why? They have pretty much zero competition in the super expensive premium tablet space. Very few people are in the market for $1200 tablets, it’s a niche market, most people will opt for a really nice laptop at those prices.

Just like the iPad Mini, it’s a niche space that Apple owns. That’s why they can go 4 years between updates. They could easily keep the 2020 iPad Pro for another year and it would still be the best tablet on the market in its space. What does the A14 do that the 12X can’t?
That is a fair point. In single core performance, the A14 is a bit faster (at least on paper). The A12X/A12Z is more powerful in multicore and GPU performance, but not by much. Everything else about the 2018/2020 iPad Pro is better from a spec comparison than the iPad Air, but I simply cannot imagine Apple essentially not upgrading the iPad Pro from October 2018 to 2022. The 2020 iPad Pro is not really an upgrade over the 2018 in terms of how Apple has upgraded every other iPad Pro previously.

How many of you have to update your iPhone because if you don't you won't be able to update the OS and because of that, you loose any kind of support if something happens to your iPhone. I have to and I can't wait. I have had my 6s since a day after the official launch. It will be five years in September.( My first iPhone (the 5c) kicked the bucket a little after two years after buying it.)

Is that a serious question? I had both phones before selling the SE. The Mini is a premium device, the SE is a budget device and it feels that way when using both.

Mini has:

Larger 5.4 inch display
OLED display
Larger battery
Ultra wide camera
Better quality main camera
Better quality front facing camera
Dolby Vision HDR video
5G

All in a smaller and lighter package and I probably forgot some stuff.
An SE without bezels would have pretty much the same screen size as the iPhone mini.

In regard to the premium aspects, wait two years and a used iPhone mini won't be as premium anymore and probably cost something similar to the current SE price. I'm sure you don't dislike the premium features, you just want something cheaper and are willing to forgo those features to get that. Thus, time will solve your problem.

Uh, you can say that about pretty much every iPhone ever.

I'm hoping my 6s will hold out until the new phone is released. It's too late to think about changing the battery and since my 6s won't accept the new update, what's really the point.

True, but signs are starting to point to 23rd.. just seems likely given apples focus on Apple Card atm

I think 23rd is possible... however... they may go for 9th with another Mini event in late March also... it’s hard to predict with these online only events.
