FYI, for the first week the app will cost $2.99, there will be one night where it goes free.

GV Mobile + will cost $2.99. After a week or so, I’ll have a window of time set with minimal notice for people to get the app at the cost of $0.

I think I'll just pay the $2.99 and get it over with

It has not been removed from the app store, and it has been approved and will appear shortly.

It takes awhile for it to show up on the US store since it was just approved. For some reason other stores get it available first sometimes.

Yeah I am really confused by this arrangement. It seems odd to tell people, "Hey buy this app! Oh yeah it will be free at some point next week for 24 hours."

Either make the app free for the first 24/48 hours it is on the App Store or at the very least don't tell people it is going to be free for a limited time at some point in the next week. By telling people this the app will just get less people buying it, which means it won't move up the rankings very much and the people who do buy it will feel stupid for buying it when they could have waited for it to be free.

I don't mind it when app developers put their product on sale or do a promo "free" period, but don't put it up the first week at full price, then do something the next week. It just seems really backwards.

He's doing it for the people that have purchased it before. Either on Cydia or on the App Store before it was pulled the first time. He doesn't want to lose all sales, so he's going to announce it on his twitter, put it free for one night, and then put it back.

The impatient people will purchase the app and the biggest buzz around it will occur during the first 48 hours. After that the commotion starts to wear off and he can start giving it briefly for free without losing a large amount of profits.

Damn man it's 2.99. If you wait and miss the window of opportunity, and the 2.99 is going to break your piggy bank, then you probably should not own an iPhone in the first place.

The buzz would be way greater if it was free though. Then the price goes up and people will keep buying it if the app is good enough and popular enough.

If it isn't then I guess making a few bucks off the "smaller" buzz it is going to get is good, but it's definitely feels sort of like a hit-and-run if that's the case. Good apps keep selling even after the initial buzz period, because they stay in the "top apps" list.
