Is it just me or is the voice on these videos really piercing?
You conveniently forgot Mavericks.
I don't think you understood the point. Mavericks was a major revamp. So was Yosemite. Two in a row. El Capitan is a refinement, like Snow Leopard (to Leopard) and Mountain Lion (to Lion).

Yes, they did.

Catch up, like Apple owns 26% of the market, and Microsoft owns...... No, Apple is not playing catch up. Tablets have become a commodity. Apple are just implementing a technology that the market has asked for. All these things are essentially the same to the layman (read most people). When one car company started putting electric wipers on their cars, did the next one get criticized for playing "catch up" when they added wipers to their new models?

They also mentioned a feature called App Thinning, which allows iOS to download only the base app bundles from the App Store and load additional data on a per-device basis. Many apps, especially universal apps, bundle all the images and videos to cover all devices, wasting lots of space. I don't need iPhone 5 or iPad resolution images on my iPhone 6. This could have some tremendous impact on space usage if it works like I think it works.

Apple has always used separate IPS files for each model of phone. It would seem odd if they didn't take advantage of that fact and compile for the specific devices... I'm going to bet that they've always been doing that.

El Crap-o

First thing i thought of was El-caballo-blanco, when used to go.

*Wax on, Wax off* I could see myself on that all day.

The moving on a keyboard. Its a keyboard, not a trackpad... Use it as intended. You know my feelings about Apple "straying"

Such a bummer to not be able to split screen on my air 1....guess I need to start restocking my now Apple watch depleted tech fund for an iPad pro or whatever it will be called

Looks pretty good... and I have my hopes up now that maybe Apple will fix the almost joke that iOS 8 is and help get Yosemite past it's still nearly beta state.

I think you're being a bit harsh. Both Yosemite and iOS 8 (8.3) is working well for me overall.

So finally a new Snow Leopard then? :)

The performance boost for anything graphics related seems to be awesome.

WTF? I have a 128GB iPad Air and they are telling me it's going to get gimped under iOS9? Screw Apple. So tired of this stupid company and their crappy games! There's no good reason they should put out an update that won't work with 2-3 year old hardware other than the fact that they are trying to "force" people to upgrade because they are incapable of actually INNOVATING.

This makes no sense. Innovation, by definition, requires change. The more they innovate, the more likely it is that new software won't work with old hardware. You need to decide what you want: 100% backwards compatibility, or would you like some innovation too?

The air2 got that extra CPU-core and 2x ram..

So your statement is a bit like "this new mini van from brand x can take 8 people so there is no good reason why 8 people should not fit in my old car with 5 seats"..

Well, there kinda is..:)

The big new feature in 10.11 is going to be the OPM soundtrack.

Seriously, I can't believe no one brought this up when they were brainstorming the name.

It's probably because air 1 have only 1G of RAM. I also have air 1 and couple opened safari tabs are already giving him headache. Split view multitasking would probably break him apart :)
