Almost everyone will be better off getting something like the Chase Sapphire Preferred. You get $500 cash back bonus on signup and spend.

An element that affects your score is the average age of accounts. Don't open a new card just for fun.

On the other hand, another element is % of available credit used so if opening a card increases your total available credit it could be beneficial.

credit Karma will spell out your individual situation.

I wouldn’t just use Credit Karma. I have Experian’s app too. Discover and AMEX provide free FICO scores as well.

The main reason I got the Apple Card, a more secure environment. From my limited testing, Apple Card will deliver.

The bonus of points and other incentives almost zero interest.

Will see if the security holds in the long run.

The Apple hype machine in full gear. This is just another credit card with mediocre rewards at best. I am only interested in this for the security aspect of not having a physical card number.
Then you have interest in the card. See how that works?

AGAIN, no credit card offers everything.

2% cash back at all the places ApplePay is offered IS a leading reward. Many cards offer 1%, 1.5% or even nothing. Cards like Citi double cash are worthless for travel because there is a 3% foreign transaction fee, something the Apple Card doesn’t have.

iCloud purchases were only part of it. I bought gas twice also using Apple Pay.
Still...if you spent $100 on gas, that would be $2.00. $50 on Apple, that would be $1.50. Do you have a small fleet of vehicles that you gas up, or, maybe you already had some Apple cash? It just doesn't add up.

Same. Did they say they didn’t have the AppleID that matched the one logged into iCloud? The email they sent me that is my AppleID, so something is wrong.

Strange his credit rating is so low with such a high income. He must have other stuff going on.

High income doesn't matter if debt to income ratio is high.

That's why I said he must have other stuff going on....like high debt or late payments.

Thanks for ignoring that part though.

You're not winning the lottery with any credit card rewards system. That's not the point.

2% IS an extremely solid reward at all ApplePay locations....along with its other features like security, no fees, instant rewards, reporting, etc.

AGAIN, no card has it all. You use different cards for different things to maximize, but you're not getting rich of it. It's just nice to get something for paying for crap you're already buying.

What you quoted was directed at one person. You took that one comment and turned it into something that it wasn't about at all. You can't just cherry pick. How about reading all of the other comments that go with that. I'm not at all talking about how good or bad the card's rewards are.

Yup, only a few bucks so far because I pointed my App Store and recurring iCloud purchases to the card, which nets 3%. I haven't made a ton of purchases yet, but yea after 24 hours it showed in my Daily Cash.

You're better off getting iTunes gift cards for 15% to 20% off (usually PayPal, eBay, Costco, and Best Buy have multiple sales a year) rather than using your credit card for 3% off.

I got the invite, but every time I click continue a message" Apple card services are not available", so whats the point !!!

I’m concerned with getting a credit card so close to the IPhone launch through IUP. Citizens One is very finicky about credit score so I may wait until after launch to get the Apple Card.

iUP uses Equifax and Apple Card uses Transunion.

Have you gotten and daily cash yet? I made a couple small purchases yesterday to test it out and haven’t gotten anything yet.

Takes about exactly 24 hours to receive it. In my experience at least. Unless the purchase was made Saturday night / Sunday.

It's a card for fans. Just accept it. It's mediocre, it's just another card with fancy packaging. If your a fan then get it, but your missing out on real cash rewards with other cards out there.
I think just about everyone here has a card with better rewards and knows what this card is and isn't. I don't think anyone here needs advise on credit, rewards cards or telling them this isn't the card for them or how many better cards there are.

This whole Apple Card thing has brought out all of the credit card gurus and brought them all to mac rumors.

The Apple card is competitive and/or leading in every important credit card metric.

Lmao thank you! I would say it’s brought out the *~strange~* in people. Like how many times can someone say that “there are better cards out there”? It doesn’t get old repeating the same thing over and over? Baffling.

Right!? I have better cards. I still got this card and it will have it's place. I'll use it where Apple Pay is accepted and through Apple when I make purchases. Otherwise I'll use one of my other cards that give me better rewards in other categories. What I refuse to do and did for years is pay a yearly fee for a credit card. That's not worth it to me. Maybe for some but not for me.

Still not at all what I was talking about. Not at all saying it is, or isn't competitive. All you have to do is read my comments. Only saying what one would have to spend to earn 3 dollars and change. It was strictly a discussion based on the math.

No, I filled up my car and my girlfriends car, iCloud purchases, my Apple Music payment, and my Plex Pass. It all runs through my iTunes purchases. Maybe I had some Apple Cash prior, but I never used it. Anyway, I like the card so far.

Everything tied to my iTunes runs through my credit card either way, switched for the 3% I wasn’t getting before. I’m not sure if recurring charges are possible on gift cards, but seems like consistent work that I’m not gonna do.

One thing I wonder about with the Apple Card is the magnetic stripe.

If it's a "dumb" stripe, then that means that the number on it isn't likely tied to the "CNP" number that you can look up in the wallet app.

That means that you can't use the Apple Card to reserve movies on RedBox, because you won't have a physical mag-stripe with the same number.

Right?

This also means that whatever number is on the stripe can only be changed by replacing the card, so just getting a new number in the Wallet app won't help.
