30gr. difference aren't really "almost" the same weight and the weight difference of the 13 Pro is (for me) definitely noticeable!

You would find it very difficult to tell a difference of 30g. That’s the equivalent to a small packet of crisps. You’d have to be seriously sensitive and overthinking it to notice that, if at all.

Wow really?! You can actually feel the 30 grams?! Damn!

Actually, you CAN FEEL that weight difference, and I'm not the only one with this concern, just search here or on reddit. I think, it's more a problem of weight distribution because I felt the Pro Max was for me more comfortable to hold than the pro.

iPhone 8 -> Iphone SE (2016) -> iPhone 7

So I downgraded and now I'm slowly reupgrading.

I certainly felt the weight difference. Some people are sensitive to that. I don’t know why these guys are being so condescending.

I went back down to an iPhone 8 and iPad mini 5, bc iOS 15 was obnoxious and even worse to use than iOS 14. No regerts, they both work better with less clutter. I downgraded monterey back to Mojave bc Monterey doesn’t work with anything ever, and I downgraded Windows 11 to 10 because the Surface 8 has an even worse Ui than 10, but with even less reliable functionality. I downgraded my synth from a big digital Korg to a fully analog Moog I built myself, bc Apple doesn’t respect standards and repeatedly broke the USB connectivity, and when my Prius finally gives up the ghost, I’m going to downgrade my automobile to a commuter bike, and then downgrade my citizenship right on out of this country to the old country. I’m the downgrade king, I guess.

It must depend if you’re a person sensitive to this sort of thing, I am not.

I downgraded - sort of. I occasionally switch off to a Google Pixel 5. :)

My parents, now in their 80s but still spry, got their first smartphones - and they went Android. They're also Windows users for computers and although I frequently hear, "Damn this Windows system! Next time I'm getting a Mac!" from my father, he keeps getting new Windows laptops. It's the old Sticking-With-What-You-Know syndrome. When they accepted the inevitability of smartphones they asked me, their on-call tech support, for recommendations and of course I said "iPhone." I've been using iPhones for a decade and have learned a thing or two about fixing issues and integrating smart home features. Aaaaaaaaand... my parents went with Android. As I am their own on-call tech support I figured I'd best be familiar with Android when they call about a borked update or with an issue with an app.

So occasionally I switch from my iPhone 13 Pro Max to my Google Pixel 5 for a week or two. Gets me back in the Android mindset and also reminds me why I prefer iOS and the iPhone.

Yes - Went from an iPhone 13 to an SE 2020 due to the OLED display causing nausea and eye-strain

Regrets being that I have to use an obsolete device solely due to a display incompatibility, but I'm not alone

Hopefully the SE 3 2022 uses a liquid retina LCD, or Apple can improve the OLED issues in the future but I'm not holding my breath
nah, they wont... the new SE will be just another XR

Have you tried Pixel 6?

Have you tried Pixel 6?
I'm holding off on the Pixel 6. Seems like there are a lot of issues with the 6/6Pro, and my Pixel 5 is working perfectly. I'll wait a couple months and take a look at the Pixel 6a. I'm in no rush as my primary phone is the iPhone 13 Pro Max.

There are a few things my iPhone does so much better than an Android phone. Apple keeps me coming back.

I have downgraded before. Mainly sold or traded an iPhone for android and regretted it, so bad that I took whatever deal I could get just to have an iPhone again. Happy with my 12 and the deal I got.

On photography. I had all the equipment. DSLR and lenses etc BUT! No point having all the gear unless it’s with you all the time. Photos are spontaneous. If you go out with gear it’s planned or forced.

I have won photography competitions. You should hear the guys with multi thousand pound kits bowing down to my iPhone. Haha.

Best camera is the one that’s with you.

I guess so! And I did not even realize that until your post, and sure enough you are right!

Time for me to watch that movie again . . .

I wanted one, but it was either CellularOne, or AT&T, didn't support them, or something. Can't remember, but I was also probably rocking a StarTAC possibly at that time? It was so long ago, it seems...

It was a long time ago, although it almost seems like yesterday . . .

I was living in Istanbul at the time. The cell providers were either Nokia or Erikson. I really liked the Nokia designs and had that 8110 model for several years while living there.

I "downgraded" from a 12 to an 11. My 12 mini got destroyed in a bike accident and I was able to get a good deal on the 11. As it turns out I actually prefer the rounded edges of the 11 and although the screen isn't as vibrant I think I actually prefer LCD.

I went from a 12 Mini to an SE ‘16. I am enjoying the size a lot and the performance is still good to this day on iOS 15. I will likely go back to the 12 Mini once iOS 16 is released.

Last November I downgraded from a 12 mini to an 11 Pro!
It's funny, in early 2020 I upgraded from my SE 2016 to an 11 Pro but returned the 11 Pro because it was too big and heavy.

In that time I've started taking a lot more photos and got back into Instagram. I now really wanted the telephoto lens and a slightly bigger screen but didn't want the size or cost of a 12 Pro or 13 Pro. I bought a used 11 Pro for almost exactly what my 12 mini sold for, and after a few months I'm surprisingly used to the size and weight.

Since the improvements were so minor between the two gens I don't feel like I'm missing out on anything. It still has Deep Fusion, UWB, and a great chipset. 5G does not matter to me. And being a Pro model, the screen is slightly brighter than the 12 mini.

I just really miss the green color my 12 mini had ?

Family offered me a 13 for Christmas ..... I checked them out in the Apple store and frankly, have never been so underwhelmed. Same as the 8, really, nothing's changed. A bit quicker, a bit slicker but absolutely nothing to bring me back. The camera is still garbage (2022, 12MP... wow!!!).

I used to get pretty excited about upgrading Apple gear.... now I feel like I'm being ripped off.

I'm the same way. I had an iPhone 6s+ since it came out, recently upgraded to a iPhone 8+. Pretty much no difference, better speakers, brighter screen, but is it really worth all the money? I'll probably keep this one for another five, six years. It's a mature product. I'd rather spend the money on other things.
