Is that airtag going to be all that useful? So people are so unorganized that they cannot find car keys inside home?

The only way I would buy tag is if it can track my kids via satellite.

I have no problems finding my cars keys,
But some mornings there me walking up & down the road trying to remember where i parked the car :oops::oops:

When was apple event announced last year around this time? My theory is that since lunar new year celebrations in China wrap up this week (big market base obviously) the event gets announced either for the first week of March or event goes live.

No, I don't think we'll see it soon. SE 2 still has an excellent CPU, and 12 mini was released, I don't think there's a place for a new SE model any time soon. Hopefully less than stellar sales of mini will prompt them to discount it.
What are you expecting to see in SE 3?
Yes, but I still think I'd rather wait.
Just a better battery and no bezels, really. If they won't release one I'll go with some Android phone.

It will still be in March/April
Based on what proof. Leakers known to be wrong speculating? iPad Pros release every two years. 2015, 2017, 2018 and 2020. The only reason the smaller iPad Pro saw yearly releases was it going from9.7 inch to 10.5 inch and finally 11 inch, where it only released in 2018 and 2020. There won’t be iPad pros in 2021. Hopefully there will be a new iPad mini though.

Based on all leakers who have sources. Even gurman and kuo have said Q1. If they weren’t coming in March gurman would have said so.
See my edited post above. By the way, they were all wrong when they said iPads were coming last Oct...they don’t know anything, they just guess.

I hope this is just to combat recorded event "fatigue" and that we are getting new products in March regardless. By now, it seems a given WWDC will be online as well so maybe they are simply keeping us from being tired of the format?

PS: Tim if you are reading this, iMac please 🙏

It didn’t come out in October due to delayed mini led production. There will certainly be pros this year. Apple Wants to get their mini led production out. Guess we will find out in the next few months if it happens but I expect it will

someone should just make a poll of when the March event is happening. Seems to be a lot of fluff and hype being built up and there are 5 Tuesdays in March. 1/5 shot of being right!

Yeah 100% all ‘leakers’ will just take the 20% chance of being correct and will just guess the date.

It could be any of the Tuesdays in March, I should imagine it will be earlier rather than later however, only because I feel we may see an event in April too.

March - iPad Pro / iPad Mini / AirTags
April - iPhone SE Plus / Apple TV / AirPods

Right, like I said, he doesn't know anything. If he did, he would have leaked a date already. Look thru his "predictions" on Apple Track. he says there is an event coming like 3 days before it happens. Neat, we already knew that before he said anything.

How many SoC generations was the iPhone ever ahead of the iPad Pro? Below are the SoC generations at launch of the iPhone in the iPhone and the then current iPad Pro (or other top-end iPad):
  • 2020: iPhone 12, A14 vs iPad Pro A12z
  • 2019: iPhone 11, A13 vs iPad Pro A12x
  • 2018: iPhone Xs, A12 vs iPad Pro A10x (iPad updated to A12x one month later)
  • 2017: iPhone X, A11 vs iPad Pro A10x
  • 2016: iPhone 7, A10 vs iPad Pro A9x
  • 2015: iPhone 6s, A9 vs iPad Pro A9x (iPad announced together with the iPhone)
  • 2014: iPhone 6, A8 vs iPad Air A7 (iPad updated to A8x one month later)
  • 2013: iPhone 5s, A7 vs iPad A6x (iPad updated to A7 one month later)
In most years, the iPad was never more than one generation behind the iPhone. Only twice did that move up to two generations (and in one of those occasions that lasted only for one month). It would be extraordinary for Apple to let that rise to three generations this year.

The iPad Pro seems to be roughly on an 18-month cycle, and the current release from early 2020 is only a minor update to the one from late 2018, so a fall 2021 release with an A15X would follow the existing pattern. Not to mention, at that point, the SoC would be three generations behind, which would be rather odd for a "Pro" model.

There’s not a chance Apple waits until the Fall to release a new iPad, let alone doesn’t update it at all this year. That’s a lucrative market for Apple now and the 2020 iPad Pro is essentially a 2018 with upgraded cameras. So they basically have a product that is 2 and a half years old other than LiDAR, which amazing, because other than single core performance, it’s still a much better tablet than the 2020 Air, and a much better tablet than anything else available.

100% the iPP is coming during Q1 2021, they will not wait any longer, their 11” must be really slow moving at the moment with the Air and I am sure they will want a refresh ASAP.

What is the difference between an iPhone mini and an iPhone SE without bezels?
Is that a serious question? I had both phones before selling the SE. The Mini is a premium device, the SE is a budget device and it feels that way when using both.

Mini has:

Larger 5.4 inch display
OLED display
Larger battery
Ultra wide camera
Better quality main camera
Better quality front facing camera
Dolby Vision HDR video
5G

All in a smaller and lighter package and I probably forgot some stuff.

why? They have pretty much zero competition in the super expensive premium tablet space. Very few people are in the market for $1200 tablets, it’s a niche market, most people will opt for a really nice laptop at those prices.

Just like the iPad Mini, it’s a niche space that Apple owns. That’s why they can go 4 years between updates. They could easily keep the 2020 iPad Pro for another year and it would still be the best tablet on the market in its space. What does the A14 do that the 12X can’t?
