It may be time to reevaluate your priorities if you can get "bored" with a top-spec phone (aka allows you to do what you want on it without limitations). Apple shouldn't be expected to and won't ever consider yearly freak-changes for the sake of change. The 6, 6s, 7 design is their best and they know that, hence the sticking with it while listening to consumers and moving the antenna bars.

Android vs iPhone is like a super-hot woman vs the girl-next-door - you go out with the first for a while[B/] but marry the second.

Depends how long until the first major software upgrade. She won't be compatible with any life upgrade and then you move on while she becomes the old lady in 70's clothing, unable to upgrade.

How do you like the pixel?
I really like it. The things I enjoy about it are the 5" 1080p AMOLED screen, fast charging and I like what google has done with their Pixel Launcher. Since it looks similarly to an iPhone on the front, I feel like it was an easier transition from iOS/iPhones to Android. This is the longest I've had an Android phone for, usually after like 2-3 days I am back on iOS, but I've had this phone as my primary device for 2 weeks now.

Yup. I switched to the Google Pixel XL. No regrets whatsoever. Plus I had so many issues with my 7 Plus that Verizon gave me a $439 bill credit. No phone bill for a few months.

Give it a few more weeks:D

Nope, my phone is a tool/device that accomplishes things that I need to do on a daily basis. If it accomplishes those tasks without problems or issues then it does what its supposed to.
Its not an xbox game or toy I get bored playing with.
I don't believe that someone who frequents these forums views their iPhone as only a tool.

Bored? Nah. It's just a phone and personal device. I have better things to worry about.
Then why are you reading and posting here?

for the first part that you said you don't believe someone who frequents this forums views their phone as only a tool. most people who got the 7 probably had a 6 or 6s. now those phones are still good for everything you need/want to do. games etc. I have a few games i play regularly, but mostly i use mine for news/email/texts. and my first iPhone was the 3g on release date. we've come to the point where if you have a 6 or 6s, you don't really NEED a 7, but if you want one and have the disposable income then why not. its always cool to have something new. like if you have a ps4 and want the ps4 pro to play games in 4k. or want a VR gaming headset.

Believe what you want.

I visit this forum regularly. iPhone is just a tool to me. A tool that is useless without the internet and App Store. The "fun" is all in the content, in other words, how you *use* it.

Specs are great but the UI is what makes using a phone interesting and iOS is so limiting in what users can do to customize their phone vs Android that it is beyond boring. But it's still my preferred platform though due to security.

Even though I'm back on iPhone. I do miss some features that my deceased S7 Edge offer.

Low light and food mode shot,
Sharp display,
Easy theme Store customise,
Default notification alert for all apps,
Instant notification on TOP which is very fast,
Downloading, files moving in es explorer,
Swipe down app for home, recent app,
Screen lock app,
Certain news app remember my last visit.....
Adult app hehehe (I'm a man too)

But compare to the Store Library. Apple range is wider, more smooth,
Good app for Musician and I do not have to be OCD to adjust a lot of settings.....

Apple had better cloud backup too.

Sharp display yeah right. You do realised Samsung AMOLED'S are oversaturated and not natural-looking - most people agree with that. Additionally Samsung are trying to use Pentile Matrix Display's instead of RGB panels. Pentile share subpixel colurs instead of using individual RGB colours. This also affects viewing angles as well.

Apple don't allow downloading files purely from a security standpoint. As for your other features, these are not features.

Since any old flip phone can do what I require (and most have decent cameras)....

I upgraded from a 6 Plus to the 7 Plus. While the camera on the 6 Plus was amazing, the 7 Plus is a considerable upgrade. I took image-stabilized 4K video of a live music performance from a balcony, and the picture was as good or better than anything a broadcast network would bring us. Comparing either of them to the camera in any old flip phone is ludicrous.

It looks really nice the couple times I looked at it but Chrome seemed to be laggy when browsing the web. I was on the same wifi at Best Buy and my iP7 safari seemed way snappier. Any thoughts on this ?

Samsung's displays are the highest rated. There's no point in even arguing that.

My point was not a comparison of cameras. My point was to say that the camera on any old flip phone is good enough for me.

Apple can do whatever the hell it wants with it's camera in the iPhone. If network broadcast quality is what attracts you or others to buy the iPhone then well and good.

I don't need that. I snap the occaisional picture. If there is anything I REALLY want to preserve, I go down to Walmart and buy one of those disposable cameras for $10 and then have Walgreens process the photos.

Two thirds of my camera roll are images downloaded from the internet or screencaps. I don't use my phone as a camera.

So, again. Aesthetics trump features for me.

In today's world you're type is rare to be honest.

They only look oversaturated and unnatural when using Samsung's default screen mode. You can switch the mode to 'Basic' to get extremely accurate colors while will maintaining its industry-leading contrast and color gamut.

Some are just happy the iPhone does what it does.

Some jailbreak to open it up to show its true potential.

Others like me after using iPhones for so long and jail breaking decided to look at other options.

I'm using a Samsung Galaxy s7 edge right now and am very happy with what it does. The customisation on this thing is off the chart.

I don't think it's a matter of 'coming back'

It's a matter of using what works for you.
