I ordered it yesterday morning at 12:08, but I am extremely happy to hear that it has 2GB. I probably would've have returned it if the experience suffered from Apple continuing to use a measly 1GB of ram.
It's the least they can do after their "f**k you" to the consumer by still keeping a base of 16GB.
Just wondering how does apple F the consumer with a base of 16gb? If you want more buy more..... apple owes you nothing.

The fact that a $750 phone doesn't even come with enough storage to properly use the heavily advertised new features is absolutely insane. I get that you can spend more money to get more storage, but you're making an already extremely expensive device even more expensive. Yes, making the base model 32GB would SLIGHTLY reduce Apple's profits, but it will make the consumer happier and more likely to buy the damn thing in the first place. Show me a single other 2015 flagship phone priced at $750 that has a base model of 16GB. That's right, there isn't one.

Well here's the thing. If people stop buying Apple will stop making. Do you see the iPhone 5c anywhere around? It dropped off the face of the earth.

Was already probably going to do it, but I can't wait for more RAM, especially since I'm going from a 6 to a 6s plus -- would suck if my 6 ran smoother than a s-plus, but now that shouldn't be an issue with 2GB ram.

Clearly it is not that bothersome to me as my 64GB 6s+ is on it's way, but I just find it pathetic that people are defending Apple for nickel and diming their customers.
Apple could release a 2GB iphone 6S and 75% of this group would buy it and camp out. This is an Apple forum and these people breathe and live Apple. Gotta get use to it on here.

Because there was a 5s available as the overshadowing new phone. If 5c was the latest one it would have sold like crazy like any other iPhone.

They might as well sell 8 GB phones with 512 MB of RAM.

Yea it's ridiculous. For the iPhone 7 I hope they lower the RAM back to 1 GB and the screen size back to 3.5 inches so they can afford to up the storage to 32 GB for the base model. I don't want apple to sacrifice their profits.
As an alternative I would be happy for them to raise the base model price to $700 to pay for the additional storage. Definitely don't want them to lose money off a 32 GB phone.

It was still a new iPhone. They didn't even come out with 2 separated iPhones this time. Except the regular and plus.

I ordered my 6s+ without caring about the ram, my 6 works fine, I just want the larger screen and OIS, and decided to wait until the new phones came out. The 2 gig of ram will be very nice as will the 3D Touch and the Live Photo.

It wasn't a new iPhone it was previous year's technology just replacing the 5 when a newer and better 5s was released. I mean it's not even close to compare or draw any conclusions from.

The announcement of the 6S Plus made me order a 6S Plus. 1 or 2 gigs of RAM was an absolute non-factor in my decision (my 6 Plus has been running like a charm).

Damn right!
Apple might loose few $$ in profit but it will certainly improve goodwill or public perception. That is far more important in the long term instead of short term money gain.

It's the tech nerds who spot flaws in product or company policies. The common public follows that perception.

A guess, no fact...they leaked it as to many people said they wouldn't order until they found out...today there stock went up

yes and no.
1. i was interested in 6s.
2. im now reconsidering because the 6S has no ois in the camera. anyway, i use dslr to take photos, but still...

At best out of iPhone owners (or potential owners) those who would even know what RAM is represent a small minority, and out of those who would care that it was increased is even a smaller minority.
