Exactly! Deflection 101 right there!! No one, and I mean no one, would rather have the notch over not having the notch. Man, Apple die hards slay me. 🤣 Whatever helps one sleep at night I suppose.
I agree, I have an iPhone 13 Pro, I don't really notice the notch now, it is exactly the same as when I was looking at a Samsung fold, I never noticed the fold, what I did see was a glorious screen. Just for info, I got the 13 pro because I found it integrated better with my hearing aids, I am really tempted by these new offerings from Samsung though. (I havent seen the new generation but was referencing what I saw from the last series).

What I tend to see in threads like these, are excuses not to buy the wonderful Tech on display and most of the time it is from hearsay, misplaced defence of ones own purchases or just ignorance. The fold on the screen is a non issue, the hinges, similar, a non issue.

It’s not deflection at all. This is a thread about the Samsung line of foldables, not my fetish for the notch. But if my only option is any other device that doesn’t have a notch, yes, I prefer the notch over not having one.

When the time comes and Apple no longer needs it for its design, I will welcome the notchless iPhone with open arms. But as of now, I LOVE the notch over a notchless phone.

Nothing helps me sleep, I have insomnia. And I’ve owned as many Android devices as I have iPhones, Mr. Diehard ;)
Again, you are deflecting. With all of this deflection and spin, you must either be a politician or you were one in a previous life. But that is okay, I'm not here to argue. 🙂 Enjoy your notch!

See there, a few posts back, clear as day. Yup. Me either, hugs!!! 🤗

If you’ve read any other posts in here, you’d see that same thing has been said a couple times.

And yes, much worse. For one, I like the notch. Always have. And second, the notch doesn’t run down the center of my screen. I guess third would be, the notch doesn’t start falling apart because I’m not folding/unfolding it a 100 times a day 😁
Not to sound like that type of person, but I haven't read your those other posts. If I did, apologies, but there's just too much going on to remember everything. And given all of the posts about "the notch", I'd figure "the fold" is the new notch. You won't be fine with a fold, and that's fine. But for the rest of us, it's something we can get over (like the notch)

Haha! You don’t sound like that and no worries here. I guess it could be the new notch depending on who is using it and who is bothered by it.

I simple stated the crease, because it runs down the middle of the screen, would be more distracting to me than the notch. The notch has never distracted me or obstructed anything I’ve watch/read. And it blew up into the last couple pages 😂

All I want is for people to buy what they want and enjoy it, no matter the brand. I started on Android and have owned just as many than iPhone. Apple is just where I found my happiness.

Just for balance, I do like the Samsung fold, I found that I didn't really notice the "fold," the screen was glorious though, where I didn't prefer it over the iPhone was in the thickness when it was closed, it was just a tad too chunky for me, open though, it was fabulous. I think that they will make the two halves thinner. That isn't to say that I am not tempted by this new iteration. You are right though, one should buy what one enjoys, I do own 2 iPhones a MBP, 2 iPads and Air Pod Pros, I found the new Sony WH-1000 XM5 over ear headphones better for my use than the Air Pods Max so that is what I bought. Listening to HD music I use a Fiio DAP and wired Camp Fire Audio iem's. I am no slave to any company and wont defend them just because they are Apple/Samsung/Fiio etc, I comment as I see them and would hope that everyone does, it is how we, the user gets the better kit rather than lining an already multi millionaire with more money for mediocre design and innovation.

When I got my Flip 3 a few months ago, I was like, wow, there really is a crease and you can feel it. It was kind of weird for a couple of days, after that, I didn't notice it at all visually. You definitely feel if with your fingers, but it's hard to explain, It doesn't degrade from the experience of using the phone at all.

The revolutionary function is fitting a bigger screen in your pocket or purse!
at the cost of having a crease down the middle of the screen? at the cost of moving parts where there were none before? I get that having a bigger screen could be nice, but ultimately the current size of my iPhone 12 pro screen is more than large enough for me. The question from my end... is why do I need a bigger screen on my phone? Whether android or iOS, I still need a laptop. So why wouldn't I use that if I needed a bigger screen?

I'm not saying this will be the case for everyone, but I've all but stopped using my Acer Swift 7 14" laptop and the thing only ways 1.9 lbs. I've probably only used it a handful of times since I got my Z Fold 3 last August. Outside of this and my machine for work, I use my 27" Retina iMac but that is it.

My comment seems to have gone completely over your head. You are also completely wrong in your response. Apple does, in fact have a patent on a scrolling display, which I mentioned to indicate that the comment I was responding to might be right about Apple's plans for an expandable display that rolls instead of folds. Check your facts before being so bold.

Apple having "a" patent will not stop others from coming up with a rollable display. Even LG and others have a patent for rollable screens.

Trust me, checking facts may be a new thing for you, but not for me.

Are you sure it's not a new thing for you? Because you seem to STILL be completely ignorant to my comment having nothing to do with anyone else making a rollable display? Since you stooped to insult, allow me to join you: can you read?

Moonlight was speculating that Apple could do something like a rollable display to solve the crease issue, and I responded indicating that such a thing was entirely possible because they have a patent for such a technology. You are lashing out like a fool. It's a bad look.

I saw your post history and you seem to disagree with people a lot, which is a red flag for me. So, I am going to reply to this post and I am done.

Apple has a patent. That does not stop others from developing rollable screens. Even if your point was right, my point does not say Apple cannot develop a rollable screen. At best, it is a non-sequitor. So, there was no reason for you to react the way you did. I have no interest in insulting anybody and any insult that you felt in the comments was generated by your own feelings.

Well, I got my Flip4 in and it's working great. Battery life is definitely better. A bit of a snag setting up Android Auto, but it's working now. Speed isn't a problem, and the screen is great.

It charges faster, so when it's plugged into my car for android Auto, it gets charged more, and it was at 80% when I put it on the charger a minute ago, even with all the setup and a bit of gaming. Even my old iPhone 11 Pro Max would be less than 80% by now. I don't expect it to stay that good as it's better than spec, but still, I don't think I'll have to worry about it like I occasionally did with the Flip3.
