Other than the pictures and what comes in the box ... wee another unboxing ... this video seemed to be worthless; seems.

Glasses use was nice to see.

Nothing about quality, no testing for comfort, no out of ear full-volume comparison vs AirPods using the same song played over Bluetooth from the same source with noting the track quality (Khz, 256/320MB, stereo, etc).

I have large ears and workout/run all the time with Airpods, lengthy trail runs even. The only time they fall out is when I forget about them and wipe sweat from my head. I just don't see the hype in paying more money for a larger wireless headphone set, better be some mind-bending sound quality.

You might not have noticed this article is a "Hands On" (see the title) and first impressions. And not a comprehensive review. Also, the video indicated an iPods comparison is upcoming.

I was waiting for this review. Glad it covered shaking his head and demonstrating the fit with glasses.

Thumbs up

stop it. I don't need any peer pressure in changing my mind. LOL
I was actually going to hold out for the other colors but may go for the black.
Airpods are falling out my head too frequently
Clean your airpods. Dirty wax filled airpods tend to slip.

I bought a pair of these last week for $17 on Amazon:

For the price of these I can't justify $250 for the Beats. I love my Beats Studio but these are just too expensive for workout buds.
does this even have aac audio support?

Every review I’ve seen so far seems shocked the charging case is much larger than the AirPods. Did they not realize the actual ear phones are much larger? Did they not know they had a wrap around ear piece?

Please note, I’m not talking about them comparing the size or noting the size difference. That’s obviously relevant. It just seems like they’re shocked or unpleasantly surprised of the size comparison.

That’s nice but not everyone has ears like yours. If mine stayed while running, I wouldn’t be interested in these Powerbeats Pro. Unfortunately AirPods work well only when I’m stationary so they’re a no go for the gym, or while out running for me. They do stay in though when I put in these silicone tips but it’s annoying having to take them off and on constantly or carry them with me at all times since they don’t work with the charging case.

Why is Apple creating brand new products still using the lightning connector instead of USB-C?

The convenience of truly wireless earphones is great, but the fact that they will only last for 18-24 months (depending on use) is enough for me to never shell out another $160+ for another pair. I bought my AirPods in June of 2017, which I have used for hours every single days, and they are just now starting to have battery and connection issues. I knew this day would come, but it would be nice if they could somehow figure out how to replace the batteries more easily and cheaply... These and the AirPods are Apple's LEAST eco-friendly devices... impossible to recycle or dispose of properly. If I do get another set of wireless headphones, it will likely be over the ear with replaceable batteries.

Need a real review on how these sound - they are earphones after all. And how do they compare to the best sound true wireless earphones - Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless, Master & Dynamic MW07, and even the lowly Jabra 65t. At this price point, having a better battery life isn't enough, it's all about the sound. I'm buying a pair of earphones this week - it looks like the MTW, but I'd prefer these if they are good.

So I had the Powerbeats 3, wired, and somebody stole them. I tried the Airpods, loved them, except they just don't work in my ears. They last ten minutes, maximum, and the left one falls out.

So now, these look like the perfect thing. And they're sweat-resistant. Have to save my money.

Why don’t any of these reviews include anything about the sound quality?
Why don’t some of our readers read the articles? If you asked, why not a more in-depth audio review, perhaps. But “don’t . . . Include anything about sound”

the Powerbeats Pro sound impressive. Everything is full, crisp, and clear, and parts of songs remain distinguishable. Bass sounds great and is not muddy, which can be an issue with other wire-free headphones

Agreed. This needs to have a serviceable battery.

To be fair to the poster, it was added *after* his post. Also, 4 adjectives isn't an audio review.

So what is the call quality like?

$250 dollars worth, be good to know how well that works....

Apple's pricing team can't have got Tim's memo about always thinking of the consumer. They are still laser focussed on people's wallets.

Why is Apple creating brand new products still using the lightning connector instead of USB-C?

I believe it is because we won’t see USB-C on iPhones this year, and it is beneficial to have one connector, so you’d be able to use the same cable on both devices. Though personally I would have liked to see USB-C as my primary device these days is my iPad Pro followed up by my MacBook Pro which both uses USB-C.

And why don’t we see wireless charging? That I don’t get.

Except iPads are shipping with USB-C so I already have two different cables from Apple. I’d like to standardize on one and lightning clearly isn’t the future (though we may get one more iPhone with lightning if the rumors are true).

No mention of the speech-detecting accelerometer functionality? Was a huge selling point for me personally.

That tells you nothing. Go check out a headphone review at say Innerfidelity or headfonics if you want to see what headphone buyers expect in a review. At the very least you need to discuss how it sounds against other popular sets in the same price point, and you need to describe how it sounds across the frequency range. 2 sentences discussing sound quality doesn't cut it - that is their primary function after all, and unlike over ears you can't try before you buy.

These look fine, but they do have a wire connecting the 2 earbuds. There are thousands of these types of earbuds available that are cheap. If you don't mind the cable then you're spoilt for choice. If you don't want the cable, then there's only 2-3 other types available and they're pretty poor.

I have Anker SoundSpiritX things that are similar. They're fine. I'd prefer them without the cable.
