It wasn't a new iPhone it was previous year's technology just replacing the 5 when a newer and better 5s was released. I mean it's not even close to compare or draw any conclusions from.
Yes it was. It was a 5c. And a 5s. They all had bits of last years technology in it. But they were both new phones.

5c was essntially a 5 with a somewhat different external design and one or two small changes. 5s was a full bump with newer hardware, 64-bit architecture, TouchID, and all that. Apples and oranges comparison.

I don't know a single person who uses multi window on any Android phones. It is practically useless on hand held device.

Closing previous app abd opening new one is far better and less time consuming. Also you do not need to strain your eyes at reduced text size in multi window.

I see a lot of folks talking about how smooth their plus is... If you think the 6 plus is smooth you should try the 6. It's much smoother. The plus is a lag fest in comparison (I have the plus) the whole downscaling makes the animations and such so bad. And it runs absolutely terrible on ios9

Couldn't care less about more RAM. Never had an issue with my current 6 Plus. Ordered the 6s Plus first thing.

When I pre ordered for some reason I was very confident that it was going to have to 2GB of ram. So I wasn't surprised at all when it was announce.

Now, if it only had 1GB of ram, I would of still kept it lol. I already had sold my iPhone 6 plus for decent money. No turning back haha

oh yes! 2gb is the most important feature for the 6s for me. i can live without 3d touch, but safari reloading pages is something i cant live with. not anymore wohoo!

2 gb ran combined with the new processor and these phones are gonna be screaming fast! I'm usually not an "s" upgrader but the specs on this phone as well as the iOS specific improvements to this phone made it hard to say no.

My iPhone 6 is already fast as hell so I can't imagine! Can't wait!

I feel the same way you do! Excited.

With these people defending Apple charging $100 more for the jump from 16gig to 64 gig, keep in mind that I can get a 120 gig SSD that is faster than the flash storage in the iPhone for about $80 retail right now. Flash storage is so cheap these days that there is no reason why it can't be 32, 64, 128.

I've been on the 4,8,16 gig models since day one 2007 and I have never had a storage issue. But I also use my phone for just that, a PHONE. I know lots of people who went with 64 and 128 phones the last two years because they need the space. I think dropping the 16 and doing 32,64,128 would keep customers happy and also would help in the end because it would allow more space for development of features in the future. Plus I know countless people who never update their phone because they don't have enough storage space. Apple=fragmentation? Noooo.

I'm glad of it. The extra memory combined with the A9 will ensure the phone will last for the next 5 years without struggling.

You'll probably realize where ram was limiting you once you get the 6s plus. A lot of people I've talked with in real life didn't realize the "random" issues they had here and there were in fact due to a shortage of ram.

Eh, I don't know about 5 years. But it will be more future proof than the 6 plus was.

I'm pretty sure it will last that long. The iPhone 5 was the first phone to get the 1GB RAM treatment. Now that phone is at the three year mark and hasn't shown too many signs of it's age. It's still buttery smooth on iOS 9 and I expect another two years of use out of it before it starts to age ungracefully.

The fact that a $750 phone doesn't even come with enough storage to properly use the heavily advertised new features is absolutely insane. I get that you can spend more money to get more storage, but you're making an already extremely expensive device even more expensive. Yes, making the base model 32GB would SLIGHTLY reduce Apple's profits, but it will make the consumer happier and more likely to buy the damn thing in the first place. Show me a single other 2015 flagship phone priced at $750 that has a base model of 16GB. That's right, there isn't one.
I agree its bogus but to say apple is ***** the consumer is a bit of a stretch. A lot of people don't need more than 16g of space..... buy the largest device I can get simply because of resale value but I rarely need more than 32g. It would be awesome if they started at 32.... and they should but the consumer has options.

Because if it's not an iPhone....it's not an iPhone.

Jk, 32GB should come standard.

I'm upgrading from a 6 Plus to a 6S Plus only because of 3D touch, 12 MP camera and a 5 mp front facing camera, haptic feedback, and of course 70% faster CPU than the previous model (I assume it will be 2.0 Ghz?). Of course the 2 GB ram is a plus. And I might just stick to the S cycles from now on.

Depends on what you consider "new" I guess. I hate to bring cars in as an analogy, since I feel it's generally overused, and incorrectly, at that, but most consider a new year model a new car despite that very little changes year to year (most models see a large overhaul once every 4-8 years). The iPhone uses only some of what they used last year and people claim it's not a new phone. Kind of fascinating, really.

I'm buying for RAM and to go down to the smaller screen. Although I found out last night that my 6 Plus can hold 15 (holy crap!) tabs open in Safari on iOS 9 before it starts reloading. I always knew more RAM would help, but I also recognized Safari was memory inefficient—even compared third party browsers. Apple's fix combined with the extra RAM in the 6S is going to blow my face off. But for what I need out of a phone, 1GB seems decent now with the under-the-hood fixes in iOS 9. It's rather remarkable. If I didn't want to go down to the 4.7" size I might just consider keeping this now. I was really starting to hate my 6 Plus on iOS 8 and even after doing a clean restore several weeks ago I was still having issues. It might be early to speculate, but iOS 9 seems to have fixed it!

Yeah if the 6S plus is anything like air 2 i will be very happy
If it's 70% faster than the A8, then it should geekbench around 4900. For comparison, the Air 2 scores 4525. Although I just ran Geekbench on my A8X and it scored 4593 on iOS 9. So the A9 could be approaching 5000! Geekbench supposedly translates well across platforms, and that score would make it on-par with a 2013 MBA and the mid-tier 1.2GHz 2015 MacBook. Not bad for something that fits in your pocket!

Considering the iPad Pro specs, one must wonder how long before there is an ARM-based MacBook! With that enclosure you could probably best the iPad Pro by 50% and approach current MacBook Pro speed. Although I'll admit Intel chips have certain advantages that make them faster for certain tasks. But Apple does design their own chips!

As for graphics, they are supposed to be about 90% faster than the A8. I don't have specifics in front of me, but we're talking around the same raw graphical output but going to a lower-resolution display. So expect it to perform a bit better graphically as well.
