Anyone able to get it in the apple watch? I have an ultra 3 and it is still showing the old siri. All of my other devices are working and everything device is on the new beta.

Experimenting. I asked it to search emails for attendance of a meeting today and prepare them in a notes doc and it did a perfect job, saving me a few minutes of admin and letting me do a simple but fiddly job on my phone that I’d normally wait to do on my laptop.

It almost sounds like you're describing a developer beta... oh wait. 🤔
No, it sounds like they are describing a proof of concept demonstration to get internal funding, before real development even starts. People are delusional to think there will be a difference like night and day between a beta 1 and GA release only three months later.

For non English speakers, and those not in few supported language this is useless. Yes, we can talk to it in English but we would look like idiots in public. And typing is just the same as any other chat bot.

I was planning to get iPhone 18 PM, but with the news that they won't be shipping with tons of features (because they are not ready and don't have the infra), I think I might go back to a good 'ol android. Not because of stupid AI, but because of being 2nd class citizens which is in 90% cases Apple's fault. I should pay for a device and software much higher than US customers and get less. Yeah, time to review that.

One Sunday evening, the wife was watching TV while the husband was looking at his phone.

Then the husband stood up and went to have a shower.

The wife picked up his phone and asked Siri:

Hey Siri, show me the ring I last bought for my wife.

Siri showed her the ring but she hadn't seen that ring before.

Then the wife asked:

Hey Siri, which hotel I last went to with my wife?

Siri told her the hotel but she hadn't been to the hotel before.

The she asked:

Hey Siri, show me photos of my last business trip.

Siri showed her the photos and she saw a woman wearing the ring Siri showed the wife in a group photo.

She put down the phone and the husband came back from the shower.

She continued to watch TV.
So bascally the same story as if she looked for that info herself since she has access to her husband’s phone

If new siri delivers, I guess this has the potential to actually turn spoken natural language into the main input method. Which in turn would mean a small form factor iphone surely has a place in the lineup. So when will iphone mini come back?

Wondering whether there's some sort of discrimination going on with who gets access. That is, not all people with developer accounts are getting access.
For that matter, I'm also unclear why there's a waitlist in the first place.

Siri could’ve been an industry leader if Tim Cook hadn’t foolishly fired Scott Forstall just one year after it was released. Siri, while problematic upon initial release, was ahead of its time. Forstall is a visionary and a perfectionist on a Steve Jobs-like level, and Cook was too clueless and mediocre to recognize that. Forstall’s perfectionism would’ve likely ironed out the kinks in Siri over a decade ago, and thus set the stage for it being an industry leader today, instead of lagging behind.
Wasn't Scott Forstall fired because he screwed up Apple Maps in an absolutely epic way?

Isn't this the same trick Apple always pulls? Make something "rare" or "hard to get" so that the ones who DO get it feel the need to talk about it?

a) It's day 2 of the beta bub, maybe chillax a bit and don't be a potato.
b) it's never ever been advertised as a replacement for Claud or Gemini or ChatGPT.
c) Hope that helps!
I get what the poster was saying. It’s a trust issue nowadays. They’ve had plenty of time to get Siri right and each time they haven’t and it’s been a let down. So I totally get why there’s all the negativity. If the betas are that bad, I’m more inclined to believe it’ll be that crap again.

I got the new Siri last night also. I can't change it from American and the 2 sliders appear to be greyed out and non functional. IS it like that for you guys?

Loving all these people saying “I’m out”, and “it doesn’t do this” on beta software that is not launching for months and has been available for testing for literally a few hours. 🙄

…of a feature they announced two years ago. That still apparently doesn’t have the functionality they just announced…again.

The bad autocorrect is the worst report I’ve seen. That is such a solved problem, if they can’t get that right then I don’t know what they’re doing.

I wonder if it will now understand my Scottish accent. It’s not even broad as I’m from the highlands. I have to put on English or American accent most of the time for it to work. Does anyone on here have a Scottish accent and tried it?

I have an "upstairs thermostat" and a "downstairs thermostat" new Siri can still not reliably change a single thermostat. I asked it to tell me the names of my thermostats and it didn't even understand the request.

Siri still sucks.

Wow first Beta is out and already making calls like this. Have you used it? And sure go for a Pixel. All that money for device and you are still the product.
I don't need to use it, the lackluster features speak for themselves. iOS 27 better be much improved or many people will be ready to jump off Apple island.

Google is 3 laps ahead of Apple in the AI race.
