I ordered the white pack one as it seems to only have a small cut out around the speaker, the two pack ones looked more open around there. I guess I’ll find out in a few days when it comes if it’s good or not.

Yes, only one opening for the speaker. See post #9 in this thread. No problem what so ever with Face ID, and I never had to retrain it after glass installation. Still registering my face at 100% accuracy.

Both iBlason and iCarez probably started production of these protectors before testing it out with a real iPhone X to capitalize on being one of the first to release a edge-to-edge which is why there are currently no true 3D protectors that have consistent reviews. This is why Peel has said that itll take a month or two before they can sell their own 3D screen protectors. The 2.5D is more forgiving which is why there are few less reported problems.

I'm not saying that the 3D absolutely wont work, I'm saying that on average you are more likely to buy one that doesn't fit perfectly then not. You may get lucky, but the best bet is the 2.5D one which has more consistent reviews.

Or you can buy like 5 3D ones and hope one of them fits perfectly. Or you can wait for them to release a new batch which i-blason reported will be happening in the future.

Red box has been great for me. Save my screen already following a drop since I don’t use a case. It was cracked but glad a I had an extra.

That said, I don’t think it’s technically 3D

I hope mine doesn't suck. I don't get my phone 'til tomorrow, but hopefully it's a nice fit. If it isn't I'll try some of the suggestions in here.

I can understand why you would think the full coverage one is less forgiving. Since it goes literally from edge to edge, the fit requires it to be aligned perfectly. On the other hand the 2.5D one has more room for error.

However, I don’t buy your argument that you need to get lucky to receive a “good” one. These are not hand made. They are all cut from the same equipment under the same specs. I counter argue that the issue is the skill of the installer, not the glass itself.

"User error" is usually an argument proposed by someone who is the exception to the rule. The general concensus seems to be that there is an issue with the 3D protectors that are currently out right now. And that is easily evident by the general reviews on this forum as well as on amazon.

Whether it is due to quality control, faulty measurements, or whatnot is up for debate. Hand-made or not, "yields" are often talked about in manufacturing. Perhaps the iCrazed allowed a looser quality control for their yields since they did not know the exact specifications when they first started manufacturing the screens.

I finally read the reviews on Amazon, and I am convinced that the issues reported were fixable by skilled installers.

I have seen those big bubbles at the corners in the past. It is caused by the glass not matching the flatness/curvature of the screen service, which could be a misalignment by user.

It can be fixed by gentle heating by hair dryer while clumping down the corner with a laundry clip. Usually 10-15 min intermittent heating, followed by another 15-30 min clamping would do the trick. If it is off by a lot, overnight clamping may be required.

Its not misalignment when iBlason is telling their customers that they are updating their screen protectors to fix the problem.

If you are trying to fix a screen protector fitment with clamps and hair dryers, it is NOT a misalignment issue. It is a product issue.

It is counter productive to complain that a product error is due to misalignment because you can just use circular logic and argue that every single bad screen protector is due to misalignment. "Oh this product didnt work because of misalignment. Also there is no way for you to prove that it isn't because youve already messed the integrity of the product when you misaligned it."

Blaming all of the complaints of a product to "user error" is a rather naive and condescending conclusion, just because you happened to get a good screen protector.

I am quite satisfied with mine from iCarez

Thank you for sharing, I guess we’ll just have to agree to disagree here, and let others judge who they want to believe.

Time will tell.

I just received and installed my I-Blason protector and am very impressed. This is the third one I’ve tried and this one by far is the nicest looking as the edges are curved, protected and soft. The top FaceID cover isn’t intrusive and blends in naturally.

Installation was pretty easy with the tray provided. My only complaint is that it’s hard to figure out the right way to put the tray on as the instructions provided didn’t match the actual tray. Also, I have a skin installed on my phone and the tray was harder to get on and peeled off my skin edges. Not a big deal as tomorrow I am reinstalling a new skin anyway.

Bubbles were easier to get out than previous tries.

So far so good!

I really like mine.

One thing I am noticing with the I-Blason is that dust is getting in the speaker compartment and sliding behind the the protector above it...

That’s the only unfortunate thing about it. Wish they would update that.

Thats why I pointed out that the second opening serves no purpose and is inexplicable. Some dismissed it as unimportant.

I’ve been through several from Amazon and they all are terrible. If you look at the ones with good overall reviews, they are fake as the verified purchase reviews are terrible. I wish Zagg made the Glass+Luxe as I loved that for my previous iPhone 6+. I hate the look of the non-3D protectors as well..
I bought the Tozo case and glass screen protector. I love it. They fit perfectly together

It’s definitely an annoyance but is easily rectified by blowing into the opening which clears the dust out. I only had to do it once in 3 days. It’s not perfect but so far I’ve tried several others which were far worse.

I'm impressed with the icarez one. Looks great on the phone and doesn't even look like I have a protector on it. Of course it has the noticeable cutout for the speaker, but other than that feels/looks great to me.

ICarez is just as smooth.
Yep we have the red box iCarez on 4 phones, all with various cases. No issues at all and they have that super smooth "new protector feel. I'm sure that will eventually wear out as the oleophobic coating degrades as they always do, but at this price it's not a big to to swap them out after a year or so. Totally love the look and protection of the full coverage. It's really like not having a protector on at all.

Two thumbs up for the icarez red box as well!! Thanks to all that recommend it. :) It went on without bubbles, feels great, and works with my case!! I'm finally happy lol ;)

Icarez white box and Ibaison are from what i can tell basically the same. Both are 3d curved, red box icarez is not 3d curved.

The white box icarez and ibasion in theory are better, I am using icarez white on my phone right now. HOWEVER be warned both are a CRAZY HARD to get right with no bubbles.

The installation HAS to be a flawless match up to the screen, if its not, even by a hair you will have to lift and reapply. Secondly, even with a perfect installation i have had them not stick, I ended up purchasing about 3 of the white box and 2 of the ibiason.

1 ibaison would not lay down with no bubbles no matter what i tried... returned, the other went down flat no bubbles but i ended up somehow a few days later and got a bubble.. returned.

2 out of the 3 icarez laid down perfectly after performing brain surgery to get them on but the 3rd would not - returned that one.

Once they are on, they are dam near impossible to see installed and imho worth the effort.
