I installed sbsettings and it made my network coverage disappear. Not sure why that is the case, and obviously I was worried as hell since it rendered my phone feature useless. So I uninstalled it and got my AT&T service back. Thank God.

Same thing happened to me. Just reset network settings after installing SBSettings and you're good.

i'm having issues with Skype. It won't background and my contacts aren't showing up properly. (signed in contact isn't appearing as such)

anyone else having this issue? or come up with a way to fix it?

I just installed backgrounder to see if I could get it to work that way.

Which iPhone are you talking about? On the 3G and 3GS, there is no speed decrease from jailbreaking (of course, otherwise it would be called jailbraking). What is slowing the iPhone down is the apps and various settings that you install on the phone afterward. For me, personally, the biggest speed loss was after I set up a background and five apps in a row.

I don't think that this would be any different from doing the jailbreak on the iPhone 4. You can do a restore and do it again, if you experience the problem.

Restored and attempted again, Is alot faster then it was, downloading apps with time intervals between them and not downloading big things..

Thanks for the help.

Jailbreaking the 4 changed the phone completely. First off it dropped every call from the moment the JB was complete. The phone just changed. It wasn't the same. I never experienced this with a 3G or 3Gs. I finally retstored and convinced the Apple Store to give me a new device. I won't jaIlbreak again. To hell with it.

I had problems on three iPhones when I installed MyWi and Rock on each of them. the battery drained faster than normal. Once I removed MyWi and Rock, the phone was normal again while remaining jailbroken.

You gotta remember, these things can and will happen when making these phones do things they weren't designed to do. You can't expect zero problems here.

I have to admit that this is the first time since I started jailbreaking (starting with the 3G) that I'm noticing that my phone is definitely slower now that it's jailbroken. For example, when I open up my contacts it takes a good 5 seconds before I see anything but a white screen (this is with contacts not in the multitask bar or whatever that thing is called when you double-tap the home button). I noticed a similar delay when I open up GroceryIQ (also get a white screen). I'm not sure what is causing this lag but it's annoying to say the least.

Just the typical bugs experienced on the jb apps I'm using as they get updated to be more compatible with the iPhone 4 and iOS 4.0.1. The phone itself is working fine. A definite upgrade from my 3Gs.

I haven't had any problems with mine. I've been careful about what I install on it so far cause I've read of some battery issues.

I've only installed biteSMS and five dock.

I want to install SBSetting next and see what will happen with my phone.

but so far battery life is great and i've had no problems.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_0_1 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/532.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0.5 Mobile/8A306 Safari/6531.22.7)

I've had very few issues. Some crashes or stalls here and there. It's usually because of a newly installed app/mod that wasn't compatible with the IP4. I uninstall it and all is good.

BTW. After JBing via jailbreakme com I never lost MMS or FaceTime. I never had to do an Restore.

I love the freedom and extras that JB brings me. My battery hasn't really changed that much except for maybe being a tad better because I can more easily control Bluetooth/WiFi/Location etc on one screen.

I haven't noticed any major drawbacks to JBing. The battery has also lasted longer for me. There are some details: I still manually turn off apps that are running. Plus, when going to sleep, I turn off my Wifi connection on the phone as well as the Edge data connection (in SBSettings). I lose only about 1% of battery charge where as I used to lose up to 10%. Yes, some of the loss that I used to have may have been from forgetting to turn off apps, but I still noticed an increase with battery life.

Why don't you charge your phone overnight?

I too was playing around with the different features and apps in the Cydia and Rock stores and found my phone acting slow; strange, and off it's game.

I did a complete restore from scratch- restoring as a new phone (a hassle, I know) and only jailbroke adding Cydia and Rock and MyWi. That's it.

No Winterboard. No themes. No toys or whistles. No problems now whatsoever.

I also broke my iPad yesterday but only added a Cydia app that would allow me to now use my Magic Mouse. It too is showing no issues or problems.

I think the idea is to keep it as simple as possible. Adding only the real apps you want to use and disregarding the rest.

It only takes a couple of hours to recharge the battery. I sleep for about 5 hours on average. I don't always run the battery down to empty. It's no hassle to charge during the day.

I see. Never really understood this myself though. The phones not being used while you're asleep so why not charge it? The iPhone's battery should not be emptied and the iPhone switches to AC power when the battery is at 100%. I've always done this with all my iPhones and I've never seen the battery life significantly degrade.

I haven't been noticing any speed difference but there was significant battery drain. I uninstalled MyWi and ultrasnow without restoring and there's been a drastic improvement.

the sleep/wake button on both my and my friend's iPhone 4 is not as responsive and sometimes when clicked the screen flashes on and off or nothing happens until you click again.

I've jbn and restored 3 times because of this problem and it is definitely there. I can not believe no one else has mentioned it.

This has been mentioned lots of times, perhaps not in this thread. It seems to be a minor bug with activator but it happens very rarely to most people.

I noticed on my 3G that it was a bit slow and laggy and bad battery life but I was running so many different things I understood. Everything was fine with my i4. Not slow or laggy at all. Had a problem here or there just restarted the phone and it works fine. I HAD no problems with losing facetime or mms. My facetime now is not working though. I can't get it to call through. Everytime it just says "Facetime failed" I'm going to have to do a complete restore which sucks cause I will have to redownload everything but thats the price I pay for jailbreaking.

No issues with mine. My last jailbreak on my 3G, I went crazy with the themes. This time around I'm just installing tweaks to the OS. Not installing anything that requires winterboard. I have installed shrink and five column springboard but that's as far as themes go on my phone.

hmm

well, most everything worked fine.

However the persistant issue I've had since JB'ing the iPhone4 is that whenever I respring i have to go back to lock screen and get back in before apps will start working again...otherise I just press on the app i con and nothing happens.
Annoying but not a deal breaker.

However, I noticed today that I can't download anything at all from the appstore...nothing happens after I click >free >install it just flashes and takes me to the home screen with no new app.

I'm currently restoring completely. >>after restore I tested app store (working properly)

About to JB and reinstall all my tweaks/apps/themes and will then test again.

JB the phone. Cydia installed. Tested App Store. It's working.

Now...to reinstall all my cydia apps/tweaks using 'apt backup' Hope this works.

After installing via 'apt backup' (impressed btw, not perfect but a huge help)
all is well. Both issues I had are now gone and I have a perfect phone/JB.

hooray!

Restored and rejailbroke

After jailbreaking I found my phone extremely buggy. The screen would often lock up while making calls and safari would crash when visiting certain sites. Icons on the screen would jump. Phone just seemed very unstable.

I restored and decided not to jailbreak again. But after two days I really missed having my jailbreak. So I jailbroke it again. This time it seems to be running good. I am not noticing any performance issues.

This happened to me to with the app store thing. Just for future reference so you don't have to do a complete restore all you have to do is a hard reset. Hold home and power button in for about 15 seconds and let go. Worked for me anyway
