I turned off Always On and my battery is between 50-60% at night. That's pretty much in line with my older S2.

Still having battery issues. Using Infograph watch face I cannot even come close to making it through a day. I had some complications that I tried to turn off (like Noise) but not sure this helped. I went back to Siri Watch Face and had better battery, but it died at about 15 hours. My series 3 never once died during a normal day. Almost at a point where I wonder if I need to return the watch for a new one.

Curious if anyone else is having issues with certain watch faces/complications draining the battery.
So depending on the watch face you are getting better battery life?

Mind is on 51% at 5pm after taking off charge at 7.30am

I have an AW5 and I have found the AOD is bright enough that I turned off the Raise to Wake feature.

With Raise to Wake off, reduce motion on, hey Siri off, ambient hearing monitoring off, a bunch of needless notifications disabled and Theater mode on while sleeping, > my first (full 24hr) day of using the watch (got it yesterday, no exercises recorded) - the battery is at 40%. So all in all, pretty good IMO for Day 1.

I don't know what's different for me but raise to wake being on isn't causing me issues. I'm at 73% after almost 6 hours of usage and I look at my watch a lot. Today I've been using infograph modular with nothing in the large middle part. Don't know if that helped.

Had a better battery life day after a hard reset and then just turning the power on/off last night. I also took off the noise complication. After about 15 hours I was down to 8%. Still not as great my series 3, but maybe getting better. I'll keep experimenting and report back.

My watch died at 11pm after off charge at 7.30am which included 40 min workout

Put brightness down to 2 bars instead of full

I think this is just wishful thinking. Apple didn’t increase the battery size and is using the exact same processor. But now the display is always on. The moment they announced this feature this is the outcome I expected.

Not sure where you got that info, the battery is 10% larger in the S5.

I think the iFixit tear down said 1.x%, not 10%.

Did a full 24hr test (Day 3 of owning the AW5) - did two workouts with GPS at 1.5hrs total, slept with the watch on, it was @20% when put back on the charger. (AOD was on, raise to wake off, sound monitoring off, many notifications disabled).

Hmm... 9 to 5 Mac quoted them as saying 10%.

Reading about your results puts me more at ease, I will consider going over to an Apple Store tomorrow and picking one up and handing down my Series 2 (which still works great).

After the 6.01 update, I was at 46% when put back on the charger this time. So it seems to have helped some of us.

Alright, you sold me. I picked mine up day before yesterday and will hand down my S2 to my mother.

First day with OS6 my S5 was draining FAST. Yesterday I installed 6.01 and also appeared to stabilize mine. I went for a 40 minute run, wore it all day and it was at around 45% charge by midnight.

I charged it while I ran and wore it to sleep and it dropped 11% over night. It’s now sitting at 61%. I will try to go out for an hour or more of a run tonight and see how much the battery drains.

Awesome, good luck! I did disable a lot of the notifications, background services, etc - maybe old school thinking but I feel every bit helps. Also I sleep with it in Theater mode. Seems to help for the overnight drain and you still get all the metrics needed for an app like Autosleep.

Alright, so a full day of regular use including maps for 10 minutes, 103 minute run using Nike Run Club app, quite a few text messages and started the day off with 90% and ended with 14% at around 10:15 p.m.

I’m impressed with the battery life, theater mode while sleeping certainly makes a huge difference.
I charged it while I was in the shower and it’s back to 95%.

I’ll try to top it off tomorrow after I wake up.
