It seems that there has been a fair amount of movement between the 13 Pro and Pro Max in both directions! Curious to hear why you made the move and are you glad you did?

I too am undecided. I mainly use my phone for email, texting, web browsing and the occasional YouTube video. The Max is uncomfortable in my hand, but b/c of vision issues, the Max might be easier to see in standard mode.

So I am torn between hand comfort and vision.

I suppose I could increase the text size or use Zoomed mode?

Any thoughts that might help me decide? Thanks.

Maybe get the Pro and some better glasses from the savings? I read a lot and prefer the biggest screen possible but also don’t find the PM uncomfortable in hand.

Good try - can’t decide in 5 minutes at a store …

Buy both and decide at home during the return period if the store time isn’t sufficient. Apple staff keeps pushing the idea that the return period of 14 days is there for exactly those who are not decided. Take them up on it!

I have been using the 13 pro max for the since Tuesday and am leaning to returning it for the 13 pro. Now this may sound weird, but the icon spacing and general spacing of widgets on the max bothers me. There just seems to be a wee bit more empty space than the 13 pro. I am going to the Apple Store today just to be sure that I am not imagining things. :)

I’m still very undecided this year. I love the screen size of my Max and the battery life, but it’s too heavy, I’d love a lighter weight phone. I just don’t know if I’d be happy with the Pro.
And no, going into a store and holding them doesn’t give you a feel for how it works in your everyday life. And buying both, well no need to even add anything further on that one.
@kp98077 what are your thoughts? What do you have and are you keeping it?

Yeah I hear ya! Yeah had a max and likes it but same concerns as you. Have a pro now, much better and easy to handle IMO. Battery life is so so also IMO. Just have issues sometime with seeing text on screen with documents. It’s all trade offs! The max screen is a beauty of
Course!

I’ve had both and made my decision today to stick with max and sent 13 pro back. Battery was so-so on pro. for the battery and screen I chose the max! I’ll live with the little extra weight of it.

Nothing beats making your own experience. I prefer the max too.

Wait for the 14 non-pro Max that's supposedly coming out next year. An aluminum Max model would save a ton of weight! Only way I buy any Pro model next year is if they ditch the steel for titanium. Honestly, how heavy are they going to make the Pro models before people are like nah.

I too have both in hand now for a few days and am leaning towards the pro. I can easily palm a basketball and the max still feels too big for one handed use at all and being on the go all the time I find the pro to be way more convenient. Only thing I’m giving up is battery life which I would prefer if the max was more one handed friendly. That being said I charge every night and don’t foresee it dying before I get to bed anyways.

Until this year I've never really had a hard time deciding. I always just went big. (Plus or Max). This year I started to tire of the weight of the 12 Pro Max and really went back and forth a ton. The 13 Pro is great-- no compromises on the camera compared to the Max, as others have mentioned. The only thing left is just the psychological aspect of "missing" something with the Max (the proverbial FOMO, hah).

I'm a week in to using the 13 Pro and don't really think about the Max unless I see someone else using one. Pretty sure I will keep it but I took long enough to decide that now I have the Holiday return period to change my mind ?

I’m in the same boat, I’m ok with pro then see someone I know that gets the max and feel like I need to get the max again lol. Thing is I don’t own a iPad or anything so use my phone for everything. Is there anyone else that uses there 13 pro for everything that doesn’t own an iPad?

I’m pretty sure that outside of this forum many many iPhone users have no iPad.

I went from the 12 Pro to the 13 Pro Max. And honestly, as some have mentioned, it is a bit uncomfortable. However, I don’t see myself switching ‘back’ to the regular 13 Pro. The benefits after all really do matter to me; the larger screen, the even longer battery life.

I’ve had it for only a few days, so my experience could change. But I wouldn’t bet on going smaller again. It really comes down to getting used to it. I’ve had the iPhone 8 Plus in the past. And while it was less heavier, it was just as big. After a while, I got used to it. I expect the same with the 13 Pro Max.

Worth noting: that’s even with quite small hands.

I downsized to the 12 pro last year and was completely happy with the smaller size but decided to go back to the max with the 13. At first I was shocked at the size/weight and had some regret but now I'm completely used to it and do not think I would downsize again.

As someone with a vision impairment what I found interesting is the text size in apps is no bugger on the max, you just get more info on the screen. A lot of third party apps ignore the text size setting so in many ways the max is no more accessible. However the bigger screen does make using the three finger accessibility zoom a bit easier and with a given font size getting more info on the screen for better context is helpful
