Apple does not plan to hold a traditional event to unveil new iPads and Macs, according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman. Instead, he said Apple plans to announce the products on its website with a "series of online videos and marketing campaigns."

If this plan is accurate, we can expect the new products to be announced with press releases on the Apple Newsroom website.

Gurman expects Apple to announce the following products:
  • Two new iPad Pro models with the M3 chip and OLED displays
  • A new Magic Keyboard for the iPad Pro
  • Two new iPad Air models, including a first-ever 12.9-inch model
  • At least one new Apple Pencil
  • New 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Air models with the M3 chip
The new iPad Pro models are expected to be thinner, and they are rumored to be equipped with a landscape-oriented front camera like the iPad 10.

March or April are also common months for Apple to release a new iPhone color, and new colors for iPhone cases and Apple Watch bands.

In terms of timing, Gurman said that Apple is planning to release a "special version" of iOS 17.4 with support for the new hardware at the end of March, leading him to expect the devices to "arrive sometime in March or April." Presumably, there would also be special iPadOS 17.4 and macOS 14.4 versions preinstalled on the new iPads and Macs.

iOS 17.4 includes major changes to the App Store and more in the EU, as a result of the Digital Markets Act. Apple has until March 6 to comply with the Digital Markets Act, in order to avoid fines, so the common belief has been that iOS 17.4 will likely be released by then. The special version would follow later in the month.

The new iPad Pros are just gonna have oled wow nothing groundbreaking, the iPad is still an iPad that doesn’t do much more than a phone I want software to get better
It doesn't need an event and I do want the OS to be improved but OLED is a huge update for the iPad. Might actually buy one again. The LED on my old Pro sucks and MiniLED is awful.

I guess they’ll share product specific videos where necessary (new iPad Pros) but just do basic spec bumps for the MacBook Air and Mac mini.

I really think they’ll want to push the iPad Pro improvements: new thinner and lighter design, better webcam placement, enhanced speaker design, all new accessories that add value to the device.

I would believe this, EXCEPT it comes from Gurman, who is entirely full of ****. He doesn’t know anything, he guesses a lot, and like they say “Even a blind hen finds a kernel of grain occasionally.”

Why MacRumors keep giving this guy any credit is beyond me.

I seem to be in the minority when reading the other comments, but I would have preferred an event. Not because it's necessary, but because I like it. :) I like the build up to the event when the first invitations go out, the livestream and live blogs during the event, the hands-on videos afterwards, etc.

iPads haven't been updated since 2022, so some love for them from Apple would have been nice, haha.

Good! The whole pre-recorded "Life Changing Event"'s are old and boring.
Old already? It started only 3.5 years ago. I find them way more entertaining than having a dude in front of a giant screen that stops talking every phrase waiting for public to cheer over every little thing. Better audio quality, more concise, and Craig’s memes

Well I'm guessing that still means (assuming the rumour is true) that a prerecorded video is possible right?

Which also seems the right way to handle this. There's some big changes and products which require some highlighting and advertising but a massive event for a 'short bit' is not needed either.
