Just get over it, Jobs is and will be dead forever. Apple has actually in some ways got better since Tim Cook took over.

Please tell us those ways. There has yet to be one innovative product released under Cook. Apple doesn't need Jobs back, but they do need something better than a middle manager in charge of the company.

Guys how much space does iOS 9.3 takes of the iPhone storage?

I've been doing some maths in the itunes store and it seems I will use less than 5GB between APPs, Games and Music. I'm thinking about save 100$ and get a 16GB version. What do you think?

Anyone else sick of having the useless iPad shoved down our throat? Where are the new laptops? People are on 2 or 3 year old ones now.
I liked how they groaned about people still using 5 year old PC's as an incentive to buy a new pro iPad yet their own line of desktop and laptop computers are well out of date and they still have those up for sale. At least if I want to buy a PC right now I can get it with current hardware....

I think Apple missed an opportunity to have a silent update here. They wasted a special event on ordinary updates.

People may think otherwise but I don't think so. Of everything they presented today, Tim's opening statement on the ongoing battle with the FBI was the best. If nothing else good came from today's event...that was great.

...you can't guarantee that.

I have to admit, a 10" iPad Pro has me really, really tempted. I've got an SP4, and I like it, but I'm coming to realize that I don't use it as often as I would if I didn't have my desktop PC around, and I do kinda miss the smaller pure tablet experience the iPad gave me.

Considering this is EVERYTHING I wanted from an iPad, I am greatly considering selling the Surface off to get this. Don't know for a fact if I'll do it, but the temptation is weighing on me.

I heard Sprint went back to offering contracts just two months after they got rid of them. I'm sure there are other carriers who will still offer them if you want.

But here's the deal... it's only "free" at the time of purchase... meaning you don't have to pay anything up-front.

However... YOU will definitely be paying the $399 over the next 24 months. It isn't a gift from the carriers.

Subsidized contracts are just another type of payment plan. Instead of paying for the phone in full... you pay little or no money down... and the rest is built into your monthly bill.

No "free" phone is ever really "free"

Exactly, after about 10 months the phone is paid for that part of your payment is pure profit for the carrier from then on out. The longer you keep the phone the more they make with a contract.

Here's some perspective to get a better idea of the size difference.

I'll wait to hear what the battery life is like on the SE. A 64GB SE could well be my next phone. I bought an iPhone 6 on release, but I'm not keen on the (in my opinion) big screen size. If the battery is better than the iPhone 6 I'll upgrade.

The 5SE design looks incredibly old in my eyes. Just not a sexy piece of technology. The same goes for the stale iPad design with this monster bezels.

Yes, it is old design. People are used to with this design and look. Its been out for 3-4 years now. But Apple's new design standard is crap. bumpy iphone battery case, macbook with one port, magic mouse 2, bumpy ipad pro smart case, yuck iphone 5c cases, ugly rounded edges on iphone 6x series and so on....So looking on those factors, going back to proven design will help Apple to gain some trust back from disappointed customers. So their Old is really gold!

Exactly. They should've held on to that remark until the day they released new MacBooks that offered the same current hardware that PC makers have been offering the past few weeks/months (maybe with a touchscreen). I understand that they were offering the iPad Pro as an upgrade alternative, but let's be honest, the iPad Pro still falls a little short for a lot of people.

Yeah okay. looks like people will mistakenly purchase 5s making them look like it was the new thing.

Anyone find it stupid how Apple makes a great looking SE device w/ no protruding camera, yet the 6S/6S Plus have a protruding camera?
Yeah, it is kind of funny. i've been waiting for this iPhone, since my 5c is on it's last legs, and while the design isn't excitingly new, the lack of a camera bump totally makes up for it. I'm always keen for devices to be as tiny as possible (I use an 11 inch MBA, and will get the new MB once the processor gets a bit of a bump). But if you make a phone thinner, but have to have the camera poking out, I don't think you're really arrived at a resolved design. i'm very pleased with the iPhone 5SE. I had two worries about it in the lead up. The more minor one was that it might be called "SE", which I don't think is a great name, but my greater worry was that it would be thinner, but marred with a camera bump. So I'm sold.

I wonder if the iPhone SE 2 will use the same design as next year's iPhone? It would make sense for Apple to offer a 4", 4.7-5" and a 5.5-5.8" new design next year to mark the tenth anniversary of the iPhone, all released on the same day, maybe in June 2017.

No "free" phone is ever really "free"

No, that's not definitely true. It very much depends on one's grandfathered account. That is why ATT is ending subsidies even for grandfathered accounts.

Take me as an example. I have a grandfathered ATT 350 phone/rollover/free night & weekend + unlimited data account. With taxes it runs me $85 per month. Cost of subsidized phone was $399 or about $16/mo over 2 years. Total out of pocket is $101. But, of course, I sell the phone at the end of the contract and recoup about half of that so end cost is more like $93/month.

If I decide to stay w/ ATT I can keep my plan but will have to pay full price for my phone like everyone else. So effectively that is a $35/mo price hike, or no difference than what non-subsidy customer are paying.

The same plan for a no subsidy customer is $60 for the unlimited plan + $40 access charge + $849 ($35/mo) for the phone. Total pre-tax out of pocket is $135/mo. Even if you can get $400 for the phone after two years it's still significantly more than under the old subsidized plan.

Yup. It's like the way people think 'unlimited' minutes are free minutes...

I don't think of unlimited minutes as free. I think of it as a way to prevent sticker shock at the end of the month. When I get my monthly bill and it says Total Due $85 I don't think, hey look it's free this month.

I just don't understand why make a 9.7 "PRO" iPad...

The old lineup made sense and people knew what it meant...

Mini = Small
Air = Light
Pro = Big

Now they have a Mini, Air, Pro and Pro!

It's no different than the 13" and 15" MacBook Pros or the 11" and 13" MacBook Airs or the 21" and 30" iMacs. Models can come in different sizes. Pro never signified big even though the first iPad Pro was a large screen version. The moniker means has features that might interest a pro.

I wasn't aware that Apple had a limited number of special events in their arsenal.
They don't but if you look at most past events they usually bring in a very new product or substantial updates. Honestly, a smaller ipad pro, watch bands and an upgrade iPhone 5S is not enough reason IMHO to warrant a special event and the hype around.
