oh, there not personal, thay are for the whole school, it gets shipped down to the IT people, and put back into circulation, in the classrooms or elsewhere.... they just give you the new one, so you can actually do sompthingThat really sucks mate, but why would they take it away and give you a new one...??

iPod touch Hacking a Wifi connection

Yea, I mean the schools, but don't they just repair it, cuze, if I used my schools laptops and it didn't work, then I would just head down to the Techs in school and just wait for them to fix the problem, but now we bring our own Mac's to school, I got my Mac for a good deal through school, I'm sure this will spread to other schools around the world, using Mac's to learn which is great fun, although you don't have to use a Mac for school.
Oh and btw, its really annoying sometimes when I open up my Mac at school, I like can't connect straight away, I have to open network prefs like 5 times, otherwise I would just restart.

No wifi
At my school we don't have wifi, but my friend plugged in one of those ultra small pre configured routers into an ethernet port hidden behind some old text books i use the wifi all the time now, i have a teacher that's super dumb with tech and we haven't been caught. So awesome!!!!!!!!!

No matter what hollywood movies show anything connected to a network can be found, its a matter on how you find it. (I do this for a living)
Any device that connects to your network can be found. Whats creepier (and hopefully this makes you NOT want to try it) is all they have to do is look at what access point the "mystery device" is connected to and they can pretty much pinpoint where you are.
If you google MAC address thatll give you an idea of how things are found on a network. Its not the only way but its the most common way of finding machines that aren't to be on the network.
Even on my cheap D-Link router at home, there's a way to limit users by MAC address. In fact, it's the only true "serial number" of the computer world. My wife's workplace assigns network connections to specific MAC addresses, specifically to keep unauthorized PCs and hubs/routers off the network. Yes, yes, I know there's a way to spoof a MAC address, but it won't help in hacking WiFi unless you know a MAC address that's in the DHCP server's allowed MAC list.

Well it isn't impossible to hack WEPs it's just you need a computer and use injection packets or If you have experience in hacking if you have a school website you can find the admin and use havji therefore getting the admins password having admin rights changing ****... Also to prevent being caught use VPN and if you do successfully hack use a VPN to gain access to those sites you would want to access as a VPN for those who don't know is a virtual private network and this provides you with a fake IP address that will track something in a different countryIts almost impossible to hack WEPs, I tried it for ages, impossible, and also, if you can't connect to your school network, that means its not wireless, its hooked up, so you'll have to pull out the plug and then use it, and anyways, you can't hook up your Ipod using the cable, so there is no point really. I remembered at the start of school after
last summer, we had this new system where we have to use macs for school, and to connect to the internet, you would have to get a form and fill it out and wait for a day, but since its been a while now, everyone figured out the password by going to join other network and then show password, anyways, but I'm sure if your school uses Windows or something, you could probably try to find the password, but as I said, if connection fails, that means no wireless. Although, if you had an Iphone, you could share Internet from Bluetooth from the computer and get internet I think. Good luck in hacking, make sure you don't get caught
And may I also add yes I am quite young as I'm 12 years old and I know this stuff and I have almost been expelled and been taken to the police so I don't advise people to do this but it can be done so like I said WEPs are very easy because there outdated but still used but WPA is harder and WPA2 is virtually impossible

In that case first things first you need to pick up an Alfa awus036h wifi card. It is only wireless G but don't be fooled. It's a powerful, necessary tool in your penetration testing tool box. Then check out Backtrack and read up every scrap of documentation on Aircrack you can find.
Before even thinking of backtrack I need either my laptop fixed or get a powerful one like mac or something but yeah I know a lot about backtrack and I know lots of stuff and I can learn more all I need to do is read more forums and go onto youtube and you should check out my youtube videos like the one I did about 2 Horus ago about putting apps in newsstand

I need my laptop I was doing a tut and deleted system 32 by accident and now I need a new hardrive getting a 1 terror bite external hardrive and a 500gb to to go into the laptop gonna take a while even thought i know how to put hardrive a in a computer and install software there are just one road block and that's my parents :/If I were a teacher, I would suspect any ipod touch user could simply and discreetly google answers on a test I gave them. So- if students need internet, there should be dedicated spots to hardline into. Sure, you could google with an iphone, but whatever.

Is there not a way to completely block all cellular signal transmitted, I think that should be somehow implemented into every classroom in the world, that way it is impossible for kids to use their phones etc. and they actually learn something

Just playing devil's advocate here, I don't think kids should look up the stuff online that they should learn, what if there is an emergency where someone needs to make a call. That being said, if you're talking about a school situation then the school will have phones anyway. Heck, I really don't have any problem with cell phones, more specifically smart phones, being banned in schools. People survived for many years without having a device that allow them to have constant contact with others on their person at all times. If parents are really concerned about their children having cell phones in order to keep in contact with them in case of an emergency and they can give them a dumb phone.
