterey.
If Apple put any of the main features of iPads or iPhones onto Macs then they would cannibalise their own sales.
A business can easily convince consumers to buy several smaller devices that do one or two things well and cost a few hundred dollars or so, or $1000-$2000 per device at most. But it is indefinitely harder to sell one do-it-all device at a price of several thousand dollars.
If you want a desktop with a pencil or touch input then you'll have to find another brand than Apple.
Why do French people say "week-end" all the time whereas they can say "Fin de semaine"?As a French dude, "en route" term make me smile. Why using this when you have plenty of terms to say the exact same thing ?

As a British dude, I have to concur with my American cousins and say en route is not just some journalistic flight of fancy but a fairly common expression in everyday speech and has been for a long time in English. As a French dude, "en route" term make me smile. If Apple offered the new 27 inch iMac in two configurations:
- M1X / M2X
- Intel processor + nvidia GPU
which on would sell more?
A lot of us use external speakers or audio systems with our iMacs, so we would have a plug sticking out of the side full time with the new models.Put the headphone jack on the side, not the back. I mean bluetooth is the future, but if you're going to put in a jack put it someplace that's easy to plug/unplug...just like the SD card reader.
If you're going to have a multiple-screen setup, connectors on the side are a problem. You can please some of the people some of the time...Put the headphone jack on the side, not the back.
