Which is all it needs to be. It’s too small for Pro usage. But Apple doesn’t want to go lower than the base price of the 11”‘iPad so they give the mini a few Air features and Air pricing.
Apple should give the Mini an OLED screen and allow for 1hz low refresh rate to push it as an ebook reader which would help promote the failing Apple Books platform. I'd ditch the kindle and grab one for that.

WTH, Apple? I owned the original Mini, the 4 and the 5 and this was NEVER an issue. It’s the biggest complaint users and non-buyers quoted in regards to the Mini 6 but you still didn’t fix it?
They fixed it for people who use their device properly (landscape) ;)

It's there on every Mini 6/7 in portrait

It's on my Mini 5 in landscape

Whether one notices it and/or is bothered by it is the subjective part
After I finally setup everything iPad mini 6 to iPad mini 7, honestly it is noticeably better then the mini 6 looking at various web content. I am not making this up, on my new blue one received today. I looks like the response time is a lot faster, perhaps, and its like you see things more aligned left to right when you touch the screen and use your finger in a somewhat circular up and down scrolling movement. Yes I am one that could tune it out of seeing, but that never preventing me from recreating it using in a way I normally don't view content.

Still can't believe it's been 3 years since I bought our two Mini 6's. Time flies!

On a good note, Best Buy is still offering $350 for a 256 Wifi-only Mini 6 (I checked Space Gray & Starlight). Not sure why cellular models with the same storage are worth so much less ($185 at BB...$235 last time I checked at Apple).

I used BB to trade in one of our two Mini 6's for $350 6 weeks ago. It was much better than Apple was offering. Good to see you can still get price that if you're trying to trade-up. BB's in-store trade-in was painless and reasonably quick.

If it had a promotion OLED display and a 1 inch sensor for the camera it would be a dream. I’d use it as a phone but not sure how I’d mount an iPad on my dash for navigating?

Happy with mine. I do find the 60Hz scrolling a little jarring coming straight from my iPhone 16PM but not so bad otherwise. Don't see any jellyscroll.
Also miss the inky blacks of OLED. Understandable these things are to be expected at this price point.

Swiping the screen isn't as smooth as the screen protector on my phone and would put one on the mini if I can find one that has the film pull, dust free installation method.

Sold my Mini 5 to take advantage of the 'C' port on the 6; Both with cellular and 256 Gb. Use it 95% in landscape; (except when doing GPS duty in the car) no 'jelly' anything. Unless the buttons etc. become MUCH friendlier to landscape, I'll stay with the 6.

Same on my Mini 7, in both horizontal and portrait viewing, as Dan mentioned in his MR review. It's interesting that those who make a fuss about that don't even own a Mini 7 - yet believe they're the arbiter of truth on the subject.

Spot-on regarding an OLED screen not being compatible with the Mini's low price point that Apple is keeping. Imagine the epic rants if Apple increased the price by $50-$100 as a result.

The Mini display is superb, and is sharper than my Mini 5 - comparing them side by side.

At the 6:00 mark in the video below, the Jelly Scrolling comments are very fair and balanced

Basically, he is a user that wasn't really bothered by jelly scrolling, but he admits that he can see it now that he knows what it is, it's there on both the Mini 6 and the Mini 7, but it's better (reduced) on the Mini 7 and his excellent video work really shows that distinction.

I can still see it quite clearly here on the 7 but it for sure seems reduced, which is great to see at the minimum

Stage Manager enhances content consumption. It enables me to set up multiple app clusters and switch between them very quickly. I hope Apple one day enables official Stage Manager support for iPad Mini.
You can turn it on using Nuget or MisakaX app.

I can’t believe with apples history of quality and their almost endless piles of money, they haven’t 100% sorted the jelly scroll issue.

Considering they are a “premium” brand, their addiction of cost cutting and bowing down to profit margins are detracting from what made them good in the first place.
They wont invest more money on part that is on end of life like 60hz lcd screen.
Next one will be oled or even microled (assuming that next mini will be out in 3-4 years.

Also as someone said: A lot of ipads mini are gonna be used in kiosks and as payment devices in shops. Apple knows this and wont put there a lot of "newtech".

I use shortcuts for that same purpose, to open twin apps in split-screen mode. Found overlapping app windows to be too annoying to manage.

Some apps I use - mostly games - cannot be forced into split-screen mode. Id like the ability to use splitscreen in one stage and then app clusters in another.

Regarding your Moko iPad Mini 7 case... is there anything you don't like about it?

How about your Mini 7? Anything you don't like about it?

Thanks!

I bought this case for my Mini 6 (not upgrading) after seeing the photos that iHeartSteve posted. I liked the look of the Cherry folio launched with the 6 but felt that it was a little too dark to really suit that shade of purple iPad. I also ideally want a case that covers the sides so the price that Apple charges to only cover the front and back is too much for me.

The photos posted reminded me of the Cherry folio, so at ~£9 I decided to grab one. In the UK but the colour is named identically to that on the US Amazon site so it is presumably exactly the same.

I’m pleased with it and think that it is better than the one Amazon calls Deep Cherry - looking closely, there’s a sort of worn, two shade look to that one that I don’t think I would like. It is slim and lightweight and fits nicely into a Moko tablet sleeve in which I also keep a microfibre cloth. I have another case that works well to stand the mini up for viewing but that one is too thick to go in the sleeve.

If I had any criticisms of it, they would be:

a) The left hand side isn’t covered - but that bothers me less on a 3 year old iPad than it would had I just upgraded. I knew this when I bought it; I had the version they call Fragrant Flowers on launch with the Mini 6 and it wasn’t clear then that I saw, I only realised when I got my Mini home and opened the case to put the iPad in it.

Only covering the edges on the left hand side isn’t necessary for a case to close - I have others that cover all sides including one with a soft back like this. If a side were left uncovered, I’d rather it be the right - enabling a SIM change without needing to remove the case. But as Apple have now removed the sim tray from the cellular version, I guess such a case will never exist.

b) The patterned Moko case I have doesn’t have Moko embossed onto it, so not sure why they did it with a case of a solid colour. You wouldn’t expect this from Amazon’s stock photos.

Here’s the case on the Purple Mini 6 and showing the exposed side:
