lol I’ll be just fine over here with my Fenix 8 and it’s massive battery life.
I go between my 7X and my Ultra 2. I like them both for very different reasons - but the cellular on the Ultra 2 when I'm running close to home (and don't want to carry a phone) is the real killer for me. For events I'll almost always choose the Garmin but that gap will keep closing.

Not sure if I buy that. Why release a new color for a year old product. I could see color refreshes happening mid-cycle but not a full year later. Release the Ultra 3 in two colors with a spec bump and new bands. That seems more Apple-like.
They do this all the time. They often go through long periods of no releases for many of the products in their lineup. The iPhone and Watch really are the exceptions. Every other product line routinely has people complaining about wanting an upgrade. When was the last Apple Mini, AirPod Max, Mac Mini, etc. Hell, Intel has even previously released new generations of their processors and Apple frustratingly didn’t even release new Macs utilizing them.

I hope we get another new Ultra watch face. I love the Ultra Wayfinder and Ultra 2 Modular Ultra faces. Especially those in Night Mode.

I have mixed emotions about my watch. I love the watch and it's function but I've been wearing an Apple Watch for almost 9 years and it just feels odd to have something producing nnEMF and bluetooth strapped to the skin all day every day.

What are you going to be disappointed for, the  watch Ultra or ultra 2 are good enough, an ultra 3 will not going to be much better unless it offers an 8 days plus battery life.
All be it….all speculation based on Gurman’s inside intel…or guessing: If it remains, ”literally” Ultra 2 model…would this not imply no processor upgrade?

So Apple Watch 10 gets processor upgrade, larger screen size, new features…but Ultra Watch remains an unchanged….un-updated AWU2?…(maybe in black)…but otherwise…no longer in step with a new AW? It strikes me as a very questionable value proposition.

And yes…am hoping for potential battery life improvement in both models. I was going to go for an Ultra 3….but if a new black Ultra 2 option…is truly how this plays out…I’ll pivot to the updated AW 10 and accept whatever battery performance it has.

I don’t think this is likely unless there’s no real chip upgrade for the S10 tomorrow (which seems unlikely since Apple will be playing catch-up with its Watch chips over the next couple of years to build towards Apple Intelligence capabilities).

my thought as well. If this were the case then s10 would have the same processor as last year. That’s actually typical in the Apple watch world, but previous rumors have mentioned new faster chip. I could see them holding chip an a lot of AI features for the Apple watch until next year when there are NO design changes. Just another way to get people interested in upgrading next year. Plus allows them to focus on AI for the iPhone which undoubtedly is a higher priority.

I kinda hope there is no processor upgrade this year as it will make me more content with sticking with Series 9 another year.

I bit too early for a AWU3, no? I mean where barely a difference between AWU1 and 2?

I WAS TOLD FOR OVER A YEAR THAT THERE WOULD BE A NEW WATCH ULTRA WITH ABSOLUTELY 0 NEW FEATURES OR ENHANCEMENTS COMPARED TO THE PREVIOUS GENERATION.

HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO FEED MY FAMILY?! HOW WILL I KNOW WHEN TO FEED MY FAMILY IF I CAN'T TELL WHAT TIME IT IS BECAUSE MY SERIES 7 KEEPS DYING?

DAMMIT TIM APPLE ANSWER ME!!!!

I am in the same boat. I need to buy a new one this year and was planning to buy the new Ultra 3... now I wonder a lot about if I should instead just buy the regular 10 and keep my money

I love that Gurman can claim he's right if:

  1. Apple Watch Ultra 3 with a chip bump only
  2. Apple Watch Ultra 3 with the same features as the normal redesigned watch
  3. Apple Watch Ultra 3 available in black
  4. Apple Watch Ultra 2 available in black
  5. Apple Watch Ultra 2 available in black and with a chip bump
Since he has predicted all of these separately based on his inside sources in the last 3 weeks. I mean at some point if you predict every single version, I guess you'll hit on one of them and then you can say you predicted it!
