I go between my 7X and my Ultra 2. I like them both for very different reasons - but the cellular on the Ultra 2 when I'm running close to home (and don't want to carry a phone) is the real killer for me. For events I'll almost always choose the Garmin but that gap will keep closing.lol I’ll be just fine over here with my Fenix 8 and it’s massive battery life.
The same could be said about iPhone, iPad, Mac etc … just imagine the uproar hereThey shouldn’t be updating any of these watches yearly. there simply isn’t enough of improvement.
New bands are what I'm most looking forward to from tomorrow! Not sure if I buy that. Why release a new color for a year old product. I could see color refreshes happening mid-cycle but not a full year later. Release the Ultra 3 in two colors with a spec bump and new bands. That seems more Apple-like.
So, Fenix 8 for $1200? Big battery or not, I’ll pass.lol I’ll be just fine over here with my Fenix 8 and it’s massive battery life.
They do this all the time. They often go through long periods of no releases for many of the products in their lineup. The iPhone and Watch really are the exceptions. Every other product line routinely has people complaining about wanting an upgrade. When was the last Apple Mini, AirPod Max, Mac Mini, etc. Hell, Intel has even previously released new generations of their processors and Apple frustratingly didn’t even release new Macs utilizing them. Not sure if I buy that. Why release a new color for a year old product. I could see color refreshes happening mid-cycle but not a full year later. Release the Ultra 3 in two colors with a spec bump and new bands. That seems more Apple-like.
All be it….all speculation based on Gurman’s inside intel…or guessing: If it remains, ”literally” Ultra 2 model…would this not imply no processor upgrade? What are you going to be disappointed for, the watch Ultra or ultra 2 are good enough, an ultra 3 will not going to be much better unless it offers an 8 days plus battery life.
I’ve been waiting to jump back into an Ultra from a Garmin. I am crossing my fingers for an Ultra 3.
my thought as well. If this were the case then s10 would have the same processor as last year. That’s actually typical in the Apple watch world, but previous rumors have mentioned new faster chip. I could see them holding chip an a lot of AI features for the Apple watch until next year when there are NO design changes. Just another way to get people interested in upgrading next year. Plus allows them to focus on AI for the iPhone which undoubtedly is a higher priority.I don’t think this is likely unless there’s no real chip upgrade for the S10 tomorrow (which seems unlikely since Apple will be playing catch-up with its Watch chips over the next couple of years to build towards Apple Intelligence capabilities).
Same here. I’ll be very disappointed if true and perhaps find somewhere else to spend the money I’ve allocated for an AWU3.
I am in the same boat. I need to buy a new one this year and was planning to buy the new Ultra 3... now I wonder a lot about if I should instead just buy the regular 10 and keep my moneyAnd yes…am hoping for potential battery life improvement in both models. I was going to go for an Ultra 3….but if a new black Ultra 2 option…is truly how this plays out…I’ll pivot to the updated AW 10 and accept whatever battery performance it has.
Uh there was going to be a huge difference idiot:I bit too early for a AWU3, no? I mean where barely a difference between AWU1 and 2?
