If you like this watch design, you like big bezels and you cannot lie.

Good god the one on the far left literally looks like a joke.

The Pixel Watch looks beautiful to be honest. But never buy the first generation. Going to wait on the next version.

But here comes Google's self fulfulling prophecy. Sales of the first version don't meet expectations because nobody believes Google will remember it exists a year from now. Lackluster sales lead Google to forget about it and maybe try again in five years, and thus the cycle continues.

Round electronic watches look good, but are terrible in practice. The problem is they don't take advantage of the round design. Text and notifications are still displayed as a linear line meaning at any given time, you actually only truly see it at it’s widest point before the round edge cuts it off. This is why the Apple Watch works, though more “geeky” in it’s shape. Google should implement a more ingenious way of displaying common text, but i can’t see how. And those bezels… yikes.

Huh? The pixel 7 series price is very good for the features you’re getting. It’s cameras will no doubt set the standard
Yeah, Google’s image processing has been better than the rest for years now. The cameras are amazing. I think Apple has closed the gap significantly beginning with the 11 Pros.

How on earth can you speak for a few billion people? Are you that arrogant to assume you know their motivations behind the personal purchases of a few billion people?

Don't have better features? That's absurd. Everyone has their own reasons for using whatever they use; seldom is it price.

You have zero knowledge of anyone's purchasing motivations.

Honestly, this forum attracts the worst of the Apple bunch.
It does. I've been coming to MacRumors near daily since I was 14 (32 now). I think I remember logical discussion in the past. Now it's fanboys slurping each other. Really, really annoying and every time I venture into the forums I remember why I stopped making a habit of that a long time ago.

It feels like I'm reading children validate their purchases in the most reductive way possible.

I straight up would not have been able to do this on an iPhone: (from last weekend)

I have my SIM (well, eSIM) in my iPhone. But I carry a Pixel every time I'm intending to shoot photos at night. Now I have a cool acrylic print Milky Way shot that I took, courtesy of an Android phone, hanging in my room. That print wouldn't exist if I only had an iPhone.

Who cares, Google has only 2% market share in the US, forget world wide.
Their competitor in the US is Samsung, and they are probably laughing at the Pixel.

Besides it's an Android phone who really wants one them, even Samsung tried to dump Android but Google put paid to that by saying that they would not get access to Google search etc.

Google needs breaking up.

Yeah, like many I was super disappointed Apple didn't have a dedicated astrophotography mode like Google after all the pre-keynote hype for the 14 with stars etc.

This is a night photo from the 7pro - looks amazing for a smartphone camera.

Apparently you’ve not seen shots taken with the 14 Pro. I’m glad the Pixel has a phenomenal camera. It pushes the competition forward.

To me the best features of Google products are just to keep Apple honest and innovating.

Apple, get those periscope cameras so you can eliminate the bump! But the iPhone is already far ahead of the Pixel.
Android is like the laboratory, the canary in the coal mine, if you will. They're so obsessed with trying to keep up with Apple's market, that they're willing to try things that they know aren't ready just to keep their brand afloat. Apple watches, waits, and when they see something worth investing in, they take that thing, perfect it, then bring it to market. In some ways, I guess you could say Android is un-paid R&D.

I’m a big fan of round watches, which was in part why I ditched my Apple Watch for a Garmin Epix 2, but dang, this new Google watch looks bad. I shouldn’t say that, as what I really mean is it looks effeminate, so not something I would consider. Not discounting female buyers who may love the look and would HATE the Rambo-like style of the Epix 2. Part of it is the curved lens, which I dislike on all watches, as I prefer the clean look of a flat sapphire lens.

And why such big bezels? If I were designing this watch and had to live with some physical or technical limitation with the bezel, then I’d add some type of trim ring to cover up the bezel. It’s what Garmin does with their Epix and Fenix models and it has a purposeful appearance.

I would say the Epix 2 is the best on the market, I have a Fenix 7 which is similar but doesn't compare in the display. I also have a AW Ultra. Congratulations, stunning watch/system.
