The 'Gather Around' theme around this keynote, could it be hinting to round edges, the round shape of the homepod and other Siri based assistants, new round Apple Watches?
The Steve Jobs theater where it's at is round.

Is his the source the other guy that made up these names for media attention? Changing Plus to Max and the “r” doesn’t make Apple Sense. They haven’t used either in the past on any product line. Now the report of the Xc yesterday does. They have history with that letter/naming scheme.

How is this worthy of being reported. Gurman brings nothing to the table other than a way to get himself published across the internet. He like plenty of others are just speculating. All these articles include references to "tight supplies" of which they have no idea what reality is.

I agree with you on the details of the names, but the meat of his reporting is usually pretty spot on.

What about all the people, who use the current SE just for its size?

I don't want anything bigger than my current SE. Is it so hard to understand for Apple?

All the Apps that I have work wonderful on this 4 inch display, yes it is not as convenient to use safari on it, compared to a bigger phone, but THAT'S IT! Despite the worse "web browsing experience", the small form factor is SO MUCH BETTER in many other ways.

Apple, why don't You give Your customers a real choice? Where is that 4-inch-iPhone X?

I could see an iPhone SE successor in 2019. It's a shame that they abandoned their plans for this year. Though it would be a nice pleasant surprise if there is a 4th iPhone Wednesday.

Xr? Regular? Seriously?

I don't like either name (Xr or Xc). 5c was for color, people mocked it as cheap

There's nothing cheap about a $699 phone

"iPhone Xs" is kind of cringeworthy to be honest. I'll stick to my Huawei P20 Pro, unless this new iPhone is substantially better, which I kind of doubt.

Don't worry. Apple knows the success / market for the SE. I have a feeling that we may see a new SE 'X' style next year. Maybe a 5" or 4.7 in the size of the SE or smaller. Let's see but yeah, strange how 5.8 will be the new smaller - I have the X and it's HUGE!!!!!!!
Plus you have to take into consideration markets - for sure the USA like HUGE TVs, big meals, big waistlines ;) and big phones BUT I go over to Paris every weekend and I've lost count the amount of people using the SE over there. There's a degree of chic to the smaller phone size that the huge phones can't compete on.

Apple should have just done away with numerals, numbers, and letters starting with this year's models.

It ends up being a mouthful of garbled gibberish, which is what we're now seeing.

"iPhone" and "iPhone Pro" are perfectly fine.

Gurman is an extension of Apple's marketing machine and he's on the "in list" at Apple. Was he not one of the trusted sycophants that was invited to the exclusive mMacPro powwow?

Whatever "rumors" Gurman puts out about Apple, are fed directly to him by Apple with their blessing. This is just an Apple marketing ploy designed to whip up the hype.

It’s been 7 years. How much time has to pass before his name stops being invoked?
It's not about how long it has been since Steve died. It's about how long the people invoking his name will themselves live.

Xr. Suppose the "r" is for "really Cheap."

And if you don't call it Xs now, you can't call it "High Xs" next year.
