Honestly, this was a real show-stopper for me (the inability to use family sharing at that price tag). Come on, Nintendo, Mario was, is and always will be a "family" game, which parents love to play with their kids. Excluding it from Family Sharing creates lots of aggravation amongst users with more than 1-person households.

I applied for a refund (and got one) when I found this out.
I agree with your sentiments - imo Nintendo's narrative is family fun, so beggars belief why they would do this, however there is a well known workaround to make one purchase and freely share with other devices easily.

There is no need to set up and link Nintendo ID or delete game etc. The IAP is handled on Apple's side.

All you need to do is buy the game using your primary iTunes account on device A. When you've made the IAP.

:IMPORTANT: Log into device B appstore with device A apple ID

Download SMR, go through the tutorial again, remember you don't need to create a Nintendo ID at this point, but you will be asked to set a username (which can be changed at a later time).

When you finish the level 1 game tutorial, just click on purchase tab.

You will told that the game has already been purchased or linked to another account, do you want to buy again- confirm yes ( you may get the error code 40? or something and asked to confirm Apple ID password again but this all fine.

You may also have to close the app and reopen for the synch to complete.

Once that happens, all the levels are loaded!

Lastly, remember to sign out device A primary Apple ID account from device B and voila!

Well, in a way Nintendo has been successful, then. Mobile is basically them marketing their properties so you'll be interesting in picking up their proper products. [See: Pokemon sales exploding after Pokemon Go's success.]

Don't worry, I was sold on a Switch the second I saw the trailer. I played it on loop for a good couple of hours!

But I agree with you totally, that's the reason I understand this is more simplified product at a more reasonable price, it'll guide you back to Nintendo come March 2017.

If you haven't owned a system in the 3DS family, definitely look into one because there's a bunch of great games on that platform, including New Super Mario Bros. 2.

Mario on mobile is fun. Except that if you want to go further than the 3 free levels, it's 10 €, which is overpriced for a relatively short game. And above all, it is necessary to be connected to the Net to play. Forget the parties in transportation, plane, subway or a place where there is no connection.

I'm not entirely sure what's your expectations for a game, but I'd probably already dumped something like 10 hours into the game since launch and I'm only a third of the way through unlocking everything.

Is there any way to see the running time of an app on an iPhone?

Edit: Ah, looks like I can track it on Battery in settings. Looks like I"m at 10.5 hours.
