Just for the record: I also had a very rough start with iOS 17, because it bricked new devices when transferring data from the previous device. I had to wait for 17.0.2 or .3, til this issue was finally fixed. Then there was a rough time until around 17.3, when it was adequate for use on a daily driver. Meanwhile we have iOS 18.4 RC, but I'm still rocking 17.7.2 for the time being, cause i still consider 18 not ready for daily driver.

I have learned to avoid updating until the x.5 release. Especially with iOS 17, it finally settled down after the .5 release and the .7.2 was perfect. I will definitely wait before upgrading to iOS 18 until the bugs are finally resolved….especially battery and email issues..

The worst... yet.

It's the best iPhone we've ever created with iPhone 17 but the worst IOS we've ever created too!

My only real issue is Springboard being aggressive at re-sorting apps and not wanting to stack widgets in certain places.

'spatial awareness' on springboard with iOS 18 is the worst it has ever been by a long shot. so frustrating trying to get things set up correctly. so much so I dont fuss with it anymore

Totally. What a pile of crap. They made it out to be such an amazing new feature and talked about it at nauseum and it is the most worthless failure in existence. It's like no one at apple ever once even tried to re-sort apps on the home screen and just called it a day. **** apple. Worst part is, they don't listen to feedback and do anything about it. Its just left the dumpster fire that it is. I'm strongly contemplating stopping at best buy on my way home to replace my POS 15 pro max. Almost every time I pick up my phone something or other isn't working and I've been trying really really hard to accept it. Isn't that what we do, accept apples's blatant short comings that they tell us are "features"? Will post back if I end up a happy samsung user again.

I'm on 18.4 upgraded from 17 and the only real issue I'm having is weird animations with notifications where they jump and jerk around abruptly. It looks sloppy. Come on Apple, where's the polish? Also, if I have notifications set to "count" where it just shows me how many notifications I have at the bottom of the Lock Screen it thinks I wanna read all my notifications if there's music playing so every time I tap my phone, or raise it, all those notifications pop up in a weird and janky way. This can't be intentional can it?

Not by a long shot. iOS 11 was an entire **** show!

I was thinking the same...I could not use iOS 11 without it resprining, in any app. The camera crashed, safari would lock up, airdrop just didn't work. It was awful, but was better in later updates.

iOS 18 has some annoying bugs here and there, but it's FAR from awful.

There have been much worse. I can't remember the version 11 or 13, maybe -- that replicated the files stored in iCloud. It was a total disaster to clean up. Luckily, I did not lose any data, but spent six months or longer cleaning up the fallout.
