Just picked up my Apple TV 64. Does anyone know how to check how much free space there is remaining. Also am wondering is there is a way to normalize volume levels like a sound check? The varying volume levels between movies, individual songs and apps is maddening. Thx in advance.

When Siri works, it's great.

But it really needs work. Siri remains a bit daft. Search for "28 days later" and it tells me it can't play movies in the future. Search for a movie with an "&" in the title and it can't find it. Search by actor, and it shows up.

Loving the new Apple TV, but I'm disappointed with Siri.

stupid on screen keyboard ? how far we've come... before bluetooth came in on ATV, we all phrased the onscreen keyboard for easy typing by remote, not all of us were happy further down the track..

We get to blue-tooth and again....."oh joy ... now i can ditch typing long and complex passwords via the remote"

Now , we have have issues the new Apple TV 4 doesn't work with the remote app like it did o Apple TV..

I don't think the first version of anything will work with the remote app.

Yes,,,, Why must u hold down the siri button to speak,,, why not press it instead? Feels like sticking a device in DFU mode.

Siri is really really fast on the new Apple TV. Wish they could cram her into the Apple Watch.

I'm not sure if you mean it some other way, but Siri is already on the Apple Watch, she just doesn't respond with voice feedback. You simply hold down the Digital Crown to access her, or raise your wrist to the watch face and say "Hey Siri," followed by your query.

It's just iTunes content. I couldn't get my not purchased from iTunes content to pull up with Siri or search. Big disipointment. Makes Siri a lot less useful for me.
It's such a huge disappointment. First time I tried it and found it couldn't index my own iTunes library, I was kind of gutted. It's my main usage ... The only advantage to having the new appletv is to bypass netflix's appalling user interface

So, kind of like pressing the Replay button my Roku remote, but I have to speak clearly?

Remember when it became passé to make voice phone calls to talk to people? The cell phone turned into the device you use to text people and access the web and send messages on social networking apps.

Now, when people watch TV, it's too much work to push buttons on handheld devices. Instead, the hot new thing is to speak to the handheld device to communicate with a computer.

So I can't control the new Apple TV with my Apple Watch??? As someone who spins while watching tv,that's been a HUGE part of why I love my watch. Guess ill be returning my Apple TV

Went out and picked up a 64 GB TV around 4pm today at Best Buy. They had plenty in stock and as I asked the employee how sales were he said they were steady. Disappointed that the remote app is not compatible and surely they will update it soon. I do like the new TV so far but it has room for improvement and Siri is limited. Really like the bluetooth headphone pairing. I Airplayed some streaming radio from my iTunes via my Mac to the TV with Bluetooth and no latency at all. Also liked that after a longtime of inactivity the TV turned off my TV and receiver. I have had some sudden closings of apps that return to the home screen especially when playing Music. I am not that impressed with the game apps with the remote so far but I am sure Apple and App Developers will make it much better as things should evolve quickly. There are some things to complain about for a first day product but a lot to look forward to as well.

There's a huge difference between typing on a touchscreen keyboard and entering text using a directional pad on a remote.

After playing with ATV4 for 6 hours, my conclusion is ATV2+jailbroken is better than ATV4 yet.

That's cause Of KODI and that is no longer supported on ATV2. I would not purchase a ATV2 knowing KODI support is gone

It was really more a tongue-in-cheek post about the absurdity of modern technology and isolationism in society. People add layers of abstraction in their communication with each other, but conversely seek more intimate interaction with the artificial.

Btw, there are remotes out there with keyboards on them -- some even use physical keyboards for better tactile feedback than you'd get from a touchscreen one.

My blu-ray player's remote supports triple-tap for letter entry, so I can enter faster than a directional pad without having to have a full keyboard on the remote.

Meh. Look, most people know what show they want to watch and jump to HBO Go or whatever and find it fast.

When Apple gets their **** together and can integrate with all services and can eliminate the cable box, I'll be impressed.

Even if the future is no cable and all streaming, Apple doesn't even allow all services such as Amazon. So, it's always gonna be half baked.

Amazon made the business decision to keep their streaming service off Apple TV, it's not a case of Apple not allowing it. Amazon believe they can complete with Apple in the streaming space and are keeping their own streaming service for their own devices.

You should be able to pair Apple TV with your iPhone and the iPhone shares any passwords with the Apple TV - like the watch does for wifi etc.

No excuses for not having the remote app compatible at launch really.

I think it was a mistake to put so much importance on Siri.

I'm confident that almost everyone will not use Siri for interacting with the Apple TV, because it's innately unnatural to speak to a box. You would have thought that Apple would have built an app for the Apple Watch that allows you to flick through TV stations. That's another big flaw with Cook's thinking about TV: apps are not the right medium for TV; channels are. It's much quicker pressing a button once to get to another station than it is to close an app, open another app and navigate to the station you want.

I don't think this is the future of TV that Steve Jobs worked out; it seems too slow and clunky. Surely, the ideal TV interface would be customised to show all your favourite content accessible with one tap, and that content would include all non-iTunes content, live TV and cable together with iTunes. There would be no logging in whatsoever, as the TV would sync log-in details via iCloud from your iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch or Mac.

I disagree - but they have to get it right. If I can genuinely use natural language then I'll talk to the TV happily. I use Kinect on the Xbox one for basics like on/off/pause/mute, but it is too clumsy to actually use for playing video so I have to reach for the remote.

'Play the latest episode of Game of Thrones' would be enough for me to jump in really (as long as that searched my local rips. Ideally on plex but if I have to import to iTunes I'll do it)
