My biggest gripe with iPhone X was unlock reliability and how slow it was. I'm glad the latter had been solved.

Any news on Carplay and google maps? does the beta support google map yet?

Is it worth calling this iOS12? Looks more like a point something update than a fully new version. I wonder for how long Apple can/will keep up the yearly renewal cycle. Than again, its certainly difficult to sell under the hood improvements as something excitingly new.

LOL at all the Ring notifications on the iPhone in the video. This is like 90% of the reason I wanted grouped notifications. That app really needs better snoozing ability. No idea why it doesn’t snooze all devices and keeps logging motion during motion snooze as well as during scheduling while filling the list with motion all day from kids playing in our daycare while using up our bandwidth and Ring’s storage space. Guess now that Amazon owns them they don’t care about that with unlimited AWS!

iOS 12 already? Can they fix all the issues of 11 first! What a mess.
They did! They just called it iOS 12...

In all honesty I think Apple recognized that iOS 11 had its fair share of issues and that’s why they decided to defer a lot of the new features they were planning until iOS 13 and really focus on performance and stability. From what I’m hearing it has paid off with even the first beta having great performance.

Apple please stop wasting so much time on all that emoji nonsense.
god, why people generalize everything... you know, there are different team or apple employees who's in-charge with every iOS features... it's not like the whole iOS team especially those engineers who are doing core-level tweaks are in-charge with that memojis *facepalm*

Is it possible to link "Do not disturb" to events in the calendar? I have reoccurring meetings, and it would be nice to click once in the calendar to always turn the phone off.

I also like to see support for multiple users, especially a guest login. If somebody wants to borrow my phone, I could just tell them my guest PIN and they could use it without having access to my e-mail, FB account, SMS, pictures etc.

The guest user should be able to at least make phone calls (possibly using their own SIM card) and access Maps, Safari, and the camera. They should NOT be able to connect hardware to the phone or install software from the AppStore.

So we better keep our mouthes shut regarding this issue even if there's a really simple solution to it? The ignorance of your kind is not what made Apple Apple. Switch to Android.
You can't call it an issue when extremely few people find it annoying. It's not really a big deal, goodness. That's actually Apple's volume indicator for maybe a decade or two? you know, wayback from Mac. Anyway, if you can't stand it, you're the one who needs to switch to Android.

If you want innovation you get android. If you want breathtaking Animoji, you go with Apple. And since most ppl have iPhones...
you mean, mostly half-baked-features just-for-the-sake-of-being-first "innovation" right?

Its weird that Craig spoke so much about the speed improvements of iOS 12 but all the pointless animations still holding iOS back and one of the biggest speed improvements (atleast in terms of feel) would be to be able to disable all the sluggish animations all-together, and no, i do not mean "reduce motion" (or what the setting is called in the english version of iOS), i mean just like the Assistive Touch bug did, that bug was insane, everything felt instant, you could jump around in the phone and get **** done without anything holding you back, using "reduce motion" still has almost the same wait time as with the full animation iOS.

Even my sluggish old iPhone 6 with the bug activated feels alot faster than my iPhone X, even with a phone as fast as the X, there is still so much annoying wait time until you can click on the next thing you want to click on.

Why not make a certified Apple setting version of that bug, imagine the PR Apple would receive for free, all news outlets, blogs, vlogs, tech YouTubers etc etc that would rave about the fastest mobile OS ever created. I really miss that bug :(

I’m happy to see performance increase. Can’t wait for “everything Applepro” to revisit speed tests again to see if this is true.

I was soooooo hoping Dark Mode would have been introduced......guess that’s for iOS13 and hopefully not one OS later. I think dark mode is aesthetically nicer, that’s easier on the eyes and battery life.

For those of you that made the jump - this update looks much more stable than previous v1 betas. How has it been for you? Lots of crashes and bugs or fairly usable for a main phone?
I was shocked at how stable it is for a first seed. We'll see if that changes over the next two weeks.

Side note, I've only had one app fail to launch. All others work flawlessly. Not too many major API changes?
