Add me to the list of people who purchased two new iPhone 4's and they work great with no issues and loving all the new features in iOS4 along with a great screen.

Can't wait for the next release of iPad, hoping Apple adds the same type of screen to it. I't so much more clear than my old 3GS ever was. :)

LCD vs Plasma

I've experienced the issues, but I wouldn't want another phone unless Apple made it. The issues aren't a deal breaker.

My .02

After using the iPhone and iPad side-by-side for a couple of days now, it seems

1. The iPad screen is like a LCD TV. The iP4 screen is like a plasma. Rrrrich :D

2. I thought the retina display wouldn't be a big deal, but it is. Everything on the screen seems to be kind of floating on the surface, almost like 3D in 2D if that makes any sense. Probably not

3. My family and friends haven't gotten their's yet, so I haven't used Face Time. But the front-facing camera just makes taking pics of yourself so much easier and FUN!

4. Sound quality is boosted through my Mogo BT headset. I have to turn it down, where before on the 3GS, I had to turn it up.

5. The design is plain, flat, but that actually feels better in the hand.

I could go on, but I'll give it a rest for now.

Another one hear who is happy with the iPhone 4... got no signal issues etc. and really enjoying the screen. Still not quite sure about the flat/square design as the 3G/3GS feels much happier sat in my hand but having had it a few days now I'm getting used to it :)

Am just uploading a video of my iP4 showing it's got no signal issue as I feel there are far too many negative videos on YouTube and wanting to show it'd not ALL iPhone 4's with the issue!

THANK YOU original poster for posting this. Lately I've been feeling like a majority of the people in these forums are just complaining for the sake of complaining. Like OP said, don't hold the phone with a vice-like grip and you'll be fine. I have yet to drop a call.

I too am absolutely in love with this phone! I went to the movies with some friends and before the show they were playing around with the camera. One of my friends managed to turn on the flash and everyone was shocked at how effing bright that LED is! I also love the fact that the phone is so fast! When I had my 3G I avoided using Pandora because it took forever to load songs, and if I got a text I'd have to close it. Now I can keep listening all the time and it loads music so quickly, even while I'm driving (during which I DON'T text).

The only concern I have is about the fragility, for some reason I'm a little apprehensive to set it down on the table naked...I don't want any scratched. I ordered a bumper, but it says it won't ship until the 1st. Maybe I'll see if any stores around me have some in stock and I'll buy from them and sell the other one.

All in all, my feelings are perfectly summed up by the title of this thread :)

120 out of 600,000 people cry on the internet and everyone assumes 100% of the phones are broken.

Iphone 4 IS the best phone yet.

Serously dude. engadget was able to reproduce the problem. I am able to reproduce the problem. Apple has admitted there is a problem.

What in the **** purpose is this thread? Do you really think I dropped several hundred dollars because I somehow hate Apple? Do you think I bought an iPad too because I hate Apple?

I bought a phone. I love it, except when I hold it the 'wrong way' and the data speed and phone reception goes to crap.

Your thread does nothing but confuse the issue for all of us that are trying to get a resolution to this issue.

I bought mine at 7am on launch day and haven't experienced any problems. I can duplicate the antenna issue if I purposefully hold the phone with my left hand covering both parts, but it has not been a problem in actual use at all. In fact, I'm getting better reception than my 3GS in many spots. And everything just seems so much snappier, especially the camera.

And 800 threads about an issue that no one has given Apple a chance to fix yet do what exactly? Seriously dude...

My reception is also better if I don't hold the phone like that. In fact... I don't hold the phone like that when I'm talking.

The ISSUE is that I do cup the phone like that when using the internet on it. I'm sure you do too.... or apps that use the internet. This is when the problem manifests itself.

Yes, and there may be hundreds of phones with the problem, but there are hundreds of thousands without it!! Just because you, engadget, and 100 other people have the problem doesn't make it common. This is a thread of all the people who DON'T have any problems, because everyone else is just complaining and the people who have perfect iPhones don't (normally) make threads saying (even though I think these should be posted more than the complaining threads) 'Ooooh look my iPhone is perfect!!'.

I can't wait to get my iPhone 4.

Incredible display
No Antenna issues
Decent Batterylife
No yellow dots

Actually this is my 1. iphone (after owning 1. gen ipod touch and 3. gen ipod touch) and I'm really happy with it, upgraded from nokia97 and rellay happy about it.

I just love it and I'm really glad I preordered.
Hope the Apple patch will get things straight for all the affected users though.

Actually, this thread gives people a chance to post the other side of the story. If not everyone is experiencing signal loss, then what is wrong with informing others? I'm sorry that you are having this issue, but it doesn't mean that only the negative threads should be allowed.

I think you people are completely crazy.

This is fanboism at it's worst. Some people have problems on the first production run. It seems to be pretty widespread.

You don't have a problem. Good for you. The only purpose this thread serves is to take attention away from a problem that Apple needs to fix to help customers out. I love Apple as much as you do. However, I want my phone fixed.

Another happy user. Yes, my battery seems to go a little faster than I'd like, and I have a couple of stuck pixels that I wouldn't have seen had I not been looking for other problems (due to reading all the threads here) - but I couldn't imagine having another phione, or going back to my 3G.

LOVE my new phone :)

I'm very pleased with my iPhone and to be honest every year there are so many people bitching and complaining. This is my 4th iPhone and I have never once had to have one replaced. I guess I'm just lucky.

Please do me a favor, as this will tell me if certain phones have some type of coating that insulates the antennas.

Place your iP4 on its side with volume buttons up. Now place a nickel across the seam. Wait 60 seconds and tell me what it did. I want a phone that doesn't have a problem. My reception goes away if I hold it "wrong".

I did just what you asked, my phone went from 5 bars to 3 bars, which in my eyes is perfectly fine. Making a call with three bars is pretty normal.

I'm sorry for people that have issues, but you are the extreme minority for the 1.7 million people that purchased Iphone 4 already.

Let me tell you, I've gotten more enjoyment out of the i4 in the first 4 days than I did with my 3G in 2 years. :D

I will say once again iPhone 4 is the best phone i have ever owned and i've had phones and gadgets going back to the days of the pocket PC :D

Keep up the good work apple:apple::apple::apple:
