well, i had rebooted the device twice...
you know...holding the top button and then sliding the power off slider.

is that not the same thing?

it didn't work.

I'm just glad that everything is working now.

:)

I see. Never really understood this myself though. The phones not being used while you're asleep so why not charge it? The iPhone's battery should not be emptied and the iPhone switches to AC power when the battery is at 100%. I've always done this with all my iPhones and I've never seen the battery life significantly degrade.

I charge mine every night with zero battery issues (3G x2, 3GS x2, iPhone 4 x2)

Always ready in the morning. Lasts all day unless I fiddle with it all day long.

No thats not the samething. When you power off, you're just shutting the device off. It's not doing anything to change the existing state prior to powering off.

A hard reset clears caches, memory, etc same as when you reboot a computer. Doing a hard reset clears any saved items in memory and clears any caches and things that are normally saved when powered-off

battery drain so fast over 25% overnight with 9 hours standby 34min usage
multi task disable, wifi on, location off, mail off, bluetooth off. nothing run on background before I used to get at least 99% after 10 hours standby. Oh well

I have to admit that this is the first time since I started jailbreaking (starting with the 3G) that I'm noticing that my phone is definitely slower now that it's jailbroken. For example, when I open up my contacts it takes a good 5 seconds before I see anything but a white screen (this is with contacts not in the multitask bar or whatever that thing is called when you double-tap the home button). I noticed a similar delay when I open up GroceryIQ (also get a white screen). I'm not sure what is causing this lag but it's annoying to say the least.

Can a few of you please try opening up contacts on your jailbroken iphone 4's and let me know if you have this same problem? Make sure that you open the actual contacts app and not the phone app. Also, make sure that Contacts isn't currently listed in the multitask bar.

If you have this same problem, please list the jb apps you have installed so we can see if we have anything in common that could be causing the lag.

My Voice Mail does not show up on my phone.
I have to call in to access Voice Mail.

Anyone know how to fix this?

Thanks

web apps such as gmail, googe voice, and glyphboard do not work in safari any longer. they crash and quit out to the home screen once loaded.

can you guys try these webapps? anyone else have this problem? i got no replies in a thread i created. i am on 4.0 ..also i basically only installed grooveshark once i jb'ed. so no sbsettings/activator/mobilesubstrate/etc

if i update to 4.0.1 will this unjailbreak my phone? sorry, i am new to this!

Really, the only issue I have noticed is in
email.

If I have more than one email message from
the same individual that message goes to
threaded form (with a "2" next to it) and I
cannot open it the thread.

My only issue is that my battery drains a lot quicker. I don't think its from JBing, but from an app that I purchased after jbing. It's either SBSettings or My3G. I've been experimenting and these are the only two apps I have left on my Iphone so tonight I will be deleting My3G and see if that helps.

i'm having a problem at the moment where nothing changes orientation when i turn the phone to go to landscape mode, i'm contemplating restoring and trying jailbreaking again as i think i JB'd before they updated it. is anyone else having this problem?

Wow, I've never seen so much doin it wrong in one thread. :D So much jailbreak fail, what's wrong with you guys?

my JB iphone 4 is a little slower then my friends non-JB ip4 and now the service sometimes just disappears in places it has always had service, the MMS sometimes doenst work and now the 3G isnt working lol

yes many times, But im a geek and like to test out every app known to man. Sometimes it caused issues mainly with MYWI and rockapp bs.

Nothing a restore didnt cure.

Jailbreaking with Dev-Team tools does not really cause problems on iPhones. Blackra1n used to cause some issues, but that's obsolete. Mainly problems people have after jailbreaking are caused by user error or by installing resource-hungry or untested apps.
