No, the ad was not racist. Did the ad put the name of the restaurant in a sentence that made it derogatory? No. Maybe if they included a description of the restaurant that used the word in an inappropriate manner, but it did not. Context is everything. As stated earlier in this thread, there are plenty of people that have Terroni as a last name: http://names.whitepages.com/last/Terroni, so should we call all of them up and ask them to change their last names to prevent offending others?
If the ad was indeed racist I would have supported this action by Apple. Instead Apple has bowed down to people that overreact to words or names that are obviously taken out of context.
