I am sorry, but I can't understand why anyone would trust this crap. Yeah, I am going to trust that my cards aren't going to fall off, because....magnets. I mean Apple (who does make a lot of great stuff) is so much smarter than anyone. I mean come on, the iPhone 12 is basically the same phone with a damned magnet and flat edges. Who cares? If you do care, that is fine, but why? Hype, hype, hype (for no reason other than 5G -- which barely exists and is currently slower than 4G LTE).

Why would anyone need a wallet for 3 cards in the first place? Just stick them in your front pocket and you’re good to go. That’s what I do. Heck, sometimes I’ll even carry 4 credit cards that way. So much less bulk.

I cannot get over the whole live in a city where Apple Pay is widely available. It is everywhere in Australia. Tap and go has been here for years and years. I don’t even need to insert my card at the ATM either as it has tap function. Only ever use my physical card at a drive thru so it pretty much stays in the car.

Clearly, Apple has not done enough real world testing on some of their products!
Waiting for iPhone 13, with improved magnets (warning - might wipe your cards!)

In Sydney, you can even Tap top Pay for public transport (bus, ferry, train, lightrail). It's pretty neat.

Looks dreadful. And in today’s world, everything should be digitised and on the phone, not stuck to the outside on bits of plastic.

I just had an orgasm from this thought.
Happens in New South Wales Australia. Tap and pay everywhere, drivers licence on the iPhone and if i need cash i can tap and pay on the debit card. FWIW since March probably only spend $150 a month in cash - all the rest is credit.

The whole iphone release this year is a fail imo

o the sizes are stupid (i didnt want to go smaller and I didnt want to go bigger).
o the camera in low light still sucks (it really does)
o the video camera stutters because that night mode garbage is on by default
what is this rubbish rant?
The camera in low light is deadset amazing. Like literally one of the best I have ever seen in a phone. I am taking pictures I never thought would be possible with a smart phone.
Sizes? The choices of size are an issue for you? The best phone in the world right now - using the best OS ever.

it's better to have an accessory than to not have anything. You are not forced to buy this accessory and I just see people whining for the sake of whining.
It is actually better to not have a failed accessory, than to have one. Apples philosophy is not to try to do everything, but whatever they do, they focus on perfecting.
funny - you sound like the person whining for the sake of whining here.

Maybe Apple was solving for not being able to find enough random wallets in real life like in video games. Kinda like how they're pushing AR because Pokemon Go was once a thing and Tim loved it.

Kidding aside, it's a total gimmick and a design failure. It's like product decisions are made by marketing and not actual R&D.

This lateral-force-weakness problem could be lessened by having a case with a lip surrounding the area where the wallet attaches. Maybe leave the top part open so the wallet could be removed more easily. Dan would be less likely to rip the wallet off when shoving the phone into his skinny jeans.

This is exactly what I thought would happen when they showed it off at Apple.

It would probably work better. But you shouldn't have to worry about how you put your phone in your pocket.

"You're putting your phone in your pocket wrong"
You don'talready put your phone in your pocket in a specific direction?

o no leather case on release day (i mean REALLY??)
(...)
Too bad all the reviewers only want to kiss Apples butt and not do honest reviews.
Probably no leather case because the MagSafe puck actually damages the leather. Brilliant.

As for the reviewers.. I don't think we'll ever be seeing any objective iPhone reviews again, especially from American youtubers/bloggers/journalists.

Not sure whether this was addressed anywhere, but how is NFC or Apple Pay supposed to work, if every card in the wallet will connect?
