I keep a spare bank card in my glovebox for emergencies which I used once at a hotel.
Dunno about the aussie rules, but out here in Belgium: if you leave a card in your car, the protections the bank offers are gone: you're responsible for any abuse yourself should it get stolen or so.

Someone else mentioned another brand, but I’ve been using a stick-on leather wallet from Distilunion with a Tech21 case on a 7. They make one integrated to a case as well. The ‘ejector’ fabric strip is a great feature.

I probably won’t be doing much wireless charging on my 12 but I’d rather pull out my cards temporarily than have any concerns about my wallet separating from my phone or my cards getting wiped.

Had one on order as the concept looked good, but long since cancelled and just gone for a case with card storage built into the back as the MagSafe execution looks so poor.

Seems like a solution looking for a problem. You pull the cards into Apple Wallet then shove them in a drawer. No need for a wallet of any kind now.
Apart from in places when you can't use Apple Pay!

Paying with Apple Pay: Out here virtually all merchants impose a 50 EUR max limit on such payments (they see them as NFC).

Making contactless payment in these virus times pretty useless (they raised the limit from 25 to 50 EUR during the first lockdown, still it's by far not enough - esp. not for Apple pay where there is strong authentication on your own device).

Sadly the banks are making us insert a card into a slot that and type a PIN code on a keyboard that have been used by every other customer before us (and after us as well).

Having played with the iPhone 12 Pro's magnets a bit, my strong strong sense is that MagSafe got way too much early praise. The magnet strength is too weak to be of much use.

Magnets are generally good at keeping something from moving perpendicular away from the surface of the magnet, but they are generally bad at keeping something from moving laterally across them. That's why this wallet falls off the way it does, and it's why MagSafe is no good for iPhone mounts for cars. It's probably enough for selfie-sticks and gimbals, but there's little reason in those environments to rely on something that doesn't have a super firm grip.

In a sense, the iPhone implementation is the OPPOSITE of MagSafe on the Mac, where magnets were used because their strength could be overcome by a little force. All of the iPhone implementations except for that ridiculous puck charger are for things that you want to stick and stay put reliably.

Super disappointing.
A good review. Apple brings MagSafe back for the iPhone/Wallet, but not for the MBP.

This is probably one of the worst products Apple has released in my opinion. Asking to be lost. Even if it were perfect I would not want to keep all my eggs in 1 basket.

In Australia Apple Pay is accepted everywhere. Additional to this I can do careless cash from an atm using my banks app on my phone, lastly my drivers licence is now on my phone so the only thing I really need to carry now is my Medicare card and my opal card (for public transport). It does worry me with how easy it comes off as I probably move my phone in and out of my wallet 3000 times a day lol

Good idea but with a few flaws, I won't be getting one for a number of reasons. First I don't have an iPhone12 and not planning on getting one as I have an 11, so maybe 13 but more likely 14 before I have to worry about it. Also my credit card is on my phone, i don't need to carry around a card if I don't want too.

The card wallet is an idea without a really need as we move to having our cards digitally on our smartphones, this also includes IDs and License.

I can only dream of a future where all businesses support Apple Pay and where you can have an ID on your phone and avoid carrying any wallets all together. Maybe someday.

... and then your iPhone breaks, or just the battery dies and suddenly you're stranded with no access to your funds. We can all dream of such a wonderful future.

I hope they integrate your car keys too. Then you can be stranded with no money and no access to your car. Maybe someday.

Why wouldn't you turn your iPhone around the other way? With the wallet toward your body? I still won't be getting this but just wondering.
Not that I’m buying this, but I always orient my phone in my pocket with the screen facing my leg. Figure it gives the screen more protection.

Seems strange that Apple would be promoting this kind of archaic technology, its like removing the 3.5mm jack and then designing a headphone cable tidy. I'm just waiting for a digitised driving license so I can chuck my wallet out.

Issue only applies to people wearing tight pants.
#bringbackloosepants

The wallet isn't for everyone...there someone said it.
