I would not consider 2 years as “consistently” scoring higher. In 2017 and 2018 Apple iPhone had higher customer satisfaction than the Samsung Galaxy.

Yeah, they both score high. Now, remember that my post was in response to a laughable claim that "The quality and reliability of iPhone is just not even close on a galaxy. The galaxies are designed to break after 2 years." I just wanted to show that this claim was baseless.

Phones have gotten kind of boring especially at crazy stupid prices. My next purchase is a new Thinkpad laptop with Zen 3 mobile CPU and non-crappy webcam.
Talk about boring. Nothing is uglier and more boring than a Thinkpad. Not a single bit of innovation. Thick bezels and nothing special. It's an office computer and nothing more.

That notch is one of the top 3 reasons why I do not want to go back to iphones. Haha looks soho dated.
Thats the one thing I hate about my iPhone. I switched to samsung s20 fe for a month and had to get rid of it due to the infamous touchscreen issues. I also hated that android's have issues with apps making them upload pictures less quality. But I REALLY miss the S20's selfie and rear camera. Also miss the in screen finger print scanner (especially with masks now). Also miss the power share (I loved charging my AirPods case off of my phone when I forget to charge them when im at the gym).

But when Samsung 100% is compatible with apps like the iPhone and they fix their touch screen I might leave the iPhone again and go back to samsung. They are way ahead on features. Also android has a much more fluid multitasking function which iOS 14 kind of copied.

Hoping for a Surface Pro with AMD Zen 3 mobile but I'll settle for reliability of Thinkpad over a shiny overpriced POS with keyboard issues, defects with opening and closing lid, old 14nm+++++++ node, etc.

Nice, I'm excited for this phone, but I think I'm more excited for the rumored Ultra version. Probably run it along side my iPhone or I'm gonna get a OnePlus 9. Then trade those in for the Pixel 6 if it actually goes flagship this year.

Here's hoping Canada goes back to the Exynos version. All indications point to the Exynos, as the CPU to get. Regardless, Samsung have moved on to foldables being the flagship. There's a Fold 3 with my name on it.

And the notch looks like a big dead section of a screen.
At least it looks like it's meant to be there, right on the edge. What did Samsung gain by having by putting the mole a few pixel rows in from the edge? It looks more like a defect.

Have you seen a phone camera module? The lens sits on an actuator, which in turn sits on a board. You’re not going to get that on the edge of a bezel-less screen.

Fed up of hearing this TouchID is more important rubbish. I know it's an inconvenience during a pandemic but COVID/face masks aren't going to be a permanent thing going forward.

I have the iPhone 11 and would rather my finger scanner back. However, having a punch hole in my screen isn't exactly something I would want on my phone. So I'm watching something with a black hole on the screen. I can live with the notch. It's not something I would refuse not to buy a phone over another.

or, the Apple Watch and AirPods show their strengths during the pandemic. No need to take the phone out to pay in a store or to answer calls etc.
I don't know where when people are wearing a mask and need to use face ID on their phone. I mean if you are at work you are at work surely you aren't using your phone. in a shop? again if you are shopping why would you be holding your phone.

I know some want their shopping list but to me thats what the Apple Watch is for if you need a shopping list but maybe thats just me.

I work from home so a mask is never needed but I guess people who work in places where you need a mask can answer this better

I've owned an iPhone 3GS, 6 Plus, and XS Max. I've also owned a Galaxy S3, S4, S8, S9+, S10+, and I now own an iPhone 12 Pro Max.

ALL have been fantastic phones. One make IS NOT better than the other, they both have their strengths and weaknesses, but both brands are very impressive and cutting edge in their own ways.

I have found with both the hole-punch on the Samsungs and the notch on the iPhone that after a while your brain just edits it out and you totally forget it's there.

People need to get off their high-horses and stop being fanbois, trying to make themselves feel good about the choice they made by dumping on the competition.

Not everyone's brain "edits" it out. It still annoys me after a full year with my 11 Pro.

The other side of snarky fanboyism is the "everything's fine I can see no flaws" kind of stanning.

I like that Apple sticks to their design decisions and improves on them over years.

Can't fit FaceID sensors in anything like a punch-hole camera though. There's no way. Apple would have to ditch their TrueDepth camera.

I ignore the notch. It's grown on me and I never notice it during use. At least I don't have a random black hole in my screen though. God damn those punch-hole cameras are hideous.
Sorry, your argument just doesn't make sense. A small hole is annoying yet a big block of black strip that is 20 times larger than said hole is not? I guess size does matter to you.
