It takes 100`s of millions of $$$ to re-tool and design every aspect of Apple products and people on here still insult apple engineers and product designers every time something new comes out. I just don't get it.
3 trillion dollars every year.. 1000`s of personal to get just one year of products out the door.
Think about it people. Stop the madness.
“Personnel”

But yes, for sure. We are much more expectant than we probably should be. There’s nothing wrong with having high standards, no. But sometimes we’re just too precious with ourselves.

Well, imagine how many of us 'don't get it' if and when they appear to pay such exorbitant costs to achieve something fairly petty (further miniaturizing what was already a very small desktop computer) instead of something very useful (e.g.: add an internal SSD bay for DIY storage upgrades with much cheaper 3rd party storage).

It's a rehash of the Intel-era iMac development over time years ago; boast about making it slightly thinner...when it was a desktop system not carried around...and in use viewed from the front where thinness isn't even evident.
You make some good points here.

But sometimes, it’s the users that set the expectations. The megahertz wars of a couple decades ago. The race to thin a decade ago. We’re never happy, even when we’re buying the heck out of a product.
