That's it! Faux AI is the most demeaning app I can conceive!

I can't believe Appoe did this. After seeing the demo I cancelled my order for the 4s.
Don't know if this post will post? Nothing seems to really work anyway.
And I am not a newbie to tech!!
just what I did not want...another button to push/touch to enter a command is all it is! Nothing really new....so there is an A5 processor. Big deal.
Still just a toy...lol.....disappointment ...disappointment...
Tomorrow I wipe this ipad2, give it away! ...sell all my Apple stock!
Bail on the Internet and wait for the real 21st century to begin....
Should be in about another 20 years...lol....

Can't believe Apple did this ...Siri is a joke..no worse, it is dismal!

I will not be back to this site again.....bye!

I know! Every time I see Siri, I'm like "Grrrr!" and stuff. Then I fart and sometimes poop myself a little, then I think about why I got mad and I cry. Siri is so STUPID! Why do I need something that does almost everything for me?! Grrrr!

Oops...

I think I sharted again.

Oh how I wish Majel Barrett Roddenberry was still around so they could use her voice.

I am sure theres more than enough tape of her voice sitting in some computer at the studio where they could use it if they wanted to?

My suggestion? Spend less time in the sun.

I think his mother dropped him on his head as a baby. I hope he stays cause he's friggin hilarious.

Agreed, the dialogue is excessive. Siri should just spit out the answer. However, I suspect the dialogue is included as Siri is fetching the answer so as to make the wait seem shorter.

I wonder how far the calculations can go...

For example, "What is the square root of 4, multiplied by 3?" or "How many quarters are in $20?"

Would have loved it for my math homework many years ago...

Siri doesn't actually read aloud the voices. She (it/he?) just says "This should help", or something like that, and then presents the Wolfram Alpha results.

It's weird how Apple sometimes just throws in helpful math applications like this... IE: Grapher in Mac OS X. What next, will the complete Wolfram Mathematica be coming in Lava Lion (the obvious codename for Mac OS X 10.8)?

Why he like robot speak ?

That's such a shame, he's making his review in plain, natural english and starts talking like a robot to Siri (which makes it kind of funny, 'cause now, she sounds even more natural than him :roll eyes:).

uf jeden fall, Danke fü's Video, ich cha kaum erwarte d's 4s bii ois zu ha und in min händ salber z'probiere. Nu no 16 Tage ! Yuhu !

Siri: "Nicht verstanden, Wiederholen bitte". :p :D ;)

Love :apple: Thank you Steve ! Be at piece.

I'll be talking to Siri so much when I get this phone.
I hope she doesn't get tired of me and tell me to leave her alone.

Hahaha!

They should put Steves voice for Siri, that would be awesome....forever immortal! RIP Steve!

When you say "this country" I assume that means you live in Canada, being that that's what you're talking about. That said, are you high? Canada is an officially bilingual country. Advertising Siri to Canadians would create the assumption that it is, in fact, compatible with both our native tongues (which is not the case). Were Apple to advertise Siri regardless of its incompatibility with the French language, it would probably lead to more hassle than they need/want. So, if it works for me on Friday, in English, I will be pleased - but I won't immediately claim ridiculous information (such as Francophones being a tiny tiny minority - 7 million may be minor against the other 23 million that make up Canada, but it certainly isn't "tiny") to be factual reasons as to why Siri should be marketed here.
Actually Siri is supposed to work with English, French and German (at launch). I think the only feature which is English-exclusive is Wolfram Alpha.

Not sure why Canada can't have it though.
Maybe it's a question of "French Canadian" vs. "French French".

Wonder why the didn't use Alex as a voice, after promoting it so much a few years ago. Plus it sounds more natural.

Probably so since they were also showing temperature in celsius. You guys can now, say, call my mum...
Thanks for the offer, but I'm not really into that demographic.

Punctuation, people. It matters.

Get some help pal. You need to get over yourself and your obsession. What part of "artificial" in artificial intelligence do you not understand? I cannot tell if you are drunk posting or some fandroid posting on here to stir up trouble.

Nobody really cares if you buy a single apple product.

It was actually Alice posting in a fit of jealously.

Well, that second video shows Siri being used in a noisy place and still working quite well --- despite that moron doing things that should have confused it such as tapping the mic *after* asking the question! (most computer functions would recognise that as a new and different request to the previous). I think I'll go to pre-order, to get it a few days after release... I hope :D

I want to see what Siri says if you ask it for the answer to life the universe and everything.

CBS had asked her about the meaning of life:

"Try and be nice to people. Avoid eating fat. Read a good book every now and then."

Another gimmick where the novelty wears off pretty fast. Guaranteed you won't be using it after a month. How often do you use faceTime? Exactly.
You're gonna use it when your hands are full? really? You still have to have a free hand to pull out the phone and activate Siri. Or scroll the screen when info comes up that requires scrolling. And seriously, how often are your hands that full. As I said, just another gimmick that won't be used after the novelty wears off. Amazing how easily some people are impressed. But hey, whatever makes you happy.

I drive a manual. I can see myself using a lot.

The first siri video is stolen. The thief (look at his video description) admits it's made by someone else but did not link to the original video.

The real video with voice is
