If you don't know what you're talking about, then you shouldn't comment on it, or at least take two minutes to google it. That code gives you exactly what Nintendo wants you to pick out of that terrible list.
Not really...

Downloaded, played. Loved it. Not easy if you are into getting the coins. Will pay definitely.

That's one of the central points of the game, and always has been for every Mario game since the dawn of time. Clearly, most commenters here don't understand this.

The game is beautifully executed. Controls although simple, are smooth and reactive. Timing is perfect. Music is fun and complementary. If you're into first person console shooters, you probably won't like it. If you like classic platformer games, you'll love. Brings back waves of nostalgia of NES, SNES and so on.

And for people freaking out over $9.99, wow. I know we live in an age of entitlement but it's $10. How much was your latte today?

Maybe they wanted to give people the option of having I18N for a country they weren't currently in? I personally don't want software tailoring my experience for where it thinks I happen to be.

The game is a bit short if you just speed run it to the flagpole. But if you try to get every red coin, purple coin and black coin, you will find the game considerably difficult and has a lot of replay value. Paid $9.99 for the game and not a single regret. Anyway I hate the always online requirement very much. But this is Nintendo, they always make stupid decisions and will not change no matter how you complain. They are 10x more stubborn than Apple. The very fact that they made a Mario game for iPhone is already unbelievable.

Would you have preferred a typical freemium paying method? Collect 1000 coins and wait 6 hours and watch ads to play the next level or unlock 3 next levels for 0.99?

Maybe you like that, but I prefer one-time payment to get all the content.

I don’t mind paying for games if there are enough levels to justify the price. £7.99 for six worlds which from what I’ve read adds up to only 24 levels isn’t good value.

Personally I don’t mind games with ads or games where you play for so long and then need to wait a duration of time for the next play

Should have bought a cellular iPad.

Nope. If I had it to do all over again, I would have bought the WIFI-only iPad. Why? Because there's no way I'm going to pay a monthly fee just to have the convenience of anywhere internet. No way. No how.

Surely it's not about number of levels, but about the amount of time you might get out of it.

Or are you saying a game with 10 levels that takes 10 minutes to complete is better than a game with five levels that takes five hours to complete?

I like it. Still don't think it's worth the $10 price tag. $3-5 would be a more comfortable price if I had to buy over again. That's just comparing it to other games. Mario Maker in the 3ds, for example, is more than 4x the game this is. And it's only 4x the price. I don't see myself revisiting Mario run years down the road.

As far as the always online aspect I imagine this is to try and curb piracy.

Just finished the normal stages. Now these stages are pretty difficult... that is until you get to the special pipe stages after getting all the respective coins. Those stages are gonna make you pull your hair out. I can't even FINISH the black coin pipe stage.

I'll admit I skimmed through the 11 pages of replies. Does paying the $9.99 fee unlock the game on all the accounts of family sharing or only the purchasing one?

How do you get it to sync on an iPhone and iPad?

I'v gotten as far as purchasing it on both (free on the iPad after buying it on the iPhone).

And I have created a Nintendo account and linked it to the iPhone game.

But when I try to link it on the iPad I just get an error code about how that account is already linked to another game account.

Any suggestions?

Indefensible. At the very least it should detect the region of the device (which is where the user is 99.999999999% of the time) and automatically scroll the table to that entry in the list.

I’m saying it would need more levels to justify the asking price. I’ve read numerous reports too that say the game is too easy and some have finished it the same day.

OK, but that's you moving the goalposts a bit.

People have gotten to the end of the game, but I'm not sure that's the same as finishing it and completing all the challenges.

Either way, I still think it's because other games are undervalued, rather than $10 being expensive.

People just expect far too much for virtually nothing these days.

Finished with collecting all the black coins as well? If so I'll buy them a beer...I'm sitting here about to pull my hair out trying to collect those damn black coins...if they're just running to the flag pole I can finish that before I get done taking a dump..

Installed last night, seems catchy, said I'll give it a long try. This morning when I was in the underground, tried to play again, but no internet, the game won't start. So the next move was: uninstall. Why a simple game like this needs Internet? It should've been simple and nice to play, like when you're flying,..this whole internet request thing makes it so .. shift.

You can, but they make a point to say that you can't play on two device at the same time.
That's untrue.

I've made one purchase, and shared my IAP with my childrens iPods, we were all playing the game simultaneously with no problem.

Like some others I was really excited to buy this game, but I got really frustrated with the auto run mechanic.

I know that's the whole point of the game, but I'm so used to the actual run button that I felt arbitrarily restricted, especially since Mario will actually jump backwards anyway when you wall run.

All this game really did was make me dust off my old DS lite and start replaying New Super Mario Bros for a much better time :p

However, this game will do it's job very well, which is renew much needed interest in Nintendo and their properties with the release of the Switch on the horizon which will provide the full Nintendo experience that users are clamouring for. If I could have already pre-ordered a Switch where I live, I would have already done so :D

The way a classic Mario game works does not work well with a touchscreen. Would you rather have onscreen buttons and have a terrible experience instead? One where the buttons obstruct the view of the game and are sometimes unresponsive?

Apparently you haven't played Oceanhorn. You should, it does work very well.

I have, and liked playing better with a physical controller. Besides, Oceanhorn isn't a platformer and for the most part doesn't require nearly as quick or precise inputs as a platformer like Mario. I've played a number of iOS platformers with full movement control with virtual controls, and always find it to be big compromise compared to using physical controls. I'm aware that some people get on well with virtual button controls and say they don't find it a compromise, but that's not true for a lot of people. I don't blame Nintendo for choosing to design a game which has controls optimized for the platform, rather than a game which requires a sub-optimal emulation of physical controls on a touch screen.

i m a big mario fan... i dont like the always running mechanic of the game... i dont like the always online requirement and i dont like the price being an in-app purchase which i cant share with family... not buying it...

Goddamn son, that's called getting your money's worth. Nicely done.

I've been spending most of my time on Toad Rally and have been neglecting the tour mode, personally.

Well, in a way Nintendo has been successful, then. Mobile is basically them marketing their properties so you'll be interesting in picking up their proper products. [See: Pokemon sales exploding after Pokemon Go's success.]

Honestly, this was a real show-stopper for me (the inability to use family sharing at that price tag). Come on, Nintendo, Mario was, is and always will be a "family" game, which parents love to play with their kids. Excluding it from Family Sharing creates lots of aggravation amongst users with more than 1-person households.

I applied for a refund (and got one) when I found this out.
