We get this same piece of news every week (and most of it from Gurman). What's so special about it this time?
We already know and been told the same thing week after week
Yawn, we’ve heard this all before.
ditto!

hopefully Apple also has something in store for the AirPods Max. Would be really nice if they figure out a way to get lossless audio to their premium wireless headphones.
At the very end of the article (which seems to be a recap of a bunch of recent stories that are Apple related) it does mention "at least one new Mac this spring" (not iMac specifically). It gives the link to his previous 1/23 newsletter which was reported here on MacRumors at the time. You're right, it doesn't say 'iMac' specifically though. The headline image in this Macrumors article is the iMac, which is mentioned zero times in the Power On newsletter it liks to
Its been discussed previously that many think the 27" form size is more then large enough but the wasted space around where the LCD display was, allows a bigger display approaching 29.5" like with the 2021 MBP design. The event I still think will be end of April to make it approximately 6 month transition Mac product release intervals. One small detail from Gurman's latest newsletter - at the very end of the page, under 'Post Game Q&A', one of the three questions listed is this one: "Will the next iMac be an update to the current size or be a larger model?".
I wonder if that means that it is not certain that the new 27" iMac replacement will be the same size? Most of the recent reports have omitted any suggestion that a larger iMac could be coming out, but is he trying to hint that it may actually be possible??
That wouldn't bother me a bit. Keep the trendy colors for the consumer products.I wonder if the iMac Pro branding is code for "silver and space gray only"?
You do realize that’s just shoddy rendered illustration art for the article photo, right? Of course Apple would make adjustments where necessary if the dimensions called for a larger iMac.There is no way a larger iMac could have that stand. It would tip over constantly. The 24" is unstable enough...
I’m definitely planning on getting the new AirPods Pro this year
Hopefully Apple does add lossless audio as some of the rumors suggest
Also hoping that Apple adds more health features to the 2nd gen AirPods Pro as well
24" has (2) TB3/USB4 ports with 2 addition UBC-C (10Gbps) ports, the 2021 MBP have (3) TB4/USB4 ports + the SD reader slot and HDMI 2.0 port. So wouldn't (3) TB4/USB4 ports be sufficient with say a couple of UBC-C (10Gbps) ports on the larger iMac?Just the front side we need to know the backside specifically the ports whether or not that TB4/USB-C 4 is shared amongst more than one port or EACH port gets the full band with which is critical!
Unless you have Next workstation blood in your system I doubt both would be very dark. This new iMac Pro will not come in silver as I always see in these renders. It’s meant to look different than the current 24” iMac and black bezels won’t be different enough. Most likely it comes in one or two shades of a very dark color instead.
That almost sounds like "Al Gore invented the Internet".Saw this in my feed reader and read “Gunman redesigned iMac Pro…” That would have been an interesting rumor.
You could grab a 2021 MBP and use a external display. Everything that is thought to be added to the 27" iMac stems from its specs.Poor timing. My 27” iiyama monitor blew up this morning. Do I hang out for a 27” iMac and bin my MBA or buy another monitor now? Grr. Will suffer either way.
Problem is the 27 display I have is a mid range 4k IPS one. I was hoping for a nice 5k iMac. If I buy an MBP I’m taking a step backwards again. It’s the screen I need not the horsepower. A 16gb / 512gb 27” is all I need. You could grab a 2021 MBP and use a external display. Everything that is thought to be added to the 27" iMac stems from its specs.
He’s still around. I think he realized that he was taking a lot of criticism for ‘overflowing predictions’ that were starting to kind of get borderline ludicrous, even though some of them actually had accuracy to it. Just not complete accuracies.I miss Jon Prosser...
I had a 2015 4Ghz i7 iMac die last April, hoping for a M1 27" iMac at the time. Went with the 24" a bit smaller in May but its quite tolerable. Now we are almost to Feb 2022 and its not until mid April that you would see the larger 27"+ iMac which will be more expensive. Yeah if its M1 Pro 16GB/512 GB we can all kind guess what it will cost. The 2020 intel 27" iMac is only for people that need it to be intel based it seems. Best of luck with your decision.Problem is the 27 display I have is a mid range 4k IPS one. Good advice
I did exactly that.

I don't see how the original quote "the dude is literally Nostradamus." is harsh, bitter derision, or irony. It's also not a taunt or a cutting remark. If anything, it was meant in a complimentary manner.
- harsh or bitter derision or irony.
- a sharply ironical taunt; sneering or cutting remark
The word "literally" is misused virtually everywhere these days... I'll leave it at that.
I really hope for this damn mac mini M1 max.
If not I'll have to sell my lungs for the imac pro.
