Now mincemeat is something we put in Christmas cake or desserts (or puddings, as we call them :D ).

i actually meant to call them puddings, but lapsed into the aussie vernicular

What's with all the negativity about the Hampster Helper? That is the staple of the bachelors. It's quick, it's easy, it's slightly nutricious and it's damn tasty. It sure beats the hell out of Top Ramen but not quite as good as Mac & Cheese (God's perfect food).

Well, as mentioned, we did have Slow Cooker Helper tonight. Which is essentially Hamburger Helper for a Crock Pot. Except it was Beef Stroganoff with Pot Roast and not hamburger. So it was really Pot Roast Helper.

Anyway, it was very good. And it didn't have lumpy cheese sauce.

No, bachelors who aren't dating can afford things which aren't on sale.

Bachelors who are dating need to look like they can afford things which aren't on sale.

Men of all situations are lazy, though, so HH is a staple, not because it's cheap, but because it's easy and reasonably tasty.

;)

I told you, a little real sour cream doctors the beef stroganoff up niciely.

I lived on a sailboat for 11 years, so I am all-knowing when it comes to all-in-one skillet meals. ;)

take your own advise - beating the subject to death and bringing it back again and again is only going to make it worse....

O.T. I get a lot of great starter sauces at Trader Joes, one of my favorites and my kids as well is taking the Pesto Sauce, cubing up a bunch of tofu and putting it all into a food processor. I'll add a little olive oil and mix that up with some pasta - he loves the stuff. The tofu is great because it cuts the pesto a bit and makes it a creamy looking green sauce.

I always eat a little when I make it - yum.
